Good Morning Beakers......TGIF!!!!

Phyl - Very cool painted walkway.

tsk - Hope you enjoy your girls lunch.   :D  Pretty morning greeting.

tig - Oh, hope Camper is ok.  Is he feeling a lil better today?

Lani - Enjoy your day in the valley.

clynn - Love your cuppa too.  I bet the munchkins had a great time at grandma's.  I hope we see something happening with those goose eggs today at N2B, seems like it is taking forever for them to hatch.

Phyl - Lovely poem, and I love the green jars.

karen - Morning  :)

Lisa... he sleeps late. I have heard him get up upstairs a few times and it sounds like he is walking ok.

My friend Timmy, his family and whole neighborhood were put under mandatory evacuation orders late yesterday afternoon.

Mom, Dad, 2 young kids, 1 cat, 1 dog spent the night on cots at a local High School.
Fun night was had by all - not !   :(

The evacuation orders have been lifted there now and they can return home, but the electricity to the whole area has been turned off as a precaution and the smoke in the area is "unbearable" he said.
And he's a fellow former Smoke Eater like me so when he said that I went oh' my.   ::)
They're all heading north to stay at a family members home until things simmer down.
There house is totally cool he said.

He and I have both fought wildfires in the NJ Pine Barrens in years past.
The conditions for fighting wildfires in that area can be notoriously sketchy, so much so that special training is required to even fight wildfires there.
The terrain is basically flat but the "soil" is sand/sandy and it's really easy to get vehicles stuck in it if you need to make a fast exit.
The pines and their forest floor duff once lit take off like a bat out of hell wall of fire in high winds and high winds are very common there being so near the ocean.

Some common ignition sources there are dry lightning, Philly to shore point Trains, camper chains sparking on the G.S.P. and of course at #1 human IDIOTS.  ::)

Read they have caught the guy who started the fire in New Jersey as he has only 19.
I’m sure he does not have money to pay for the damage he has caused but I think maybe if they put him in jail and take him out on a work crew during the day and make him start working on cleaning up that damage and repairing and replacing what is burned. It may take enough years that when he comes out, he’s too tired for bonfires. Terrible thing people do sometimes.

https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/jones-road-wildfire-ocean-county-new-jersey-arson-charges-arrest/4168026/

I hope they hang this guy up by his you know what's.   >:(
It was either done by shear stupidity or a purposeful act of Arson.
I suspect on a hot (74° at 10:00 AM) dry morning someone who made a bonfire out of pallets and then just left it burning is the latter.   :(

KAREN    Report back on the new vet!!  Couldn't agree more about letting the kid work to pay off the cost of the fire.  Don't think it was deliberate tho?  Just didn't put the fire out fully.  Unless it was a fire in an area where it wasn't supposed to be.  Like BL said - maybe just stupid?   I shouldn't comment as I don't know the full story.

(((CAMPER)))

My porch is open for the summer - cobwebs all out inside widows washed, knee wall vacuumed.  2 hours

All cleaned up and off to lunch.   ;D

some bounce

Camper is sore but he got his shoe on. I suggested he take another pain pill... ("I took one last night") Good grief. Better than someone who takes too many, I guess.
I took a couple before I went out to werk in the yard for 2 hours. It helped.

My new phone is supposed to be delivered this afternoon. Talons crossed...

Hi Paulie!

The vet oractice I took  Piper to today  is tge one I used when I had my Tzus!   It is different now, because they are owned by one of the financial corporations as are many practices here in town, and there is only one vet there that was practicing at this place and I think one of the owners when I went there he is the one I saw today? There is a woman there that Dr. Hall told me to say, but somehow I wasn’t able to quite get myself to cancel the appointment with Dr. night and reschedule with her. At any rate. The visit went quite well except for piper gets almost hyperventilating as I think she is so . She parented the whole time, except when they were holding her in order to do something somehow that calms her down when we got in the car, she drank half a glass of water I had sitting between the front seats, bless her heart
The visit the visit went well, and the only thing wrong is a broken left lower molar which is loose and according to the vet for the abscess, I am to look for swelling under her left eye, and if that occurs call right away otherwise he said to schedule a Dental for the summer and he will pull it or treated at that time. Everything else seemed very good and he reviewed her previous records and talked a little bit about her.
Well, the practice is not as homey as warm as it was. I am satisfied that it is the best I’m going to do at this time I feel like hearing feel like  Her exam was complete
.
The finches!   Yes, they are back and using the nest above my front door and it’s possible that they have babies I say possible only because I can’t see well as I have mentioned and I’m not sure that I am seeing a little heads reaching up for feelings that’s what it look like today and beyond that I can’t say anything they have nothing on the ledge of the window over the front door, looking in as previous years But it’s possible I just missed that and it’s not important to their raising a family.  I will keep watching and report.

