Howdy Beakers.

TSK, so glad Tim is home! And Tom and Barb will be back soon!

Phyl, I hope you get better soon, or see a doc. There are treatments for respiratory issues and symptoms that aren't antibioticcs. Maybe you could ask when the doc sees you. Anyway, hope you feel better soon.

Oldguy, that was a perfect card for Chris!

Lani, I wonder if maybe Finn found another girlie osprey he doesn't have to fight another male for? I hope Finn is safely at a nest somewhere, or maybe will show up still for Iris.  :-* And I hope Iris gets a new guy if Finn doesn't arrive there, even tho she may have one of the cad's eggs soon. Seems like that happened last year when Finn arrived, and Iris laid an egg too soon afterward for it to be anyone's but from Louis, and Finn acted none the wiser about it. I think that's what I remember... LOL, I do not trust my memory anymore, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Talons crossed for Iris this year!  :-*

Karen, dang on not being able to get those eye injections. Hope all goes smoothlyl with the removal of the damaged trees.

Waving to All the Beakers!

I'm hungry!

Later, Gators.

BZm Thank your memory of Iris and Finn is accurate. At least it’s how I remember it being.
Tsk  Will time and Barb stop in Birmingham to visit the kids. They’re on their way home.? Maybe bring an Easter basket, full of seashells instead of hard, boiled eggs, and candy.  It will be nice for the boys to be able to meet a little in person instead and I’m sure on the phone or the computer etc.
Until I read your post, I was ready to go out and get a red outfit and chair and sit on the patio waiting for the hummingbirds to show up. I thought I saw one weeks ago and quickly ran in the house, swept up a batch of food, part of the under our feeder and ran out and hung it and haven’t seen one since I also have a basket of red petunias hanging next to it and some other things around that they should like there also are some bugs out there that they could start working on but I haven’t seen them and I hope the Bird flu didn’t get them or something else storms maybe very late here for hummingbirds to be coming   Somebody asked about my house finches and I have seen them flitting around, but I am not sure whether they have eggs are sitting on the nest or not. I don’t see too well and a lot of the straw around. The bowl is up in the air and I’m not sure whether I’m looking at the nest part or a birds head at any rate they were around and there are birdies Flying in and out of a nearby magnolia tree and I’m not sure if they’re finches or something else at any rate there is a little bit of wildlife around La yard. , Tree work did not start this afternoon as planned, but will begin in the morning sometime around 8 AM which is the middle of the night for me lol OL signing off and wishing all a pleasant evening and a bright and shiny tomorrow morning. SEDS. Fingers crossed for Finn and Iris or at least somebody to chase Louis away. I Wish iris would do it

KAREN   Barb and Tom fly down and back.  They were in Birmingham a month ago for the twin Grandtrs 5th birthday.  Glad they will be back soon and I can give up my part time job of picking mail off the floor and sorting, watering violets, checking for mice and flushing the toilets  LOL

Karen, I'm sorry you aren't eligible for the injections.... I hope all went well with the tree removal... Finally, your new mattress arrives.  ;D

Kb, I hope Chris had a nice birthday and Cheesecake Factory treat too.

Hi Paulie, Puff, Lisa, Tig  :)

Oldguy, Lori, Delicious birthday cakes for Chris!

BL, cute hummingbird feeder! LOL! ;D

Tsk, Glad Barb/Tom will be home in a week... that will help you.  :-* ... prayers for you and Tim.

Baz, I still hoping Finn returns.... I can't imagine him giving up this nest. Ospreys are territorial about their nests.... Last year Finn kicked out Iris's first egg.... I wish Iris would just kick Louis away.  :-\

Oldguy, thanks for Hellgate video.  :) ....our cat Norman watched the kittens with fascination. Thanks for the videos I'll catch up tomorrow.

Good night!

They will be here soon and in the middle of that the mattress people will be here with my new mattress so it will be a busy day here and it’s some point they’ll take part of the fence down in the backyard and I’ll be having to walk piper around so challenges begin also have to run to the drugstore at some point to pick up a prescription that I just had renewed.
I may not be back here for a while, but we’ll catch up with all of you later and hope everyone has a great day

OLDGUY   Thanks for Hellgate info.  I thought Finnigan had removed the egg but wasn't sure.  What an education watching the rebuild of this railroad - painstakingly tedious.  All the specialized equipment.  :o :o   Another amazing project - the Bridge.  Reefs solution - hopeful

KAREN   Busy day for you.  Hope it all works out.

Signal Station Trig chick has been inclined to be very near the cam since the 4th of April but is now generally behind the grass that the cam is pointing at. This provides challenges keeping her in cam view as when she is within 3m of the cam she only needs to move a little and she is out of view again.

The cam does not focus when she is right up beside the cam as it is designed for distance viewing. We are doing our best to keep the chick in view but there will be times when it is not possible to do so.

The long grass also obscures the chick, particularly if she is sleeping. She is not hiding from her viewers as such but following her natural behaviours and instincts.
Since hatching at 286g on the 28th of January, the Royalcam chick at Signal Station Trig has grown to 5.4 kg on day 77 (Tuesday 15th of April). This is a 0.9 kg increase on last week’s weight. Today’s weight is average for a female toroa chick of this age.

Weighing is now weekly on Tuesday’s, weather allowing, and is a 2-person task using a small basket. A larger basket will be used in coming weeks, and she is getting big enough that the beak will need to be held to pick her up.

Comparisons of average male and female chick weights and all the past Royalcam chicks are included. Rangers use weight data to determine when a chick requires feeding intervention.

There have been 8 feeds from both parents since the last weigh in 6 days ago. This is a few more feeds than the previous couple of weeks.

Mom GLG regularly feeds her Royal chick. Though she has to find her first, since chick loves to explore her surroundings. LOL!

And interesting sidenote: Adult/ Dad LKL of former Royal Cam chick Manaaki has spent time sitting with SSTrig after feeding his own chick a bit farther away from the cam.

Good morning Beakers!

{{{Karen and Piper}}} What a busy day for you! I hope you will have help to set up the bed with sheets, etc.... take care.  :-*

{{{Tsk and Tim}}} Thinking of you both.  :)

Hi Lisa, beautiful Easter pic.  :)

{{{Phyl, Jim, Miss Maggie}}} oh dear, I'm sorry you both are having such a rotten time healthwise. I just want to come over open your windows and do the Indian cleansing and blessing of your home with sage ... Sending prayers for your healing, comfort and peace..... may your day be as special as the beautiful fawn in the nature video.

Lani, the help  omes at 1 so she can put the  mattress
cover on and the linens! , matress all set up.  My old mattress will go to a church who gives them away free!
Bedding washed and dried this am . Another small load ready to come out of the dryer.   Tree folks at lunch!
Will take time to get used to this look and maybe add something.
