Baz, I didn't realize there Rick Pitino has a son that is also a coach... Richard Pitino is the new coach for Xavier! Goodness that was quick! The colleges move fast after they complete their season in March Madness! Go Lady Tarheels!!  :-*

{{{Tig}}} Take care and God bless your mom  ;D

Lisa, Karen, Puff, I'm so sorry to hear the news about the Decorah North D19... Thank you Lisa for posting Amy's blog post.... . it tried so hard to break through ... I pray the other egg will hatch.

Tsk, Thank you for posting Jaspurr's comment and her experience...  And in big letters too! Couldn't miss that. I could read it without my glasses. LOL!!! I stand corrected... Though, I didn't make it up it was written in the TRR a few times.... It is still a sad story as it is unknown why Kala will not fly or fend for herself. She is a mystery and thankfully she will have a safe and loving home with TRR. Maybe in time will help :-*

BL Robert Plant, Alison Krauss great duo, very hot song. After that I had to listen to a couple more with T Bone Burnett too.

Good night!
A raccoon has been bothering Mother and Father Goose tonight!

Good morning Baker’s piper and I are up at dark 30 today and have had a bit of breakfast and a coffee temperature is 58° headed for 84 late this afternoon.
Reading the beach yesterday was like listening to Car  talk haven’t thought of that radio show in ages but used to listen to it a lot driving around tune in to NPR. The two brothers used to fix cars all over the place. They were pretty funny to listen to.  They always recommended some highway driving   Instead of the short trips taken while grocery shopping, etc. somehow that’s not supposed to be good .
Larry, great catch of the raccoon visiting  n.  one last nigh.  Pretty brave to try and rob the nest of an egg with those two parents on duty. Trust he/She got away quickly.
Time  For another coffee

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, Kala will have a good life living at TRR, no doubt she will be spoiled by the people that care for the residents... She must have some owl-like characteristics, wonder if she can turn her head 180 degrees. Those darn raccoons, they love climbing N1! Those geese can get pretty darn fierce defending their nest!

tsk, I agree with you on the technical stuff, and I really do think some people's brains are wired to understand. Erin had no training whatsoever, all the knowledge he has came from playing video games at an early age and just poking around, trying this and that. But he texts me, asking how to boil eggs... ::) ::)

Lisa, so sad for DNN, I am hoping and praying for DN20 to hatch. I don't think we have seen a hatch-in-progress fail. We are finding out many new things.

karen, I take my car out on the freeway once a week and let her rip! A mechanic told me the same thing. Good for the battery syste,!

LANI   I know you did not originate the Potoo "owl" description.  TRR described Kala that way.  Sad little story about her tho.

KAREN   I've always heard that about giving a car some "xway" driving .   "Blows out the carbon"   :-\

CLYNN   I'll take the painted cans over those gorgeous painted bottles.  One strong gust of wind and bye-bye  LOLOL  I had a ceramic wind chime once - Didn't last long.  :(     Erin asking you how to boil eggs  LOLOL  And we can even operate a rotary phone if need be.  LOL    I so agree about always learning something new each season about our eagles nests.

"Stand Off !
March 25, 2025

Yesterday, after we arrived back home from doc's I found this little drama going on.
Once  I snapped the picture. I stood and watched for a while longer then each took off
going their separate way in opposite directions.

Left, Dad Mocking bird and on the right, Dad Bluebird.

Cute pic KB

Pain in my low back at 3 - 4 a.m. 3 nights in a row has caused a lack of sleep and kept me home from the pool. Talons crossed for tomorrow as I start my home exercises today.

Kia ora koutou (hello everyone)
The Royalcam nest.

On rainy days the double layer of down protects the chicks from the weather now they are in post-guard stage.
Since hatching at 286g on the 28th of January, the Royalcam chick at Signal Station Trig has grown to 4.7 kg on day 56 (Tuesday 25th of March). This is a 0.6 kg increase on last week’s weight. Today’s weight is 600g above average for a female.

Big girl!  ;D

Bad hair day!  ;D

Karen, Mike takes my car down to the valley once every six weeks or so to make sure all is well. You should have heard mother goose did a lot of hissing at the raccoon. Raccoon played peek-a-boo with it for a few minutes.

Clynn, Love this mornings colorful pots and displays... My neighbors who are part-timers, display a bottle tree year round. They have a couple of them at the Tucson winter home. Mother goose did a lot of hissing and flapping of wings at the raccoon. Raccoon didn't seem too impressed.... the Big Bear eaglets are doing so well. They have beautiful views, I'm glad to see the snow is gone.

Hi Tsk, Puff, Lisa :)

{{{Phyl}}} sorry to hear just a few more days until evening walks allowed.... Musk rat  ;D ... cute capture of Mockingbird and Bluebird  :-*

Kb, cute  ;D

{{{Tig}}} sorry  :( ... Talons crossed and prayers for comfort and healing as you start your exercises. Get a good nap in today, take care.

Which do you prefer?
second swatch down from the top, left or right? Right one is bluer (cooler) left one is greener (warmer)
I'm having my living room re-painted

Wall color behind swatches is discontinued.....my living room....Lacks natural light until noon or later...
Warm red/yellow stained wood (oak) trim everywhere.

Chris wants right (bluer) I want left one (greener)

Thanks in advance ;)

KB - IMHO, it is a toss up. For instance, we have the warm oak floors, trim, doors, and wood blinds throughout. In the living, dining, halls and upstairs bedrooms we used a light beige on the walls. In the first floor "bedrooms" we used a very light gray. The bathrooms are light blue and light blue/green. The kitchen a light yellow. I think the best part about either choice is selecting the lighter version, as you have.  :D

KB green is my favorite color so I tend towards the lightest green.  However from the samples, the lightest blue looks brighter.  Hmmm, always a tough decision picking paint colors  :)

Good Morning/Afternoon Beakers

kb - I like the blue, but Im thinking about your trim and the green would probably go better with it.

Lani - Love the bad hair day pic on the Royal baby  ;D  She is a big girl.  FYI - Mother Goose at N2B had her 6th egg this morning!

tig - Sorry about your pain, hope the home exercises help.

Phyl - A bird standoff...LOL  Thanks for the 365.  Hope all went well at doc appt, oops I see you answered.

tsk - LOL, one strong wind gust and bye-bye.

clynn - I am like tsk, love the painted cans.  :)  I hope DN20 hatches, too.  There was a good look at the eggs earlier this morning on live feed, but I didn't see anything that looked like a pip on 2nd egg, unless it is on the underside.  Awww, BB kiddos!

karen - You and Piper were up early this morning!
