5 goslings and the parents were seen around the pond this morning, maybe the N1 goslings?

Lisa, Great pics of eagles and goose family this morning!  Is HD one of this "new" pair, anyone confirming?

I agree that it's probably the N1 family.  Five goslings of the right size and attentive MG and FG.  Good to have a fowl family to watch growing up at Decorah.

Nothing hatch-wise for geese is happening at N2B.  As of 11 AM, no visible pips on the 5 eggs.  All of the hard work of laying and incubation may come to naught for that pair this season.  RRP will make the call eventually.  Meanwhile, still hoping.

Looks like RRP agrees that the geese and 5 goslings at the Pond today are indeed the N1 family.  The goslings are so cute!  Around 4:30, they were all in the water. The goslings rush to each parent when they bring up something to eat from the bottom. The little ones are too bouyant to dive yet.

Also, from videos posted at the Decorah chat, one of the eagle pair is identified as HD.  And they appear to be building their own nest (N6) in that pasture tree.  Won't that be great?

No confirmation from RRP on that being HD, but I believe it is.  There was a close up from cam op not too long ago, and his dark tail markings and missing talon were seen.

Rainy morning at Decorah, and the cam ops got great views of the N1 family near the pond.  N1MG shelters the goslings while FG keeps watch.  No pic of them crossing the road [south of the bridge], obscured by tree branches.  About 7:30, two great blue herons were perching in trees upstream from the N1 nest.

No change at N2B as of 11 AM.

N1MG and N1FG with the 5 gosling's in the retention pond at about 2:51 pm CDT with some aunties and uncles.

They were joined by a U.S.M.O. (unidentified submerged mammalian object) that swam by.

I suspect it was a Muskrat.   ;)

That is a really cool cam shot from one of the N1 cameras right there STL.

Ethereal image of an ancient bird fishing.

When I'm getting skunked on freshwater fishing I always look to these 2 to show me the way.   8)