Today was kind of sad as I learned about the deaths of two of my high school, friends and classmates. Want to mail in Orlando and the other girl in Indiana. It makes me sad that I was unable to tell them that they meant a lot to me before they passed away and guess I should reach out to the few of us in our class that  are.
left.    my  Friend Barb died a year ago much, and dan ,very recently. No obituary as of yet. It is too bad that we have all moved so far away and other than those who live spread across Florida no folks are close.

Lani, thanks for all the reports you keep up with a lot and keep us well-informed. I hope today was good for you in the valley and that you were able to do more than get your hair done. All of that in itself is wonderful.
I am in need of a haircut. Shouldn’t be hard to do.
Very nice playground for the kids and for parents to watch what’s going on

Phyl, Thanks for your morning reports Phyl.

Going To clean up a few dishes from my supper and get into my soft clothes as I say, happy TGIF and see you Caturaday.  Seds

TIG   Good sign Camper got his shoe on.   Did your phone come today?

KAREN   Poor Piper.   Wonder why the tooth extraction could not occur earlier than " this summer"??  Won't the abscess need to be treated?  Maybe I misunderstood your " typing lady"  LOL   Sorry to hear about two more of your classmates.  We are now the "oldest people in the room"  :o

BL   Hailing somewhere.  duck and cover  LOL   Great song.

Yep... phone came, but late. We will go to the store tomorrow so they can set it up.

As I was checking the box my right bow fell off my glasses and the little screw fell from my hand and went down between the cushion and frame of the love seat. Can't find it. Will call to see if I can stop by our optometrist on Monday.

Anything else!??!!!

I'm thankful these are minor bothers...

kareng  I have a nest mystery, too.  I also think they're finches.  I have an Easter display hanging on the front door that may be there for a while.  They're little and quick flying - building or built a nest at the top.  When they stop using it and fledge I'll switch the season.  I also thought to get someone on the step to see if they can see up there if there are eggs or little ones.  I'm not much help - they made me give up my ladder.

Howdy Beakers!

I'm late getting here - have read everyone's posts, but I'm too tired to post now, so maybe catch up again tomorrow, earlier. I have been on my computer since way long time earlier today - started looking into some TV equipment and software-related stuff, and, o law, hours later and not much smarter, and definitely hungrier. As per usual, I haven't eaten since breakfast! Going to put Zippo to bed - she's not happy my back was to her for many hours today while I was "computing." Then I will throw together something easy to eat - and probably something I should avoid.  ;D

Clynn, loved all the pics you posted - of the kids and their fun, and the throwback pics of little Harley and Honey.  :-* It seems some people still think your Harley is named Honey, probably because he is honey-colored. LOL. My sister said today she is trying out the name, Mabel, on her Honey. LOL, I told her it sounded like either a cow or a maid. Ha ha. Anyway, she said she looks like a Mabel. Not a final decision.

Everyone try to get well, and stay that way.  :)  :-*

Peace. Out.

Tig, I'm sorry to hear about {{{Camper}}} sending prayers.

Clynn, the Munchkins look wonderful. Love Miss Bella's artwork, she looks so grown up with such a cute hairdo... awesome park... love your morning blue pics... I'm so glad to know Rosie and Richmond are together for another year... why can't Iris have that kind of luck..... another Mother goose with eggs. Good luck :-*

Phyl, Lovely poem.... beautiful green theme pics, especially the glass containers, I love vintage items like that.... Beautiful Spruce Grouse....

Karen,  Poor Piper, sorry to hear she will need a tooth extracted. glad to hear it isn't painful, good idea to have Dr Hall look at her too... Bless her .. so glad to hear they found the person who started the NJ forest fires.... I'm sorry about your classmates {{Karen}}.....  I often think about mine. Majority of my classmates were military brats, as was I... so I'm sure many left the islands.... and we did lose 125 classmates to the Vietnam war.... looking forward to hearing more about your finch family... you and Piper sleep well tonight.  :-*

BL, if I'm reading your post right, you must be camping and it's hailing... keep covered and take care. Great song!

Hi Puff finches do love nesting in wreaths. A pair just finished raising a family in one that I have on my downstairs patio.  ;D

Lisa, Love your morning cuppa!  ;D ... enjoyed our day in the valley, but not the traffic. Pear cactus were blooming everywhere. And we were very happy to be heading back up to our home in the pines! Even though we have lots of pollen, it's much cooler than the desert.

Tsk, Now your porch is ready for summer!!  Enjoy your lunch with the girls!  ;D

Paulie, my head cold is just about gone... And hopefully, pollen season will be gone soon too. Now, that the snow is gone when are you going to your cabin?

SED Baz and Zippo ;D

Good night!

We saw more than a dozen wild mustangs standing on a hill off of the N87 as we were driving home.
They were just grazing, looking very majestic and proud. That was the best part of the day!
