BL  I remember the years of Les Paul and Mary Ford!

PHYL   Today is our hot cocoa day for sure.  In the 40's all day with a wind chill in the 30s..  I washed my winder jacket yesterday  LOL
Love that AM fabric? owl.  I think it may be paper mache based on Google search.  What great news on the Philippine eagle cam!

KB  I have noticed in recent years how difficult it is now to get regular yearly or the like doc appts and never mind if you are a new patient.  That could be months out! AND we live in big cities. :o

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, cute little good night fox, I can't quite tell who is sitting with him looking at the moon! A squirrel? I do hope Benny or Sue can get pictures of Mom Decorah and family when they can! It will be nice to see them with eaglets again!

Phyl, thanks for the info on the stained glass wind chime, I will certainly check into it! Hope all are well in your family! Love listening to the cuckoo! 68 for our high today. Picture for Maggie:

Thanks for Amy's Blog, WOW, a cam on the Philippine Eagle's nest!  And for the Disney info!

karen, I love lobelia and the colors it comes in! When I used to do the English Garden theme in my front flower bed I had all colors of lobelia along all the outside edges... don't know if you can tell in this picture...

tsk, I saw the previews of the Nat Geo program on the octopus and it looked very intriguing! Nature sometimes makes one wonder what kind of a mood God was in when he created some of the strange creatures on this earth! Ed is on week 3 of STD due to an impingement in his neck (the bicycle crash about 25 years ago). He did something that really aggravated it and has been in pain! His new doctor has prescribed P/T along with some pain meds, muscle relaxers, hot patches, etc. I suggested P/T years ago but his doctor then told him it wouldn't help, so nada. I think I will be proven right. We are seeing the same here, doctor appointments are being scheduled way farther out than they used to be! Called in Sept, got a Dec appointment. That was re-scheduled by the doctor to February.

E4E, what a beautiful beach, I love it... This is the beach at Oceanside, OR where Becky and Jennifer have a vacation home:

Sounds like you had a good time at your Aunt's birthday celebration!

some bounce

I overslept this a.m. I'll do some exercises here and some yard werk.

We had been scheduled to go up north for a couple days this week (a delayed bday treat). I called to cancel last week after getting my heart monitor and realizing there would be no cell phone coverage during the drive up/back. The resort owner was sympathetic (and we rescheduled for the Fall) but said there won't be much he could do if our reserved time doesn't rent. He explained... there was a couple who kept cancelling... their "grandma" died 4 times over a couple years! LOL. I understand his POV but we may be taking a hit $$.

KB - I wondered about the insurance too; and the cash payment for the home. An interesting back story, I'm sure.

Our Timberwolves pulled off a great win last night (sorry Mike/Lani), and our Twins had a win in the bottom of the 9th!

Great news on the new eagle cam!!!

Hump - tig We lost to you last night.  So sad.  The Bears, Bulls, Sox are all some sad teams.  Yesterday 1 run loss in the ninth.  So Sad!

Not only was the monitor a bad birthday present, now you have to wait for a getaway.  Maybe for Campers while your waiting for the later date for you; that way you'd have 2?

Puff/TSK... sorry, forgot we played the "lowly" Sox. Have hope. We are not that much better so far!  :o

Yup, Camper said he could go alone. Um. Nope. No thank you. I would be a wreck wondering if he would remember all the little things traveling involves, at this age. ETC.

Clynn, the English Garden along your front walk is lovely!  Yes, I can see the lobelia!   What is there now?
I think the tube of marigolds is what. Was on Tigs yard!  Wish it was so easy!
Tig, wonder if you and Camper would benefit from a travel insurance policy.   I know folks buy them for specific trips but I have never heard on one that that would cover the many trips you and Camper take a year!
Lisa, how is your fresh hair do
today?   Used to  get  my hair frosted and loved it!   Now it is a natural job!  Lol.

I got a text from the guy at the resort. He was able to rent Friday night. Then, he asked the folks that were staying in "our" cabin Sun - Wed if they would include Thur. nite at a discount. They agreed. So we will end up paying a bit for Thur. plus tax plus 3.5% credit card fee. Grr. I would have paid by check, had we gone.
Anyway... it was nice of him to try extra to fill it for us. I sent him a reply saying so and that I think this may have happened for a reason. Just don't know what it is. Yet.

EAGLES   How far are you from the San Diego Zoo?   If I were your brother in law I would walk to that gorgeous beach every day  LOL
How nice a day to take Mom to Sis's b-day.  Some catching up with family too.   Enjoy the ball game  ;D

Don't know if anyone had a chance to see on NatGeo the 3 part episode  " Secrets of the Octopus"  What a mind blowing show.  How they photograph some of this stuff is amazing.

TSK, I watched that 3-episode series on "Secrets of the Octopus" on Nat Geo a couple of nights ago. It was DA BOMB!!!  The octopus is one of my all-time favorite marine animals!! They are sooo smart! I have been learning about them over the years, and they command my total respect!! I'm so glad I caught that special series on them - it was fabulous, and I learned a lot more about them!! I noticed that 3-episode series will also be airing on Hulu and somewhere else, I'm trying to remember - perhaps Netflix, but maybe it was some other streaming service. Anyway, it was really incredible. I highly recommend it to any interested people who missed it - it would be worth finding a place to view it - even if online. I watched part of it twice!

