Had my first visit to P.T. I like the doc. The doctor ran me through a few movements to see how the pain was. He was gobsmacked when I bent over and placed my hands flat on the floor!  :o  Four things I got from my Mom... organization, low blood pressure, being judgemental, flexibility.  He gave me exercises to do and I'll see him once/week, for now. Camper hooked up the heating pad for me. Ahhhhh....

(( Kala ))  ((( DNN )))   ???

Phyl ???  How did it go?

BL, Ed drives a 2015 Toyota Prius. For the last several years when he gets a certain distance from our house a little short tune plays. No matter what direction he is coming from, and it doesn't do it when he leaves. We are fairly close to the freeway, and it even does it when he goes by the subdivision on the freeway! Toyota has no idea what causes this! They have looked and looked!

Clynn that does sound like a weird occurrence especially since Toyota knows nothing about it.   ???

I did take a quick peak at a Prius chat/forum and there was some slight mentions about a similar issue.
They were mentioning pings or bongs more than "a little short tune plays" however.

It sounds like it has something to do with the built in Navigation Unit.
Like some sort of proximity alert to ones home location.
Have Ed delete your home location from the Nav unit and see if it stops doing it ?

We've had a 2019 Honda CRV with a Nav unit for 3 years now and I still have no clue about half of what it does, and I'm pretty good with those kind of things.
The instructions TOME gives you a headache after about 15 minutes.
It's like reading the fine print on a insurance policy .. not real intuitive IMHO.
Peeps under 30 probably set the whole thing up using the touch screen in like 20 minutes without the manual even.   ;)   ;D

I walked up to get my Jeep as they had nada for a diagnostic. Been a week or so. In doing so I stopped at another store where upon hearing my issue said immediately: "you want to sell it" knowing it stalled 4 times this winter.
Upon entering the mechanics the owner said: "want to sell it"......it's in high demand as i can't buy another one like it in today's market. The mechanics/owner all acted like what's the big deal?

I have an appt in mid April at a Jeep dealer nearby after speaking with them for a long time and feeling good about their mechanics having 30 yrs plus of working with Jeeps. Also there are sub groups of Jeep geeks out there apparently that could probably fix her pronto. We shall see.

Meanwhile I shall drive her and deal with it....if it even happens with warmer temps.

I'd be doing cart wheels if I could place both palms of my hands flat on the floor.    :)

I've never been able to do that even in my teens.   :o

Happy Day, Beakers!  :)

I love Kingfishers!!  :-* :-*  A Belted Kingfisher dives for fish every day at my retention pond. At the end of every day, he flies across the street, through the trees, toward the intracoastal waterway there. Sometimes there is a female Kingfisher fishing at my pond, but usually it's the male. They are gorgeous!! And so fun to watch - roost on branch by the pond, and look and look, and then fly/dive, then continue on to a branch on the other side of the pond, then consume any fish caught. Rest, and repeat. LOL. Gotta love that call and their special rattle!!

Lani, ditto on Pitino.  :P  I will be cheering against the Duke men as long as it takes.  ;D  I watched the UNC women play in the 2nd round of the Womens NCAA Tourney last night. They are a 3 seed, and won. Yay! Now they go to the Sweet 16, and just guess who they will play... yep, the Dookie women! You gotta be kidding me. LOL. Duke women are a 2 seed in the NCAA Tourney this year, and this is the first time ever that the UNC women will play Duke in the NCAA Tourney. Go Lady Tarheels!! My "Beat Duke" button is getting double duty! :D I love the Potoos, and Kala is such a little beauty! Thanks for posting about her. I hate that she can't be re-wilded, but I'm glad she is in such a great, caring forever home.  :-*

((Karen)), ruh-roh. I'm sorry your dentist cancelled - I hope they re-booked you, and that you won't have to wait long to get back in to their office.

