Kia ora koutou (hello everyone) The Royalcam nest.

Since hatching at 286g on the 28th of January, the Royalcam chick at Signal Station Flat has grown to 3.1 kg on day 35 (Tuesday 4th of March). This is a big 1.1 kg increase on the weight from last week.

Mum, Dad and female chick!  :-*

The results are in. Signal Station Trig chick is a female & she weighed a whopping 3.1 kg! What are her parents feeding her-chick was fed 5/6x over the last couple of days.
Good thing Rangers Colin & Scott used the green basket!

Good morning Beakers!  :)
Hello Eagles4, Lisa, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Phyl, beautiful blue theme,  I'm having a blueberry muffin with my coffee.  ;D

Clynn, it's Rooster Day! Love your pics! They are gorgeous, my grandfather raised them...awww Harley and Kelsey's jammies.... I agree about cats. I can call and call and there is nothing but silence. But, when I'm busy in the kitchen, there's Norman behind me and I'm about to back up and step on him.... I don't know if either are good or bad boys... Milo likes to jump on Norman's back and bite him.... when Norman cries I know his brother is being mean again.  :P ... amazing Custer Expedition photo. You can't help but feel heartache, for we all know what awaits him and all those wagons.  :'(

Tsk, Clynn, We're watching Kevin Costner's docu of Yellowstone on Fox Nation. It's very good too. He's got a great voice.  ;D I can't help thinking of Whitney Houston when I see him.

Lori, Congratulations Big Bear Eagle Family! I'm so happy for this pair, please no more snow and ravens. Let this be a successful season.  :-*

Lisa, Mardi Gras! Yep.... we're having pancakes for dinner!!!  8)

I've seen that Evinity advertized. Thankful for the present I can skip this.  Gonna see if Jim will take me to an appointment later this
afternoon .
We are very windy today. In fact all last night...so begins March for us.

Tsk- I've been meaning to explain that my Yoga mat is padded w/ 1" foam . AMy said I could get om my R. knee...it's painful, almost unbearable. So I try to avoid it when doing so right now...a funny sight. LOL
My return appt. is later this month...she said if I still had any issue...she'd give  a cortisone  inject. If she recalls each knee is suppose to get lucky. LOL

CLynn- usually do my AM post the night before. I thought  a soft 'blue' would be  Spring-ish.  Looked at the landscape beds... :o
Almost there for my evening walks. This 'Ol Desert Gal needs temps to warm up some.  ;)
That 'T' storm last night...Hopefully you'll be able to catch a nap.

Lori- tks so ,much for the BBEs and sharing Jackie & Shadow. Congrats on their first hatch!   We have mocking birds, bluebirds , sparrows, cardinals and the
entire avian gang in the 'mood for love'. Those nesting boxes and tree branches are gonna get some new home construction.  ;)   Just want to let you know how much I enjoy / appreciate your posts, short videos and info on the bald eagles and goodies. Hope things all going well for you and your family. Think of y'all often.

Lani- tks for the Royal Report.  Sounds and looks like SS Trig Chicken is thriving. Great snaps. Will need to finish reading later today.

Later...

CLYNN   Thanks  Had not heard of Evenity. I can mention it to my doctor in July.  Prolea is what was  mentioned to me by a rheumatologist.  Daily for the rest of my life with possibilities of back issues..  I said I'll take my chances...  Well we know that wagon train photo wasn't taken by a drone!! ;D   Such brave people.

LISA   Thanks for the reminder.  Did I hear Mardi Gras festivities were cancelled cuz of the weather??   No rain here.  Just cloudy and very windy again.

LANI   SST is a little fatty  ;D  Graduated now to the green basket  LOL

tsk - The Mardi Gras parades were only cancelled in Jefferson Parish.  That parade rolls along Vererans Hwy in Metairie, LA.  The uptown and downtown parades were still on.  I saw a live feed view from EarthCam, as they always show Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras Day.  People were still partying.

Phyl - Hope Jim got you an appointment today.

Lani - The "green basket" really shows you how big the Royal babies are in size. Mmmm, pancakes!

PUFF   It actually began raining around noon today and stopped a little bit ago.

LISA  Thanks for the clarification on the Mardi Gras parade.  Someone else said to me they thought it was cancelled as well.

Welp....9 inches of heavy wet snow ending tomorrow morning/afternoon with 1 plus inches an hour sometime tonight.

Just went out with Ollie on the steps and it's that very very wet slushy stuff...

Praying for my arborvitaes...this is the kind of snow that broke multiples of them on an April first a few years back.

Ordered a plow for the driveway this time, no battery powered snowblower, NOPE.

Chris and I will attack the decks.

Also praying nobody loses power.

Snow this am was all gone......guess winter is back.

Well, the summer weather we have had the past month is a little early and I think the snow in Minnesota is more suited for the time of year but I’m glad I’m not responsible for removing it and waiting for the storm to come in with winds and rain and maybe it will help the drought we’re having even though I’ve had water standing in the backyard from two days of rain. We are still listed as a serious drought area. Low humidity and lack of rain is creating fire hazards Everywhere. In the south east we’ll see what this storm Briggs.
I think there is more to come, and Lisa will have to watch her return trip as closely as she has watched the one she’s the party debarking on on Thursday. Be careful, Lisa.
Cute colorful morning pictures the last few days and great roosters!

