CLYNN   Love that door hanger - another easy project.   The big catalogs were the best!   I was not much of a fashion follower.  High school was a uniform!!    Think this is the first time we've ever seen a belly button on the baby.

I just checked with my computer guy who used to live here ( now married and lives in Tn.)   He said just wait til early next year - He has heard that some computers may be able to support Win 11 afterall.

PHYL  Thanks for the date - I knew we had time.  Thanks for the link - I've book marked it.

Gotta run - back in a bit

bounce

Picking our tree and getting it home, inside, in the stand and watered went well. They use names for inventory. Luv it.

The pool was cool again. Time for a warm drink.

BL I bet in a year's time you spend more time away from home than home???  I bet that was a gorgeous view.  Do you ever repeat adventures?

tsk34 I strive for about 60 home 40 away on average.

I absolutely repeat adventures.

My top 10 I hold dear to my memory.

BL is there snow on the ground in Vermont?

Wonder how many miles you have hiked in your lifetime ..

Trail Condition.
At the time of our hike up Mount Mansfield in VT there was about a foot of hard packed 'trail'.
In the pines to either side of the tread 2 feet of heavy wet down in the bows.

Clynn in 2020 I did some back of the envelope math on that in a spread sheet.
My criteria was hiking boot miles with a back pack on.

After I got done with all of the long distance backpacking trips and approaches to climbs and day-hikes miles.

Impossible to calculate really.

Hiking boot miles with a back pack on walked around the Equator once absolutely.

Probably coming up on twice by now.

PHYL   I used your link and same thing was said - the processor.

PUFF   You got that right  - more attention to the game and not where it is played.  Are you casted now on your wrist?

TIG  I may have missed something...the new wire - was that for a water meter on the side of the house?   Love Fraser firs.  That's what we used to get when we did real trees.  Have fun with the new tree.  ;D

LANI   Very creative rock sculpture  ;D

LISA   I always show my puzzles - never fear  ;) ;)

BL  Thanks for the stats - My guess was the opposite  LOL   I would not doubt you'e been around the earth once at least!

KB   Sit tight and let it snow, let it snow.   Nothing big except "maybe" less than an inch.  Nice that sis stopped by today  :)

TSK... for ever... there was a box on the house with a register and a wire leading down through the window well to the water meter. About 10 years ago the removed the outside register and used a register inside, at the meter. Now they say that system wasn't accurate nor sustainable so they are going back to the old system. Of course we will all pay for it on our bills.

Hello Beakers

TSK - this video talks about the options on installing Win 11 on a non-supported computer
Microsoft Now Allowing Windows 11 on Unsupported Hardware   -   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfUjB7k59kE

The major stumbling block for Win 11 is a requirement for a chip called TPM 2.0 - this is a hardware security feature - it prevents online hacks into a computer.  Computer experts have been installing Win 11 on to non compliant computers for about 2 years.  The major issue is online security - Win 11 will be relying on TPM for the security where older Windows relied on software solutions.  After Oct. 2025 any Win 11 without  TPM 2.0 will be vulnerable to hacks, is what I read between the lines in Microsoft's new instructions.
There has also been much discussion about what CPU is in the computer - Microsoft is not including many CPUs that the manufacturer states supports TPM 2.0 - this issue has never been clarified by Microsoft as to why they are listed as non-supported.

I will be making my change to Win 11 in the summer - and determine then if I upgrade my motherboard or not.  My board has TPM 2.0 but it is not turned on.

oldguy - wow, that was fabulous...thanks!
Our city has a parade with fire, ambulance, police etc. decorating their vehicles for the little ones.
Nothing as fabulous as this...wonder how they did that?...computer some how.

Reminds me my sis just had a company put permanent lights on her house that move with music. She has about 100 different choices for all holidays too. During the rest of the year very visible lighting for her house. She learned about it from her son.
She sent me a video of her first night and will continue to do so as they change it up. Very professional.
I tried to copy it here but couldn't as it's a video. I'll have to take a picture of it off my puter and share tomorrow maybe.

