UPDATED!! Had incorrect info!
The referenced photo of the horses on the beach IS NOT REAL, per TSK, it is AI-generated!! per her reading and looking more closely, and per info in her related post about that below. Thanks, TSK![/b]Karen shared this link with me, and so I'm sharing it here - of the wild horses on Assateague Island, VA - not too far from Lisa's stomping ground!

It has some really good info about them! Like the wild horses on several other barrier islands of the VA, NC, and SC coast, they are just
gorgeous, and incredible animals.
Incredible histories! Some of the wild horses on some of the barrier islands have starved and died from illness or injury in the past. Sadly. Most of the barrier islands with the wild horses have programs now to provide additional food during tough times to prevent starvation, and to assess if vet care is needed to treat illness or injury. It has been a contentious topic from time to time, over the past 4 or 5 decades that I have followed some of them. They are just something else to see in the photos, and even more so to see in person, if you ever have the chance.
The picture is not real - it is AI-generated - on that public FB page of some of those wild horses on Assateague Island, VA, looking like they are in the sand by the surf, alongside nearby people doing the same. NOT REAL!
P.S. I am
not a FB member, and
no login is required to view this FB page - Just "X" out of the popup sign-in page, and you will see the informative post. Then you can scroll down from there to see that FAKE PHOTO of the horses on the beach by the people sunbathing by the surf! That is NOT a real photo - it is AI-generated.Here's that link. Thanks, Karen!
