LISA   I could eat a nice chilled cantaloupe in one sitting  LOLOL   You bet .  Pizza at Giordano's  ;D

BAZI   Of course being from Wisconsin it was a family long weekend for us kids often at the Dells.  We had to do the Duck boat rides - an amphibious vehicle that would pretend to be stuck on a small island in the river.   In my childhood years I truly wondered if it was real   LOLOL     Never heard  " R U N N O F T" before  :o

OLDGUY    LOLOLOL

Tsk, I bet that was great fun as kids riding the big Duck boats and playing at the island! That "r-u-n-n-o-f-t" is dialog from 2 different scenes from my fav movie - "O Brother, Where Art Thou." My sister and I loved that movie and all the funny things in the dialog, and she and I now often use "o-f-t" in our texts, as a throwback adopted silly use of that from that movie. Ha ha!!  ;) :D

Good Lord Almighty, KB!!! Glad everyone is okay - and hope that family's Grandma will be, too. I imagine she suffered injury from the blast - concussive, and maybe hearing issues, as well. Hope she recovers okay. So glad no one else hurt and others' property's are mostly unscathed, or at least as far as you know, except for some smoke and smaller burned areas. Glad your windows didn't break! Hard to believe Vi's windows didn't break, being next door! Take care.

Have a good day, Beakers! Stay safe, All!  :)

CLYNN  Good to have you back - I had no competition for the AM post time  LOLOL  You covered a lot of bases while home.  Will presume Mom's doc test went well.  Did you ever get to Home Goods?  Good that you gave Mom some homework to do while she is without company   ;)      How was that long drive with one eye!!

KAREN   I noted that my first hummer last year was May 7th.  I get my feeder out by the first.  Love the story about Mom and the watermelon - life was so much simpler then!

KB   Oh my gosh!!!!  What a way to greet the day.  So glad Grandma walked out unscathed.  Were Dennis and Vi home?   Feel so bad for the new home owners...lawsuit?   Great that all that attn. will be given to Vi's home.

LANI   Gorgeous AM cactus in bloom  :)

PUFF   Just home from picking up Barb and Tom at O'Hare.     66 here.  Feels better than yesterday's 47  LOL

BAZI   I so agree about Vi's windows not being blown out!!!

tsk, yes, Mom's test was good! The checked her heart valve(s)?. There was some blockage but not enough to need any surgery. Especially not for someone almost 90! The ride was okay, I tried an eye cover but for some reason it just didn't work. Next I am going to try taping my eyelashes down to keep my eye shut! Glad to hear Tom and Barb made it home safely. 69 and windy here!

kb, what a scary happening! Same thing happened in Des Moines a couple of years ago. I don't remember ever hearing exactly what caused the gas to explode, but that house was also totally demolished. It's a good thing that you have to have insurance when you buy a house!

baz, funny that you and sis use the words from that movie for fun purposes! My sister Cathy remembers all the phrases from movies, she often spouts off something from a Monty Python movie like:  https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?&q=monty+pythion+biggus+dickus&&mid=F08C1D1CAD115C4F2832F08C1D1CAD115C4F2832&&FORM=VRDGAR
Not everyone appreciates Monty Python, but we sure do! LOLOL!

karen, here is your sloth video:  https://www.grunge.com/1318228/why-sloths-dont-fart/    And here is the one about the San Diego Zoo and the Black-footed Ferret:   https://science.sandiegozoo.org/species/black-footed-ferret

Lani, love that blooming cactus!  Oh no, I was so hoping Louis would leave Iris along this year... I hope another female finds Swoop, he is a good osprey Dad! Oh, all is good with the 3 cats now!  I just need to solve the food situation, for now I am feeding them separately.

nr posted on FB, FINALLY ospreys have returned to the Wells Fargo nest!! One egg so far! Both adults are on the nest right now, one is brooding. And today a second egg!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

CLYNN   Now I've got to find Monty Python movies and watch again.  ;) ;)  They were so funny.   NR had posted that here about WF and the osprey nest.  I remember when you worked there how you would post that.  Good to see they are back.