Lisa, thank you for sharing RRP's informative update on the failure of DN19's hatch attempt. So sad. We have seen that happen before in more than one nest, of course, but it is still a disappointment for the Decorah North pair. Talons crossed for DN20 to hatch, and for the North Eagle Family to be healthy!
  :-* :-* :-* :-*

DN19, you tried your best; now Peace. Soar high like the Eagle you are.  :-* :-* :-*

JASPURR sent this to me and gave permission to post

"The Potoo is NOT an owl.  It is  cousin of the nightjars which includes nighthawks and whip-poor-wills.  I heard one in Panama.  It scared the living daylights out of me.  A group of divers built a fire on the beach after a night dive.  Some of us, including myself, fell asleep and heard this awful ghostly noise.  All of us got up and went back to our tents.  LOL.   Dr Gale of the Panama Smithsonian Research Center told me what we heard.

LANI   I couldn't think of " fiesta dishes" earlier . Was thinking the same thing  LOL Thanks for that and the "territorial geese" comment.  ;D

LISA  Don't think the other will hatch either..  Sure do wonder why that happened.   Gosh I didn't know we have both nests with geese  sigh...  Thanks for posting Amy's report.  Never thought about the issue with naming..

TIG   Did you see an actual PT doctor ( physiatrist) or a regular PT with a Phd? which is what they all are now.  Flexible is the word!  :o :o :o

Kb let me get this totally straight with Nellie the Jeep.

You have A.
V8 4.7 Liter, 4WD, year 2000 built, garage kept, 2 owner highly maintained, 66,000 mile, with tow package Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition ?

We call that around here a Grandma driven to church on Sundays garage kept used vehicle.

It's not painted hot pink with yellow and orange flames on it I assume.

It's intermittently gremlin stalling at low speeds/RPM.

Fully stopped on the brake pedal only ?
No gas no brake rolling to a stop low rpm ?
Tooling along on a country road very slow no gas no brake around a curve?

I'd install a covered safe dashboard button that deploys a big ass physical road anchor attached to the hitch and call it a day.

Even with all that Nellie has to offer from a used car perspective ..

Even an outrageously good cash offer to buy it wouldn't even cover the cost of a Trim Package upgrade on a new SUV.

BL you got the Nellie vehicle

She has stalled during the following:

1.Stopped at a red light, brake on, no gas

2. Low rpm turning slowly gas only on a residential road.

3. Turning slowly with gas, no brake.

4. Braking but not at the stop sign yet, but low rpms.

Does that cover it? I think so. Turning, and going straight, braking, stopped, and gas only but going slow.

I think you are saying: Keep her?

That's my intention. Not my son's who at least in his most hyperbolic mood ( he can calm down days later) says he won't drive it anymore (too afraid) or won't even drive with me....We shall see.

One last looky see next month at a Jeep dealer might seal the deal...?

Also as I've said: He primarily wants a newer vehicle for the upgrades in music, computer stuff, I'd like to say a different word than stuff, but also for his anxiety....He's not a farm boy...not a rural boy. And, one of two of his primary disabilities is extreme anxiety.

I'm paying for it, I'm the MOM, and I shall make the decision!.

Let me know if you meant to get rid of it or not?. Not exactly sure. I was just trying to express that in 15 minutes I had two people wanting to buy it; One worked on it, one never saw it but I described it. So confirms to me she's yes a Grandma vehicle, but worth keeping.

BTW, the dealer looked her up and she has a totally unrelated secondary recall on her which they will repair free of charge by Jeep. The hitch, I called her tow package, needs welding as it might not sustain a low level rear end without more damage to the rear than it should. I don't tow anything anymore, but said sure why not.

BL - I re read your questions...and post. Yeah, you are NOT suggesting I could get enough for her to buy a newer vehicle...and probably as from before NOT like a new one.

I'm a hanging on to her if I can BL....I love her btw...only some people think she deserves a highway drive or a cross country drive once in awhile for her benefit...

Sorry Nellie...You've done well for me now for 23 years..of 25 of your life. LOL so hang on.

If you and Pip are ever in MN and need a drive across a few states. Let me know. She'd probably benefit/enjoy it. I'd surrender her for a few days just for her sake.
