PHYL  You always post such beautiful seasonal items  :)  Trempealeau nest looks like it is in a pine tree.

CLYNN  Interesting Bloomberg listing.  Some losing funds..  13 girls - Yikes

LANI   LOLOL   Just tried to find an update on the Brooks family - no luck.  Wish they had named the little boy something else. :-\  Still have on the docket:
Tim's son et al, B&T and Uncle Jim for lunch tomorrow.   Barb has dinner for us on the 25th,   Barb hosts a brunch the 28th for Tim/Tom's sisters and cousins and families,  30th I bring lunch to nieces home and catch up on their lives ( the one with the Broadway bound dtr). Then I'm done  LOL  If Tim is off insulin before his bro leaves for the winter to Florida we'd like to take them out for their 50th which have not done yet.

TIG  How cool is that watching granddtr returning home on the Abraham Lincoln - Where had they been?   Making good headway today  ;D

OLDGUY    It's my processor.  I'll look for a new computer next year.  :(  Thanks for your help.

Good Afternoon Beakers

Lori - Good to see you!  I hope you and Destini are doing OK.

Phyl - Love the pic of Mr N giving the nest his seal of approval.   The breakfast board looks yummy!  Very colorful greetings this morning.

oldguy - Ditto what Lani said, thank you for all you do.

Lani - When baz mentioned she didn't see Oma listed, it rang a bell in my head.   ;D ;D your pup with the Redi-Whip!

clynn - From one of the recent studies and hearings this is what was said about the cost..... According to recent reports, replacing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge would likely cost between $7.3 billion and $8.4 billion depending on the design and number of lanes included in the new bridge structure; this estimate comes from Maryland transportation authorities considering a potential replacement project.

tsk - I had to look up the 1st and 3rd name on your list of female billionaires, the others I knew.  Cute Christmas greeting this morning.

tig - Making good progress with the tree.  Very cool you get to see granddaughter on web cam live.

Trempealeau Eagles

View from the nest shows the train speeding by...I can just hear the  'thump' of the wheels on the track.
Hopefully our pair are out hunting or better yet  soaring the skies and stretching their wings.

Here's a Google Maps link to the location of the Trempealeau Eagles nest.

The nest is in a pine tree about 300 feet from the RxR tracks that are just above the Mississippi River on the Wisconsin Side.

Zoom, Pan and Street View the G map as usual.  :)

I saw that many times watching T nest last year tsk.  Would notice the different colors or number of cars in the drive.

That also where you could here the trains, too.

Last week  I ran my  ' PC Health At A Glance'  ...trouble w/ Win 11 upgrade  are  hardware issues , incl my processor for my current PC ...a 14yr old DELL with   other hardware upgrades ...over the years I had added memory and extra hard drive. If it weren't for Win 11 issues I'd keep it forever. LOL  This 'Ol PC is lacking in so much no other choice but replace it all.

I had heard of the Brooks Family a couple of decades ago... a sad story IMHO

Hello Beakers

A little chilly and breezy here today - a high of 30 and winds 15-20 during the day.  Similar temp for tomorrow with out the wind.

tsk - not a simple task to change CPU - it usually requires a new motherboard and sometimes the RAM - new computer is the better route.

Phyl - that Dell has served you well - 5-7 years is an average replacement time.

Tig, how wonderful to be able to see granddaughter return home on the USS Abraham Lincoln. It's an awesome ship, much thanks for her service.  ;D

Puff, It would be interesting to know how many grandchildren and great grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Brooks had. I'm sure it's great great greats by now.

Tsk, The next few days will be filled with family dinners and church activities too.  You'll be thankful for a quiet January. Then you'll start spring cleaning!  ;D

BL, thanks, it's a nice location for the Trempealeau Eagles. I hope they stay away from the power lines.

Phyl, I looked through your info you posted about the Brooks Family. Why is it a sad story?

Hi Lisa, that is a lot of $$$$ for the bridge.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, There is very little on the web about the Brooks Family. I found this little snip: The family, who lives in a remodeled school house, had prepared a pink layette for the baby's arrival. "Now that I have a boy, I hope it will be the end," said Mr. Brooks, a $50-a-week truck driver. And this article that doesn't really say much:  https://allchronology.com/2024/02/06/a-chorus-of-sisters-unpacking-the-brooks-family-photo-1954/ And the obituary of the father:  https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/15971767/lloyd_milton-brooks  Love the kitty sleeping by the fireplace...

karen, so how was that orange? When Ed's sister lived in Scottsdale (or was it Mesa) she had an orange tree, it was blooming when I visited her. Heavenly!

old guy, I am on my 3rd PC since I got my first one in 2005, fits well into the average replacement time! Thanks for all the goodies, I will enjoy them after I get this post done! How busy have you been at work?

BL, I remember in the mid 70s, Blue Sunday in Missouri, when no liquor or certain other items could be sold on Sundays. There was crime scene like tape around the items you could not purchase. When I was very young I can remember going from Illinois over to Indiana to the Sears & Roebuck store, Grandpa took us every Saturday because there was no sales tax there!  I bet that sunset view was gorgeous!

Phyl, when my Aunt Linda got married in the later 50s they rented rooms in a house right next to railroad tracks. We loved it when a train went by, it shook the whole house!  Beautiful picture of the Trempealeau nest, with the snow!

Lisa, wow on the cost of a new bridge! They better start a savings account! Wonder if it's because the bridge is starting to deteriorate or because of the huge amount of traffic?