Royal Albatross news!

Top Flat chick is 90 days old and weighs 7.4 kg. He was fed by LGL at 1042. The average weight for a male of this age is 7.32 kg. He was not weighed last week due to nervousness following the cam swap and had just been fed by LGK.

Top Flat Track chick is 82 days old and weighs 6.2 kg. Last week he weighed 6.4 kg, but he is in a healthy weight range and has been fed by both WYL and BOK since weighing.

Top Weight: Usually, the Observation Post chick takes out the top weight. Today he was 7.4kg, the same weight as Top Flat chick and the top weight went to Gun Pit Flat chick who was 8.4kg

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Eagles, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Kb, sorry about your appt., it happens here as well. Whether you're sick at the day of appt or family emergency it's at least 8 weeks or longer until you can get in. If you need to get in sooner for an emergency, they send you to Urgent Care or Emergency Room.

Phyl, cute owl  ;D ... and there's the sweet Cuckoo  :-* ... wonderful news about the Philippine Eagle Cam. It's a magnificent creature in a beautiful country. Great to see a thread too. .. Thanks for Disney articles, I'll read later.  :)

Tsk, I tried to find a new GP here in Payson, it's a 6 - 9 mo wait for a new patient. And consider Payson population is 5800+, but they also deal with the surroundings small towns and off the grid population...  So, if we have an emergency we go to Urgent Care or Emergency Room. I'd love to move my yearly appts up here. Anyway, in September I'll make an appt for my yearly checkup with a new Dr. in Payson. I want to be prepared if someday Mike can't make that drive down to the valley.

Clynn, Sorry to hear Ed is continuing to have pain and discomfort.  :(  Sending prayers for him.....  beautiful spring orange colors... sitting next to fox, is mate and kit.  ;D ... sweet pics of the S & S  :-*  ... I love lobelia too. Love your beautiful English Garden.  :-*

{{{Tig}}} glad you were able to get your rental costs worked out..  ;D.... Congrats on game!

Hi Puff, Karen, Eagles, Baz  ;D

Mike will be returning from Gila Bend today.
Hopefully he will be able to get an allergy shot before he returns.
The pollen from the Junipers and the smoke from the controlled forest fires are bothersome for all.
Take care Everyone!  :-*

HAPPY DAY, BEAKERS!  :)

A lot of home purchases are all cash these days - it's how some people have been getting their offers accepted over other offers during the tight housing market. All cash offers don't have to meet many of the mortgage banking/loan requirements, such as insurance... the bank doesn't put a lien on a title for a home bought with all cash since it is bought in full outright by the new owner.

Clynn, I love that pic of the kittens!  :-* Are they pretty much inseparable? It sounds like they and Harley all got along okay while you were away. Hate you have to go through the separate feeding routine. I know someone who has to do that with their cats. I hope Ed gets some relief with the multi-prong treatment approach. I have to ask, LOL, what you mean in your post by STD - it's always stood for "sexually transmitted disease" in my medical abbreviations mind. LOL, I'm certain that isn't what it means in your post!  ;D

E4E, glad you all could get together for your aunt's birthday! Happy Birthday to your Aunt!  :D

Phyl, I love that papier-mâché owl!

Lani, that's an great report on the Albie chicks' weights! Love the picture - lucky people who work with them, and lucky for the Albies! Thanks for sharing!  :-*  Glad to hear Mike returns home today, and fingers crossed also after getting an allergy shot, and hope he gets some relief.

Take care, All!  :)

Baz - I know. But this one appears to have been a cover for a business....and we don't know how this couple paid cash for it...we've looked at the hennepin county records for who owns it. And know who. 7 or more people lived there or came and went. And  maybe nobody lived there permanently.

Appears to be a potential location for multiple labor workers..and then for Grandma.

That is not the point, however, other than no insurance means no recovery.

The point is why did the gas cause a house implosion? And then what wlll happen to our neighborhood?

CLYNN   Sam and Sophie are really getting big!!!   I can't get lobelia to grow in the ground - I always have to pot it.  STD?  ( See BAZI's comment)  LOL   Sounds like Ed is on a good regimen.  Oceanside - Gorgeous.  Between Becky and Jennifer's home - vacation home - and all the weeks at your Mom's, they keep busy!!!   Bingham mine - mindboggling the size of it.

TIG   Too bad for sure.  For as often as you guys go to this place I'm surprised he's going to make you pay full price for cancelling.  Reading on I see that he was able to get some renters - and like you say " it happened for a reason".

BAZI  So glad you had a chance to watch the "Secrets"...  Great that folks are studying and learning about these amazing creatures who maybe have still a lot more to tell us.   That is how we sold our Door County place.  We had 3 offers and took the cash offer!

LANI     Gun Pit FLat baby is a real tubby  LOL   In this day and age we have to be so proactive about healthcare...Mike had a few days rest at home and now returning but maybe in Gila Bend there is less allergy discomfort when he is there?

Aaaas! Pretty pink sweater!  Lolol what is with the hair sticking up?    Such a pretty baby! Did she eat with you?
The eyes are fabulous!
I have to say that between the stds and kbs house that is a cover for a business, this old lady is turning bright pink!  Lolol.

The blue flower I was trying ti think of the other day is Agapanthus!  Most of you would have to dig it up to overwinter!   May try to find some!
