Brrounce

I went out twice, with a rest in between. Cleared what I could from the roof.
Tnx for the nice words. That reminds me to grab a picture of the roses...
Spring, and my bday, can't be far away... as I purchased tickets for 3 baseball games today for our local Triple - A team.

Phyl, Lily, the neighbor’s Maine Coon cat is spoiled rotten. She was a rescue/re-home about a year ago, I think my neighbor said. She gets major TLC!! My neighbor has really been working with her, bit by bit, to get her to be more trustful, and relaxed. Baby steps. That is a very rare thing that Lily would get in my neighbor’s lap, or even be picked up. Normally, Lily doesn’t allow touching of any kind, if the person initiates it. But Lily will sometimes decide to rub against your leg very sweetly, and she has done that with me several times. Just don’t try to even very calmly reach down to touch any part of her, at least unless you’ve banked a pint of blood at the ready.  ;D That big storm line is nearing Nashville now. Keep your weather alerts on, and hopefully it will lose some of its oomph soon. I had to post that story about Wisdom, after seeing she had layed an egg again this year, and was so sweet in that video with her sweet little hatchling. So amazing! Lol, Rosie’s grounded!! A clowder! That’s a new one for me. They’re a very cute clowder!  :)

Tsk, I’m sure you’re familiar with Maine Coon cats. As you know, they  have several very distinctive physical characteristics that make them so very different from most other domestic cats. That uneven thick fur, their giant tufted feet, their long very fluffy tail, and their overall very large size. And even tho’ that was a camera angle exxageration of her, I noticed today that Lily is starting to look a little “girthy.”  ;)  Her mom gives her loads of treats, in her effort to bring out Lily’s more positive attitude, and it’s definitely affecting her girlish figure. They are typically laid back and sweet-tempered, but Lily is defiant. Lol! But she’s showing signs of progress with her “‘tude.”  :) I think their history is pretty interesting.

P. S. I have wondered if Lily might actually be a Siberian cat. They are very similar in appearance to Maine Coon, and I think Lily more closely resembles the Siberian cat breed.

Good night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

Baz, {{{Wisdom and chick}}} wonderful update, thanks  :-* ... interesting about the bird fossil... Lily does look serious, she is a beauty. I agree she does resemble a Siberian cat a bit more than Maine coon.  :P ... okay love the pup enjoying a summer day!

Clynn, sweet Caturday pics... I love oatmeal with raisins too, otherwise they're too dry for me.... I'll stick with the name Monkey! LOL! ... sweet pic of North's two precious egglets.

Phyl, love your morning Caturday pic! .. mission impossible  ;D ... "Rosie"  ;D .. I just read Baz's post about storms coming your way... Take care.

Tsk, The cable lines get cut even if they are marked.  :-\ .. the exercising black cat was a fun one... doing the cat strut!.. I adored the little girl with her carrots packed on her, so cute..

Lisa, Nosy neighbors I'd place a tarp there too.... awww the Spotty family!

Puff, yummy oatmeal raisin recipe. I'll have to try that. I prefer raisins in my oatmeal cookie.

{{{Tig and Camper}}} Sweet pic

Kb, scary jump...  good luck penguins!

Hi Paulie  :)

Karen, I love the names "Mike and Flossie"  ;D thanks for update.... stunning rose sculpture... I'm not ready for spring yet.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, love the video of the little girl and the horses, so sweet, and cute how she manages all those carrots! What a great surveillance system, the cat and the owl, and their heads seem synchronized! All those cute little videos! My favorite is the black cat that kneads when he purrs. And then there's the cat bakers and the single cat mom!  You found a LOT of goodies for Caturday! Mike must be on his way to the airport this morning...

baz, good idea to be very cautious with Lily, those Maine Coons are BIG cats! Found this little bit about the visual differences: Siberian vs Maine Coon.  I agree with Lani, more like a Siberian.

Phyl, hoping your knee is feeling better today! I just checked on the Sauces nest, the first egg (they think) is still okay! I remember googling the area a few years ago and somewhere not too far from the nest there is an old illegal DDT dump that I thought might be the problem, but I was puzzled by the one season right in the middle of the timeline where all three eggs fledged. Puzzling! Picture below is from yesterday afternoon, Jak on the nest brooding the egg:

https://forum.hancockwildlife.org/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=129&start=2325#p770009

Lisa, cute cats taking a selfie! Love how you and Jeff name the B&B cats! They are family!  So you have a Gladys Kravitz next door!! But the wind is a good excuse for the tarps!

Puff, I too always boil the raisins (lots of raisins!) for the Oatmeal Raisin cookies, then after they are drained I shake a little flour over them before adding to the cookie dough. I don't like them to spread too much!

tsk, yay for the neighborhood guy who does the whole block of sidewalk. Why not, when you have a big snowblower, men love their big machines! Our next door neighbor has a bad leg. It looks like he has polio, he used to do his own driveway and sidewalk but finally is unable to do the snow or the lawn. Erin always doe his when he does ours.

tig, great Valentine pics!

NEFL - Debbie Botelho:  Mom & Dad have spent most of the day on the nest at NEF, and kept the Baby quite FULL, and I think it's because of the wind, they are trying to keep him grounded....lol....and it's working ❤ 🙂 ❤    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd16h5pzg9U

PHYL   A clowder of cats  ;)

BAZI  Interesting about the Maine Coon - considered the oldest native American cat breed.  Eye color dependent on coat color-  Interesting   Lily has a past life and doesn't know she is a 'gentle giant". :(   Then reading about the Siberian cat makes me wonder which two breeds joined to make her?

OH LANI    That surveillance team was so funny .Great pair.  ;D ;D

CLYNN   Bright yellow morning to compensate for our dreary one.  Erin is a wonderful guy.  :-*   That crop will definitely keep NWFL juvie "grounded"  LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA

Let's see who has faster fingers and more knowledge. . .

About 10 minutes before the hour NND looks alerted, chants his warning.  The intruder attacks him and nest, followed by NNF.  She's in the nest before intruder can even get the dad.

Looked like another raptor, not an eagle by the pattern of the tail feathers.  I'm guessing, maybe falcon but too big?

About 5 minutes later intruder was back to put nest back on alert.
Mom takes over brooding.  BTW Looks like prey at the back end of Mom.  Maybe pheasant?
