Dunrovin Ranch Ospreys Swoop (on perch) and Winnie (nest) have returned to Lolo, MT.

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Tsk, Clynn, Lisa, Karen, Kb, Oldguy, Puff, BL, Baz, Phyl, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Eagles4, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Tig, Peep, Jaspurr, Lindy, Pink, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Oldguy, sorry you've been sick over the Easter weekend. Glad you're on the mend.... thanks for the videos and updates.... RE: Kilauea, the sight of seeing the floor of Kilauea awake, hot red and steaming is shocking. What is Madam Pele planning.... Santi's cats reaction a few seconds before the quake was interesting. They knew and then it hit.... I wonder what were the reactions of the outdoor cats and Walter. Take care.

Baz, awww Honey Bun is adorable. She looks like a Honey.  :-* ... NFL draft is tonight.

Clynn, Beautiful morning pics, love the coffee gif... the Juniper pollen is hanging on. I'll take a pic of it this afternoon, the orange yellow seeds radiant in the afternoon sun.... sounds like your home will be surrounded by spring soon. I love Lily's of the Valley too.... I'll start filling our plant pots with annuals in May. The night temps are still in the high 30's to low 40's.

Phyl, Love the sounds of the Cuckoo  ;D... you and Jim take care.  :)

  :)

Bearstudy - Earth Day! - UPDATE April 22, 2025

When I think about Lily and June and what they started for bears, I think of all who share hearts for bears. It makes me want to say once again “thank you for all you do.” What has flowed from Lily, her den cams, and people who then wanted the best for bears, their habitat, coexistence, and the world made me want to celebrate what so many have done by posting this picture of 6-year-old June locked in love with 3-month-old Lily on April 22, 2007, the 37th Earth Day when there was so much ahead of them. What Lily did by allowing a den cam in her den showed the world what black bears are really like, how tenderly they care for cubs, and how they can steal the hearts of people worldwide and start a movement for bears that still echoes today through all of us, through others who have learned, and through efforts by the BBC to educate with documentaries about the bears we know. There is so much to be grateful for and so much we can still do.

Thank you for all you’ve done and are doing.

Getting close to potting time for spring annuals and adding a few evergreens in divers places . Then the weeding in the landscaping beds. Gonna have to hire that out as we just can't finagle  with bad knees and  Jim's chronic fatigue from his AFib.

PHYL    Love that cat lane  ;D

Well thought I had only 1 hosta to move out of my fern bed but actually 3 have appeared so took me 1 hour 10 min to get that done.  So happy we have had some rain to make the soil softer.  Check that off the list.  I may get a start on my porch tomorrow.  Usually a bit more than a half day cleaning project but have a girls lunch at 1 PM about 20 min from here.   We've been apart a long time.  Should be a long lunch!

No bounce

Rats. Camper took a tumble in the kitchen tonight while bending over to dry Rosie's paws 🐾. I got the kneeling pad and he got up ok. He feels like he wrenched his bad shoulder a bit and his toes took a beating. Ice bag deployed. Prayers.

Good Morning Beakers!

We (I) watched the Munchkins last evening while Erin and Sydney went to the Brooks & Dunn concert, Bella and I had fun doing this and that, a little art, and Barbies (a couple of them got haircuts!)!

The new playground is open!

Bella made an Earth Day picture that Erin sent me, so cute!

Lani, Iris... Happy to hear that Dunrovin will carry on again! I miss Richmond and Rosie, it's not the same at the nest they built after the nest in the crane was blown down. But they are both back this year and most likely have young ones in the nest!

Thanks for the Bear report and the sweet picture of June and Lily!

tig, sending prayers for Camper...

tsk, I have several hostas that I want to move too! It has rained here and there so it will be an easier job. I am thinking about putting a row across the front flower bed and accenting with Impatiens along both sides... We shall see!

Phyl, love that stone path! Thanks for the great 365! Like Lani, I love hearing the Cuckoos, kind of a haunting sound like the Loons. Still praying for you and Jim to feel even better...

Lisa, another lovely cuppa coffee!

Thursday mid-day at the Decorah, old N2B eagle nest with Mrs Canada Goose checking and rolling her eggs again. Gail Woodcock

April
by Emily Dickinson
An altered look about the hills;
A Tyrian light the village fills;
A wider sunrise in the dawn;
A deeper twilight on the lawn;
A print of a vermilion foot;
A purple finger on the slope;
A flippant fly upon the pane;
A spider at his trade again;
An added strut in chanticleer;
A flower expected everywhere;
An axe shrill singing in the woods;
Fern-odors on untravelled roads, —
All this, and more I cannot tell,
A furtive look you know as well,
And Nicodemus' mystery
Receives its annual reply.

TIG   ((((Camper))))  Good news - didn't break anything.  Bad news - aches and pains for several days.  Keep that ice on. :-*

LANI   Bet you have a list of things to do whenever you go to the valley.  Hair, doc and a Costco run?  LOL  A nice lunch out also.
Sure wish Iris could catch a break.  One tough osprey!

CLYNN  Love your AM pics today.   :)  Boy Bella is really looking a lot older now.  ;) ;)   Cutting Barbie's hair  :o  Yikes   Finally the new playground - It looks good and the day was nice to explore.   Great job on Bella's earth day pic.  ;D  Like your plan for the hosta and impatiens.  Nice to try something different once in a while.

Good orning!  Pretty coffee cup with the bird thus am,Clynn,  great colors yesterday and today, Lisa, Phyl, anf all,
Sorryti readyou have een ill, old Guy  but glad you are recovering!
Be careful cleaning off the beds where your impatience were last year as you may find little ones growing underneath the leaf cover. I have a little tiny one blooming in a pot that was full of them last year, and just as perky as it could be, they transplant it someplace else it’s been a beautiful morning today. Piper came in before I did, but I sat out there, surveying their yard to determine what I’m going to do next. And enjoying the gentle breeze and wonderful sunny day it will be up to 87 later and I’m assuming the humidity will peak, no rain.
Will be taking piper to a vet that’s new for her this afternoon for a get acquainted visit and a schedule for shots etc. later I didn’t like the other one we had and I don’t think she was particularly  enchanted .
Red they have caught the toll bridge, who started the fire in New Jersey as he has only 19 I’m sure he does not have money to pay for the damage he has caused but I think maybe if they put him in jail and take him out on a work crew during the day and make him start working on cleaning up that damage and repairing and replacing what is burned. It may take enough years that when he comes out, he’s too tired for bonfires. Terrible thing people do sometimes.
 Bl
