PHYL  Good to see you .  However, your note screams a walker!  Do you have a walker? - a must as far as I'm concerned.  It has 4 extra legs and not just 1. It can be a rolling walker not necessarily a "pick-up" walker.   (((PHYL)))

LISA   Love the coffee art this AM  ;D   Barb said she can get rid of her puke bucket but not so much the other end!  It is spread by contact not air- born.  If they touch the same thing and then touch their face etc it can spread.   Must keep washing hands with SOAP - not sanitizer.

LANI    Beshayer has quite the tongue  LOL

Royal Albatross ~ Sweet Reunion! GLG Returns Quickly From Foraging At Sea To Be w/ Her Chick 2.9.25
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRdqoIwY-7M&t=16s

Feb 8, 2025
GLG returns to the nest after being gone for only two days at sea! RLK greets her with a beautiful skycall and GLG will join in as well. A Mother's love brings her back to be with her new chick. RLK was only gone three days when he returned as well. Both parents are very devoted to their chick especially at this early stage. RLK begins to allopreen GLG with some sweet affection. She will reciprocate to him as well. They sit very close to one another - almost leaning upon one another. RLK will then get up and GLG immediately will take over brooding their chick. RLK gardens briefly before he departs. Don't be surprised if we see him back quickly as well.

More importantly than returning quickly is that they find enough food during their trip foraging at sea to be able to feed their chick.  Thank you for watching!

Such a loving pair  :-*

Lani, I love this Albie update! GLG and RLK and their chick!!  :-* :-* Hope she was able to bring back plenty of food to feed, too.  :-* :-*  LOL, you know Zippo was in our camp for the game! She was disappointed at the Chiefs' play. Eagles deserved to win - they played great. Ugh. It didn't affect the snacks though!  ;D ;D :D  Right, who in their right mind would schedule a meeting during the Super Bowl?!?  Wonder why the people attending the meeting didn’t ask to reschedule it? Hope it was short.

Lisa, big snow coming your way? Looks like you might be getting some tomorrow and Wed.? Hope you don't get any of the at least 2 ice events coming this week! My western NC and mtn communities may get the severe icing with damaging impact... like the people there, who have lost so much, need that. I hope it doesn’t happen.

Phyl, I haven't caught up yet on today's posts, so don't know if you or Jim have posted yet today. Either way, I'm sending you extra wishes for more comfort and recovery. Thanks again to Jim!

BL, you're right about the game.

Karen, nice of the vet!

TSK, poor Barb! I hope she is some better soon! Just awful! I saw on the news this weekend that a large cruise ship has hundreds on board suffering from norovirus. Oh geez. That's no way to take a vacation.

Take care, and stay warm, Beakers.

I'm heading back to read today's posts - I have some catching up to do.  :)

baz - Yes, gearing up for the big storm.  I have not seen anything definite on what they think we are getting inch-wise.  It keeps changing on the locals news.

tsk - Maybe my next class to attend will be coffee art class.

Lani - Awww, sweet pics from TRR!

BAZI   Not looking good for the Mtn community - Let's pray none of that happens.  Barb doing better today.  Cream of wheat staying down but just goes right out.. :(.  She's taking Imodium which seems to be helping.

LISA   Now there's an idea but I think you need special tools for that coffee art craft  LOL

Big storm headed this way - Our first "big one" starting after AM rush hour on Wed and will snow all day ending in the early hours of Thurs.       4" to 8" predicted.

Boy it sure looks like a pretty big chunk of the country is going to get striped by this snow storm over the next 72 hrs.

Tsk it's looking like Chicagoland might be the bullseye for this one.   ::)

Use the time slider at the top, zoom in and then hover cursor over your location for snow amount readout.

Lani I'm about 33 miles NE of Seal Island, ME.

The sunset last evening looked almost exactly the same here.   8)

We're staying in the beach cabin tonight. It has a very nice wood stove in it so we're nice and toasty.
The cabin is about 2,000 ft from the main house on the level sand "beach road" where we saw "Bullwinkle" Sunday night after the game. Mr P said he's been in this part of the island for years, but is rarely seen so " you guys lucked out the other night ".   :)

I forgot how spectacular the night sky is here in the dead of winter and Mr. P has an awesome telescope out here so we've been peeking through it often all night. We can sleep when we get back home.  ;D
Of course Kopje isn't much into telescopes so he's snoozing by the wood stove like a cat.   ;)

We've seen a few seals and their pups up on the rocky beach. They don't get nearly the same number of seals on
Mt Desert Island  as Seal Island however.

Sunrise at Bar Harbor is 6:30 am so we've got some strong ass coffee a brewing.
We figured we caught the sunset so we might as well catch the sunrise too.

We should enjoy here while we're here ... 'cause there's no here, there !
Ziggy.

Good Morning Beakers!

BL, sounds like you are in a good place! When I see the words Bar Harbor I think of how the New Englanders say it, at least the ones in Cabot Cove Maine (Murder She Wrote). Bah Habah! Found this: So ‘ Bar Harbor ’ is ‘Baahr Haarbahr.’ Pronounce ‘a’ as in ‘bat’ and just whisper the ‘r.’ Goin’ to the shto-eh in Baahr Haarbahr under a mackerel sky. Another feature of Maine-speak is the long o’s that sound like a rock dropped into a well. It goes with those elongated syllables.

Lani, yes, we have some snow coming, we have had so little so far! But this too shall pass! Supposed to start around 8:00 tonight and continue most of the day tomorrow. Light snow it says. We shall see. And then again Friday/Saturday. BUT, Spring is on the way! Hope you and Mike are staying well, is he home yet? Gorgeous sunset at Seal Island... Cute baby sloth yawning so big!

baz, cute little pup with his big winter coat on! See you later!

tsk, we have it coming, the snow I mean! I can't get straight on how much, it keeps changing and forecasts don't agree!

Lisa, latte art class! Here is an online class, but I think you would have to have an espresso machine?  I had one but never used it, kind of wary of the pressure thing. Beck has worn out two machines, she makes lattes every morning. Oregon is a very big coffee state!  https://www.latteartguide.com/

Phyl, good to see your post, I wish things were easier for you... At least you are safe and watched over with Jim and Maggie there with you...

Channel Islands  (Sauces) - Jak brought hungry mama-to-be, Audacity, some fish, which she gladly claimed.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

BL   Our Iowa friends in on the big one as well.  The snow blower is saying "finally"  ;D   Sounds like you are making the most of your visit to Mt Desert Island - like you always do.  :)

CLYNN  Enjoyed your heart post this AM  ;D   Loved your description of the Me accent.  Early in our marriage, Tim got an espresso machine.  Think he used it twice... ::)  Becky sounds like a real enthusiast.  Does she bring the machine when they go to Mom's?  LOL

PHYL  Knee scan today?

Some iffy news on our local weather today tsk.  Very limited margins.  Currently by me 23, high forecasted 26,  low predicted 22.  Not much wiggle room - snow numbers another story.

Waiting for 8 am to call and verify that cardio got the monitor results back from CA before I travel out local for an appointment about the results.   ::)

It does sound like some of the beakers are not at all working on good news.  Take care everyone.  Later.....

So funny - Yesterday it was the battle at NN.  ND brought the "log" and NM showed him where it should be. Today it's the battle at Tremp.  She said to her mate - Listen mister, when it hits the nest it becomes my decision.   :o