Picture below fir Clynn
Super pictures of Jackie and shadow, the new baby and the two eggs. Also great pictures of the little great niece and little baby brother who was up in the tree with all GEN or somebody over to the right if you’re Think it’s time to turn in and get ready for a new day tomorrow and CGS maybe her family funny picture.

{{{Phyl}}} I hope you were able to get to your appt. Take care.

Tsk, I agree SSTrig is a little fatty..  ;D .... she's lucky to have two parents who come in often to feed her... chicks look so fluffy, I'd love to hold one.

Lisa, Mike's Louisiana employees were heading down to the parade after work today... Mike loves banana pancakes for supper and we freeze what's left for weekend breakfast.

Baz, I learned another new thing this week "Ambergris". Very interesting info, did not know it's in perfume. I've copied the link.... LGN is the cutest little bird up in the tree.  :-*

Kb, sorry about the snow... we may get snow on Friday.

Karen, very funny cartoon for Clynn! LOL! I wouldn't be able to get out of a bean bag now. LOL!

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers!

The wind howled all night, we had blizzard warnings and all schools closed for today. I looked out when I got up and it looks like maybe an inch of snow! I thought there would be much more!  Temp is 27, high 32, high tomorrow is 44, so the snow will be gone quickly.

Lani, fat babies are a good thing, SST looks wonderfully fat and fluffy, and I agree it would be special to hold one! We love pancakes or French toast for Sunday dinner and extras never get thrown away!

karen, believe it or not, Ed did bring a bean bag chair from the Thrift store once. It was a kid sized one, it was in need of more 'beans' and I thought it smelled. I told him it belonged in the trash and there it went. He evidently can't smell anything because he smokes...

baz, thanks for the article on Ambergris, I had no idea where it came from! When in perfumes it is listed as amber and is often paired with the earthy scents like sandalwood, cedar, bergamot, musk, etc. Those are my favorites, especially with Patchouli!  Great pic of Lil' Punkin in the tree, she looks so pretty and happy!

tsk, it rained basically all day yesterday, it was a very soft rain until evening. I imagine there is ice under that inch of snow! I re-scheduled my oil change from today to tomorrow. Not going anywhere today! Have you been working on your current shawl? Let us see it when it's done.

Phyl, hope you made it to your appointment, Jim is a good man, he takes good care of you! Souds like it was windy everywhere yesterday!

Lisa, I read that more people are getting chickens for their back yard! That's what the price of eggs does! Cities are allowing people to have so many in their yards (no roosters).  Backyard Chicken Ownership Continues Its Boom: https://www.aarp.org/home-family/your-home/info-2020/backyard-chickens.html?msockid=09e74c5ca70c63f123c55fa9a6726282

Lori, thanks for the video of the Big Bear nest! So exciting!!  Praying all are successful this year!

Around 77 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period, North America looked vastly different than today. A shallow inland sea, the Western Interior Seaway, split the continent into two landmasses: Laramidia in the west and Appalachia in the east.
Laramidia, a narrow strip along the western coast, was a haven for dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and duck-billed hadrosaurs. Appalachia, separated by the seaway, had its own unique ecosystems. Dense forests, swamps, and evolving flowering plants dominated the landscape, while marine reptiles like mosasaurs and ammonites thrived in the seaway. The climate was warmer, with no polar ice caps, creating lush environments perfect for prehistoric giants.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

Beakers ...

Today 56F  and Tonight  33F

We had real rain and wind storm all night long. I'm confident we won't be getting a flock of chickens as just wouldn't be worth the
HOA fines or city fees.
If true...too bad Mardi Gras celebration cancelled.

Lani Yes. Made it appointment, thank you.     SST ..." Graduated now to the green basket"  LOL
"Ambergris"  in short whale 'puck' as high school boys would tease us that's what we were  wearing. I loved my mom's Channel #5 and Shalimar

Tsk-wishing you success w/ meds

Baz- forgot all about 'Mardi Gras'.  Evidently didn't miss after all.  Cute snap of LGN in the tree

Karen- What a hoot bean bag cartoon. With my back and knees----No way anywhere could or would I ever do that.  :o   Hope all's well with you and Piper

CLynn- PreHistoric period and the world was still cooling off, oceans warm and brewing up Life...spewing up dinosaurs . Colorful posies this AM. Wow snow!  The weeds are peeking thru and, Jim is having to think about them.

Prayers for:  Victims of natural  and Man-made disasters plus those who rescue them. The Fallen / Our Allies in Defense of our country.    Police and First Responders.   'Little Gray' and 'Little One' and  all abandoned, abused , lost cats , stray, unloved, homeless  and feral cats.
The Bluebirds of Cane Ridge, Tennessee,  Sauces bald eagle cam nest, Hummingbirds, Bumble Bees  and Honey bees everywhere . As always, Beakers, Cheers and RRP / families.