LISA   Tim came in from bringing the garbage cans back in the garage and said " It's like a hurricane out there!"

Clynn - they didn't purchase insurance for the house yet....they paid cash for the house...7 of them that is.

Total loss so while Dennis and Vi have been here while they restore the inside of their house we said:

the city will probably try to build an apartment complex on that lot...LOL

an inside joke.

The Beach in Pacific Grove, Ca

Phyl- Awe, Age 67 was too young for your Dad and Puff's to pass.  Hugs for you both. {{}}      So happy that your sweet little Maggie keeps hangin' in there!! ;D :-*      Thanks for links and all the nest cam pics!    Love DNN! :)

Lani- I know you walk with Sadie early every morning.  Hoping you are starting to get a little bit warmer mornings, or maybe it is still too soon.(?)  Either way, good for you in how you faithfully walk with your sweet Sadie! :)

Clynn- Welcome home Clynn!! ;D  I bet you quite a welcome from all in your household!! ;D   Sounds like everyone had a great time!!

Karen- I sure wish I could enjoy some of your Satsuma fruit later on when it starts ripening on your tree!!  You are so lucky! :)     Wonderful to hear that the San Diego Zoo & Scientists are working together.

LisaG - 'Salon' day!!! I'm sure it was a fun and relaxing time for you!!   I have noticed those high winds in Decorah too  ??? ::)

Kb- Such a terrible and scary situation for you and the neighborhood this morning.  Thank goodness the grandmother made it out of the house safely.  So glad you were safe. I can only imagine how scary it must have been to hear such an explosion. :o ::)

Tig- Sounds good to have gone to the pool, but wish it were a lil bit warmer!

Puff- You had 67 in your area today, and we had only 62!

Baz- Like your 'oft' story! ;D

Tsk- Bet it was great to see Barb & Tom again!  So nice you picked them up from the Airport and probably chatted all the way home! :)

Lori, Og, Bl, Nr  :)

Beakers have a good night.

TSK- pretty cherry blossoms this AM; I have no idea why watermelon isn't stocked to much extent. Summertime staple when I was a child. Odd how
salting makes it sweet.

CLYNN- nice to see your posts, seems like 'forever' since they've greeted us. So glad to read all's well with your Mom and on your safe return to find Ed,
Kelsey and the fur babies doing well. Many thanks for Norwich Cathedral Hawk and Owl Trust snap. Looks good there.

LISA- Your AM  picture reminds me---I've had  a slice of Mom's homemade fruit pie for dessert for breakfast many times as a teenager---no I wasn't fat---bone thin.
Worried my Dad to no end...but  Doc said I was getting al the food groups and it was homemade so don't fret. Go figure...wouldn't fly these days though.

LANI-lovely cacti blossoms today about prettiest cactus photo I''ve seen in ages. I'd love to have a chat with Iris about Louis and Louis about Iris.
Glad to see the WG nest is brooding and a second egg. Tks for snaps.

TSK/KAREN- I had marked my calendar for March on hummers. Time got away from me, I thought I was late so... only just three  days ago got the clear nectar feeder  out and hung some  red petunias on the feeder pole next to that. I hope we have some this yea. Last season only had two---did some investigating to fine
a neighbor  two streets up and feeders out and is my 'competition'  ::)

KAREN- never heard of the Satsuma tree so Googled and it's an Owari Mandarin orange tree. Quite decorative when potted and only one is
needed for fruit production. Love mandarin oranges and if I were a neighbor would be asking to buy some.

HI EAGLES- thanks for you thoughtful comment about Dad.  In just  5 months, would out live him by a year.  "Odd' sort of feeling that is as like Dad, I'm the
youngest in my family. Lovely snap of Pacific Grove, Ca beach--water so clear.

OG- tks for music links will listen later tonight; Claire has some really decorative 'fashion accessory' harnesses for the kitties.   ;)
Walter's D'Artagnan made a great recovery  :)   Minion- LOL and true.

-Mercy! That house explosion!!  So very close to you. How scary for the neighborhood.
Hopefully upon inspection no  damages, beyond the smoke. Thankfully the grandmother was taken out of the house before it exploded
