this is our current light show in Minneapolis. Video is by someone else....

I took Ollie out back and after dark I put him on a leash and saw the same light show, then heard thunder.
We hustled back inside quickly.

A little odd for this area in March, but we've had March's like this before, just not very often.
Cooling temps for us through the weekend with a possibility of mixed precip or light snow.

House still smells like paint even though it's low VOC (volatile chemicals). Furnace fan on all day and windows open still...

Old Guy, sorry, your feet are still bothering you from yours would be fun hike. Ouch I am familiar with expensive shoes as I’ve had to wear the most of my life fantasy from the 3 inch high heels to my tennis shoes. I have to watch the Michigan Auburn game. I am cheering for the orange I don’t know what I’ll do if the orange plays the red rolling tide that would be something as well in Michigan and Michigan State game

Phyl, beautiful blue vases.... beautiful and peaceful nature video ... Thank you for your good wishes for Aly.

Clynn, all of the Oregon apprentice therapists will have to accept these changes. Aly would not have accepted the Oregon apprentice offer if she knew there would be a two year non-profit work obligation before you can become a licensed therapists. She worked two years here in Payson for a non-profit and then two year apprenticeship in Oregon. Oh well, I'm just keeping my mouth shut. LOL! ... Rumor has it Louis and his mate Star arrived at their Hellgate nest.... darling pic of Big Bear eaglets  :-* Puff has often posted about AZ 89A, we've been on part of it. Stunning views.

Tsk, We hope the same for Aly too.... How is Tim?  :) .. YIKES coyote!!

Kb, darling Pudu deer... saw videos of the earthquake, terrible.. hope the ceiling painting goes well. .. fun video of horse, girl and dog...

Baz, sorry about today's women's UNC game... I don't like Purdue but they almost beat Houston, I would have liked that. Too bad.

Lisa, thanks for your good wishes for Aly.

Hi Tig, Puff

Happy birthday to MpMom!

SED Karen, I had Auburn winning too... Love the "Who Care Stage"  ;D

March

by Douglas Malloch

In what a travail is our Springtime born!—
'Mid leaden skies and garmenture of gloom.
Wild waves of cloud the drifting stars consume
And shipless seas of heaven greet the morn.
The forest trees stand sad and tempest-torn,
Memorials of Summer's ended bloom;
For unto March, the sister most forlorn,
No roses come her pathway to illume.
Yet 'tis the month the Winter northward flies
With one last trumpeting of savage might.
Now stirs the earth of green that underlies
This other earth enwrapped in garb of white.
And while poor March, grown weary, droops and dies
The little Springtime opens wide its eyes.

The cat’s song

By Marge Piercy

Mine, says the cat, putting out his paw of darkness.
My lover, my friend, my slave, my toy, says
the cat making on your chest his gesture of drawing
milk from his mother’s forgotten breasts.

Let us walk in the woods, says the cat.
I’ll teach you to read the tabloid of scents,
to fade into shadow, wait like a trap, to hunt.
Now I lay this plump warm mouse on your mat.

You feed me, I try to feed you, we are friends,
says the cat, although I am more equal than you.
Can you leap twenty times the height of your body?

Can you run up and down trees? Jump between roofs?

Let us rub our bodies together and talk of touch.
My emotions are pure as salt crystals and as hard.
My lusts glow like my eyes. I sing to you in the mornings
walking round and round your bed and into your face.

Come I will teach you to dance as naturally
as falling asleep and waking and stretching long, long.
I speak greed with my paws and fear with my whiskers.
Envy lashes my tail. Love speaks me entire, a word

of fur. I will teach you to be still as an egg
and to slip like the ghost of wind through the grass.

Good Morning Beakers! It's CATURDAY again!

Phyl, very unique, The Cat's Song! I like it... And love the pretty Calico ladies.  We have had a calico in the yard lately, Sam and Sophie are very interested! Yes, Spring is really  coming, I will be watching to see the hostas peeking up, I want to move some of them around!

baz, oh no! Somewhere there is a black hole with all of our lost posts in it! Hope you got a good sleep!

Lani, well, Aly has one year down, right? I can't remember exactly when she headed for Oregon, but it seems like it might have been a year ago. We all know how time flies, so hopefully she can manage just one more year...  It's a shame they won't count her volunteer time in Payson.  Yeah, I'll just keep my mouth shut as well...  ::) It's time to start watching for Iris to return! Kitty Carlyle posted Iris's return dates for the past several years!

tsk, very windy here yesterday also, it got to 81!  Says 69 today, 44 tomorrow. I think tomorrow will be a day for chili! All the cats where they aren't supposed to be, on the island! I couldn't get Sam in the picture, he kept moving around!

IT'S CATURDAY

OLDGUY   We hit 77 officially at the airport but 79 on our outdoor thermometer and my phone.  LOL  Wind gusts were something else last night.  Can't remember a time when wind was an issue for so many days.

KB   Check that project off the list  ;D

KAREN     Back in the late 50's we always had the doctor come to the house for all of our childhood diseases pre vaccinations.   First vaccination I remember was polio.   Love the "who cares" stage  ;D

LANI  That sleeping tent in last night's pic is one I have that Lucy used to sleep in all the time.  ( I washed it after Lucy passed to remove all the hair)  Have put it out on a few occasions for Lulu and after she uses it once or twice - that's it  LOL   Gosh - so heartbreaking for Aly having to do double duty on the non-profits... :(    Tim OK

PHYL   Cute AM triplets  ;D  Tim doing OK   I learned about the eartip in the Beak  ;D

CLYNN   What a group of cats this AM.  Like that third one  ;D  With a couple exceptions Iris should arrive before the 8th  ;) ;)The view is better from the island  ;D      Lulu is always on the island but NEVER on the food prep areas by the sink/stove.  Don't know why that is but am happy for it.

Um, some ideas for Lisa....winter cat "hotel"

tsk - I have the walls yet to have painted. Deciding yet on a color, and then have to remove a ton of books from a book case to move it to the middle of the room, and a large tv credenza type thing with heavy equipment in it. TV is mounted to the wall but all old audio equipment plus other "stuff". It's heavy too so will have to get Colin's help.

another coat on the ceiling first next week. Doesn't smell too bad this morning....

Rain/snow heading in for most of the week till Wednesday. Won't be much apparently, just damp and ugly.

Good Morning/Afternoon Beakers....Happy Caturday!

kb - I need to find someone to build me that  ;D

tsk - Pretty ginger kitties this morning.  The wind has been crazy this year.

clynn - Love the Caturday pics this morning, and look at your two beauties.   :)

Phyl - Cute kitties with their lil ruffled bows. Thanks for the cat's song, and March poem.

baz - Sorry about your lost post.   :(

Lani - As Phyl said, that does look like my Bandit in your good night pic.  :D

karen - Thanks  :)

Jeff is calling me to come outside.  He is cleaning up the yard today, so need to go help.
