Happy Veterans Day!  Clynn, a great tribute to those who served!   An unsung but supportive group are the families at home, particularly the WW11 who lived with intense rationing!  That total involvement has not been seen since.

Temperature is currently  73 degrees with 90% humidity.  The high today will be in the 80’s.  THE SWAMP!
Hope all have a good day!

Thanks Lisa!

Good luck Baz to LGN!  Praying the labs continue in the right direction!
Waves to all Beakers and .seds!

Karen, thanks! :)  I got word this morning that LGN is due to be discharged early tomorrow!! She and her parents are booked to fly home at noon tomorrow from BOS Logan. WOOT!!  :-* :-*  (And fingers crossed it doesn't change!) Thanks for your news post from FB, via Lisa - Thanks, Lisa!  :) I think those people need to be heavily fined. And I think those signs should include info about fines (or charges) being assessed for violators - like they do for construction zone reduced speed signs. There needs to be a serious enforcement action to make people stop doing stupid shit that endangers them, other people, and responders.

((Lisa)), thanks for posting Karen's NC FB news link.  :) Thanks for your good wishes for my LGN, too.  :-* She's supposed to be discharged early Tuesday morning!! Yay!!  :D  Some family relationships sure get complicated, don't they?!? My family deals with some of that, too!! Don't you wish that by the time we were all adults that we all would do better with that kind of thing? It sure would make life less stressful!! Your (step) niece is very lucky to have your concern, love, and big-time help!! I hope she shows you some sincere appreciation, and also agrees to work harder on her "adulting" skills you mentioned once before.  ;) :D :-*  Hugs to you!!  :-*

HAPPY VETERANS DAY, BEAKERS!  :)

I'm still in the process of reading all the posts since yesterday afternoon, but wanted to stop by real quick to say...

Yay! My LGN is supposed to be discharged from the hospital early tomorrow morning! She and her family are scheduled for a noon flight home from Boston tomorrow! Fingers crossed!  :D

(((Clynn))), thank you for posting the tribute to Beak and Cheers Forum members and their relatives who served in the armed forces!!  :-* :-*  Let me know what you decide about a walking pad. I don't know anything about them, other than seeing people using them at work in the past, on TV and in videos, for example. I just now googled them, and boy! there sure are many models and options and price points!!  :o  I'd be hard-pressed to get one I couldn't try out first. I did find this review of one particular model, from almost a year ago (Jan. 2024), and found it helpful in terms of generally what to look out for, tips, and pros and cons, as well as a review of one particular model from last January. It was a "Today Show" review, and I have no idea if all the related ads at this link for that review are also from a year ago... just FYI, and sharing, in case you're interested in what this person's experience was:
https://www.today.com/health/diet-fitness/walking-pad-review-rcna134124 (This is from last January 2024, FYI!)

Tig, thanks. Smooth travels, and have another fun day!

Phyl, Navy cats!  :D

Lani, smooth travels to and from the valley! I'm guessing you're helping Shannon again today.  :)

Thanks to All the Beakers for your kind wishes of support, finger-crossing, and prayers for my LGN and Family!! Hugs and  :-* :-* to you all!  :D

Waving to All the Beakers! Have a good day!!  :)

AMEN to what baz said about people in NC and their actions aka shit.  I had thoughts and even talked to them as I read your post.  Can I add my thoughts?  It really is so wrong for them to go around the signs.  What it does achieve is a waste of time, lives, and $$$$  just to save and rescue the fools from themselves.     Thanks.

Puff, it was an NC News FB post that reported about some people who drove around a closed road sign.

Point of origin VS not arriving at all ever again anywhere.

Morons that drive around ROAD CLOSED signs is irrelevant.

Emergency Services Personnel put the signs up for a very good reason !!!

When you go around those signs you don't just put you and your family's life at risk BUT ALSO the 1st responders lives that have to go and try to save your stupid ass.   ::) ::)

When we were down in Watauga County, NC right after Helene went through we saw plenty of people drive around the road closed signs.   >:( :( :o
MOST Only to return 5/10/15 minutes later the way they went in _ why _ because there was no road, no bridge, land slides, standing/ raging flowing water that may or may not have a road under it, tangled fallen trees that you would have needed a helicopter to get around ..... etc .....   ::)

Barb and Tom who are in Florida for November reported going out to eat breakfast this morning.  Of course Tom always wears his Vietnam cap.   A man at the next table came up to them and said he noticed Toms cap and said he too was ia Vietnam vet - stateside assignment a few years later than Tom's years of service.   When B&T left - Their bill had been paid and were also given a $20 gift certificate to the restaurant!!

PHYL  Cute Navy cat  ;D

KAREN   At times like you have today in the SWAMP  just remember Chicago crisp sunny mid 50's - low, low humidity  LOLOL

LANI   Hugs to you and Shannon.  :-*

BAZI   Great news for Punkin'  But my big "what if" is what to do if it happens again???  Wonder what they changed to make it all good???   Pray it is the right "change" whatever they did. :-*   Walking pad - hand holders for me are a must.  I will google more of them when done with this post.  I did and many have rails.  My MIL had one eons ago and it seemed more difficult to generate your own power to make the steps than to have you "forced" to step on a treadmill.  What ever works!  Outside hiking is the best  LOLOL

TIG  Any more adventures before the end of the year???

Tsk don’t think I haven’t thought about the Cris days in Chicago Sundays. I even take the snow would be a wonderful fit problem being where to go and how I could maneuver around and get doctors that I need so I said sit here in the swamp. Lol lol OL.
Talked with a gal I used to work with who lives far north Chicago the other day who has a sister in Eagle River, Wisconsin and while I was talking in the first eagle river even sounded like a place to move. I’m sure they have one doctor in town someplace.
Good for the people in the restaurant visited by a time and their actions. It’s a little late for a thank you but it’s great that that happened. They probably were nice at the time the war ended. Anyway,
BL you are correct grade observations and I cannot imagine you would chance driving down or falling down the side of a mountain in your car hit by a rock slides or even the idiots. That drive through the railroad crossings with the gates are down takes all kinds

Lenny with a sad day for you, helping Shannon pack up to move away and how exciting for her to start a new journey in her life. Hugs to you both.

As I agree with Tesk about LGN and her medical condition, praying all goes well, and nothing happens to force an unscheduled return to Boston. I’m thinking LGN will grow up to be some form of medical person working in a hospital as she seems to get along  there very well and has a good understanding of what all this is about, she will be a welcome  addition
to the Medical world

Whie everyone was posting I made a sub note on my post earlier post saying egg number two has been laid at six WFLF f23 is very fast and I’m wondering when she’s going to stop laying eggs and 15 is going to be a busy fisherman,

Karen Tks  for SWFL update  & second egg ready .

Lisa   Safe travels...ditto Tsk's mom and my parents  ;)

Tsk  Dan has same type  'camo 'cap with his years of service in Nam;  Larry prefers not to think about it. The  war stories those two have told.  :o  Very nice gesture to B and T

Tig thanks. Safe travels home & have another fun day!

Lani   to {{{you and Shannon}}}.  :-*

Bazi   Congrats to LGN on her upcoming discharge from hospital; your gif of tree with falling autumn leaves reminds me of the 1950's
song  'When Autumn Leaves  start to fall.'  Or better know as 'Autumn leaves'.

Tks for all the  Veteran's Day posts & tributes. Esp enjoyed the article on 'Cats in the Navy' if I do say so myself.  ;D ;)
Time for 'chow' best get to 'it' before the rest of the H/H starts to complain.   LOL
