TSK - Yup! And more tonight...  I'll make some rice I found in the cupboard for Camper. I'm restricting my calories and carbs... We usually go out before St. Pat's Day to grab a bite and listen to Irish music at a place in the neighborhood. And I have a bday coming up, which means a couple of dinners or lunch. And I have my appt. with knee doc approaching, for x-rays and scheduling.

Happy Caturday

Tonight...

Sun, Mar 9, 2025 – Sun, Nov 2, 2025
United States

Daylight Saving Time

Daylight saving time, also referred to as daylight saving, daylight savings time, daylight time, or summer time, is the practice of advancing clocks to make better use of the longer daylight available during summer so that darkness falls at a later clock time. Wikipedia

Event Length: 240 Day
Observed for: 116 years
Significance: The practice of advancing clocks during warmer months so that darkness falls at a later clock time.

What states are getting rid of daylight savings time?
Only two U.S. states, Arizona and Hawaii, don't observe daylight saving time at all, refusing to roll their clocks forward and backward every year. But Hawaii and Arizona are outliers, relying on a loophole in a 58-year-old federal law that requires states to stay on daylight saving time

The sun is out today - heading for low 50s.  We got about 1 inch of snow on Wed., but most of it was gone by end of Thurs. - some flurries on Fri. but nothing stuck - about 1.75 in. of rain for the week, which was needed.  Did not notice any delays with the Girls BB tourney in Des Moines, despite the closed roads in the Western half of the state - enough warning, that the schools spent an extra day in Des Moines.  Roads in my area were only wet.  Warm temps all week here, with the highest on Friday of 76 with some rain.

Happy Caturday!

I'm watching Lani's Jayhawks for her while she's in Tucson. 3 minutes left! I won't mention the score in case they are recording it to watch later. Or maybe they're home now. My team plays starting in 10 minutes.

I made a batch of chili a few days ago, and finished it for lunch today. It was yum!

The women's bball tournament has started. I watch UConn, as the star player is from MN.

For maybe the second time in my life I made a pot of old fashioned white rice tonight. (I usually use the instant individual cups). The rice went well with the enchiladas.
Tomorrow morning I'll make Arroz con leche. My Mom used to make cold rice with raisins and milk and cinnamon sugar. How a 100% German knew about the Mexican dish, I don't know.  :o

Call it what you will tag but my scotch Irish English southern mother made that rice dish in the early 40s that I am aware of how far back she knew about it. I don’t know I think everyone made it and called it what they would get their native tongue at any rate it’s good.
Happy Katter day pictures and thanks for all the lovely posts they were great including pictures, videos, etc.clynn Cute pictures of the kids at the lake. What did they do the shore looking for interesting things that washed up too cold for swimming I know.
Phyl, Sorry to read your knee is still giving you problems. I was hoping to hear that the pain had subsided.
Lori, thanks for the pictures of the three cute little bobble heads just adorable. I do hope that they will survive to fledge and lead long healthy lives.
I don’t think SFWL will have a second clutch after all there’s still no signs of eggs the nest is perfect but I don’t believe there will be any egg laying until next season. It is getting pretty late for that part of the world having said that they’ll probably landing tomorrow. Lol OL.
We are expecting rain tonight in sometime tomorrow and then I drop in temperatures for a few days before it goes back up again Upsey, daisy or Dipsy do we can use the water according to the people who said we were in a drought however, I got a news flash on the iPad a little while ago saying we were under a flood watch so I don’t know whether we’re too wet or dry at any rate it’s going to rain
Lani, I hope you had a nice time in Tucson even if it was for a meeting I have a very good friend who lives there I was in her wedding. She was a nurse in the hospital in Vietnam and the wedding took place in San Francisco. She married of Air Force Academy graduate pilot who is deceased at this time he was a great guy, and they had a lovely family, and she remained in their home in Tucson, where he lived as after he became head of the Arizona, Aaron National Guard, and any rate she loves it there originally from. Piper and I are going to reset the clocks now and be ready for tomorrow. I’ve tried to explain to her that her dinner time will be a little different and I don’t think she cares one bit as long as she gets food.
No Canaday pictures were today so I’ll leave you with the soft posted below

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I bet you were pooped out when you got home last evening! Is there still snow on the ground? I can always imagine the feeling you have when you first see the Payson sign, almost home...

karen, the kids were at Saylorville Lake to see the eagles! The eagles are fishing! We are going to drive over and see them today! There are several places to see them this time of year, at the lake or along the Des Moines River.

tig, my Mom made rice with raisins, milk and cinnamon when we were kids too, but it was warm! I love rice pudding, make it once in a while!

baz, chili is always good or better the next day or so! I am going to make some next weekend when it will be in the id 40s!!

Big Bear - #3 First Breakfast with Dad @9:10 am.. he looks very strong~ actually up front (right)..is #3.! Happy Shadow came along he  distributed  food to each one so  well!