Howdy Beakers!  :)

I ran errands today, and tried to finish getting everything I needed before Christmas so I wouldn't have to fight the crowds during the last few days before then. I thought that I would beat the crowds - talking about grocery shopping kind of thing, not gift shopping - specialty meal and snack items and regular grocery items - hoping to only need to make any last minute run for fresh items that I need to get very close to using, like fresh veggies, and very little of that is on my list for between now and Christmas Day. Boy was I wrong about beating the crowd! Cars were lined up waiting to get into parking spaces at Trader Joe's... ugh... I kept going when I saw that, and decided to come back after doing my other errands. The traffic was busy!! - just early afternoon - and I had to sit through 3 light cycles before getting through one intersection on my way to pay a bill that I always only pay in person now (it's a story).  Oh well, there was no hurry, really, so I listened to Jonathan Winters' reading of Dickens' A Christmas Carol on NPR on the radio while I was in the car. It was a nice "throwback" to listen and pass the time more enjoyably than counting how many traffic light cycles I was sitting through.  :)

For those who enjoy the story, here it is... It might make for good seasonal accompaniment during hot chocolate sipping, lighted tree gazing, jigsaw puzzle working, or just sitting and relaxing with eyes closed:

https://www.npr.org/2004/12/13/4225458/jonathan-winters-a-christmas-carol - Jonathan Winters' 'A Christmas Carol'
(Part of the NPR's Holiday Favorites special series... It's 58 minutes long, and the first 6 minutes is an interesting intro.)

Good night, (((Beakers))). Peace. SED.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, it's so heartwarming to see tiny little eaglets again! And so the world turns...Kelsey adores her brother, I think because he teases her a lot. He is very, very good with her and makes her laugh a lot! I am wishing and praying for some snow for you!  Sweet good night doggie...

Phyl, love your good night kitty! I can't imagine trying to put a sweater on any of my cats!

baz, yes, it's crowded everywhere! Lots of people must take the whole week off before Christmas! I went to Sam's and it was packed at 10:00 in the morning. Gas was $2.36, and no lines there! Had to pick up prescriptions at the grocery store, it was also crowded! Thanks for A Christmas Carol, I will be watching it this afternoon!

oldguy, the Wyoming MN fire department video - Great!  Love the Walter Santi, always do!

BL, you have been about everywhere I am sure, and there would be no way to know how many miles, but we know - A LOT of miles on boots with a broken lug... Can you tell us what your Top Ten adventures were?

Lisa, you find such pretty Christmassy mugs!

tsk, never had to wear school uniforms. Ed did, he went to Catholic Schools, in High School, the boys went to Griffin, the girls went to Sacred Heart. (they were de-segrated in the 90s). But I think it must be different for boys, fashion wise! I wonder if they still have uniforms?

SWFL - Sharon Dunne - Beautiful First DUAL FEEDING By M15 & F23 For E's! 💕 Short But Sweet! 💕  VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHhBT9N4bAs
We have our first dual feeding of the season! ♥ M15 is on the nest and he gets up and begins to feed fish to E24 (on the left) and then to E25 (right). A few minutes later, F23 lands on the veranda tip and she is vocalizing. She drops to the nest and takes the red meat that M15 brought in today and begins to offer it to E25 while M15 offers fish to E24! Our first dual feeding! It didn't last very long as F23 took M15's fish away and then feed both E's from it. M15 went to the attic to perch.
F23 did a great job offering bites to both E's! We do have a tiny bit of sibling rivalry when E25 gives a tiny peck to E24 who did not like that and retaliated with a bonk. E25 gets right back up for the feeding. Two strong hatchlings! I hope we see more dual feedings from M15 & F23! Footage includes cam 1 and the 360! Enjoy the video!

OLDGUY   How do you know if your "board " has TPM2??  Thanks for the link.   Lots of good links this AM

KB   WOW  That is quite a display your sis has... :o

BAZI   Our Trader Joes parking is way too small for the amount of traffic that store generates.  I find I need to go either very early or very late.  What a cool link to A Christmas Carol.  I could pull that up on my phone.  Thanks

CLYNN  WOW  $2.36 for gas  :o :o   Good parenting at SWFL  :)

HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY, OMASAYER
