KB   Good point on the manufacturing process of the flour...Thanks for the update on Spacex launch.  Didn't listen to news yesterday and just got up  ::) ::)  ( 9 hours last night - ugh)

LANI  Thanks for your similar story on steps.  Glad you weren't hurt either.   Thought my depth perception was going.  The stairways in our home have deeper steps and are carpeted and I'm used to the count  LOL

CLYNN  A blast of color this AM to wake me after 9 hours of sleep - YIKES  It hit 77 here.  I woke at 1 AM to a distant crash of thunder and some gentle rain but do not know yet if I slept through worse.  Interesting piece about the most Irish cities.  Didn't mention dying our River green  LOL  Thanks for the article on comments from the Astronauts.  What an assault on the body functions after returning to earth. But it is what they are trained for and love what they do .
Old Bake House a B&B.  I love them.  On all the trips my friend and I took we always stayed in B&Bs.  Best place to be and to get to know the area and what the locals like..

Good Morning Beakers! CATURDAY!!!

oldguy, after the storm/tornado siren went off 3 times the storm passed through without incident, or even much rain. The wind whipped up for a few minutes.

BL, the big storm was a dawdle here...

That's good to hear Clynn, because it sure looked a little ornery on the radar.   ;D

Some Caturday tweets   :) ;)

Wish I had met BOB while I was in England.   :'(  When I get back (?) I will find and sit with him on the bench.

Boston -  #1 Irish, who would have thunk it!

Actually I don't eat much blah bread at all.  Do like sourdough, Bays Brioche, Pepperidge Farm raisin; don't usually even eat hotdog with bun just dip in mustard, Italian sausage plain - BUT I do make white loaf bread (use evil processed gold medal) hot with lots of X2 evil butter.  Usually have about 8 loafs to hand out at Christmas time to unexpected guests or family.   Ooops, no more family.  This year was a lot of nothing except a bad couple months.  No cookies either.

Two Irish food stories - First related to the potato famine in Ireland.  Because of money shortages, the growing conditions, and results thereof, the workers of Ireland (men) on average ate 40 lbs of potatoes a day.  Then there was a climate/loss of crop reason to look for new environs.  Many deaths.  Interesting museum display in northern town of Cobh and the Cobh Heritage Center.  Very moving and sad.  Can you imagine eating that much potatoes!

Just by chance, Ton and I did a cruise in the Caribbean and met 2 couples, some of who were born in Ireland and migrated during the famine as young people.  Was told about the title of "The 25-cent ers.  England decided to offer a free cruise and a quarter for anyone to migrate to Australia.  Ships of people were filled taking up the offer.  Very scarce information that I could find on line????  Will never forget that group.  Ton and I had no idea of half what they were saying (mix of brough and Aussie?).

No bounce, er, bad bounce
I was helping Camper soak up some spilled water this early morning in the kitchen. I goofed and put too much of my weight on my cane which was on a towel. It slipped out and I went down on my butt. Bounce. No pain on tail bone but in surrounding muscles and lack of total support. I'm icing with rest. I'm worried about compression or organ damage though, so I think I'll wake Camper in a bit and head to the walk-in clinic.

What a dumb move. I have a smart hubby tho. While I was sitting and we were discussing how to get me up, he had a great idea. I scooted over to the back door and he laid a couple of our heavy door rugs(mats) over the threshold and onto the porch. I scooted out to the steps and stood. I was lucky it was 50 degrees with a light mist at the time. Pics to come. He was like... "What?!?" I told him the Beakers need to see. Lol.

Update later
Prayers appreciated

The same stairs that we fear and diss can be help I found out with first knee replacement.  Surgery hurts for a few days, that eases soon.  But, tig, what I discovered soon (my mantra) don't fall down.  Even getting up from low seat, make sure the chair has arms.  I've discussed this many times with rehab for both Ton and me.  Getting up is worse than going down!

But those same stairs that make us cringe can be a saver.  You just scoot over to stairs, especially down flight with railing, and do what you said - lower your feet to a lower level and pull up on railing.  When I took my tumble in December I was on a flat slate floor, had to scoot about 4 feet over to the staircase, and then put my plan into motion.  Doesn't help the pain and there was nothing broken in leg - but I could have been there for who knows how long.  Got up via the  plan and walked out to the garage where's there is a phone hanging right handy.  911 on way.

Also, as a helpful hint, and past bright idea.   First was to eliminate the two steps at the front door.   Broke down concrete and made it one slight slanted new pour so it angled right up the door.
Also, at that before mentioned garage, about 5 years ago we put in a grab bar at the inside right wall; there is one step there.  If you think about it - moving grocery bags from the car to the foyer frees an otherwise unused  hand/arm.  May as well steady yourself.

Do we need to start a Helpful Hints chat?  Can't wait to see your butt.   ;D  For sure you should check things out.
Mine would not be an anything special pic.  Elbow/arm was almost blue/purple/black.  Current issue is the wrist/hand.

Ok' so Pip and I can get a wholesale deal on some of these.

We were going to ship them out to all Bakers for X-Mas, but now we're thinking we should expedite the order.   ;)

Seriously I hope you're alright Tig.  :-*

Happy Caturday Beakers!
Hello Eagles4, Lisa, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Clynn, Glad you and family are okay after the storms.... love your Caturday pics, they would make great puzzles! Woke up to a big surprise! 5" of snow!!  :o ... interesting about the Bakery becoming a B&B ... I checked the Big Bear Cam chat, they said they have no way of knowing which eaglet passed or if it may be deep in the nest, and because eaglets are close in size.  They are going to wait for further info when the sun shines and snow melts on the nest.

Tsk, I count stairs too. LOL!  ;D ....  How is Tim today? Enjoy your niece's ice skating show! Keep warm.  ;D

Phyl, oh my, so sorry about your fall and the long lasting effects.... Love Bob pics.

BL, great Caturday videos... and the Cow. LOL!!

{{{oh Tig}}} sending prayers  :-*

Puff, "Helpful Hints Chat" sounds like a great idea! Along with BL/Pip's safety first suggestions.  ;D

Sadie at the dog park this morning (6:50am)

Godspeed Spacex.....a successful lift off today and they will return those poor astronauts who've been up there like "forever" um since June.

If you're a night owl you can watch the SpaceX capsule dock with the ISS live tonight on NASA TV.

"Docking is scheduled at 11:30 p.m. EDT _ hatch opening is scheduled at 1:05 a.m. EDT on March 16."

Thanx BL... Make mine a double

I'm at the doc now...

I'm really glad I told Camper to not try to lift me. We don't need two patients.
