Really great pics, Lisa! I love watching the eagles obtaining their nesting materials.
See panorama pic for location of N2B (orange arrow) and the new site (orange circle) for HM & HD building a nest, which looks like it overhangs the road from the horse pasture and bridge corner. This view isn't quite wide enough to show the horse barn and N1, but they are off to the left.
Questions: Is the new tree alive, just without leaves yet? What kind of tree is it?
That new tree was in full bloom when I was in Decorah last summer, so I am guessing it is still alive.
I am not positive, but think its a Cottonwood, too.
I know we're on gosling hatch watch here at the Trout Creek Decorah Tri Nest area.
N1, N2B and the new nest N6.
• I too believe that HM & HD's new nest - N6 - is in a Cottonwood Tree and the tree is alive.
• The N6 nest tree (of 3 trees) is the one closest to Trout Creek to the north of it and JUST to the NW corner of the Siewers Spring Rd bridge.
I have no idea what happened to the Hatchery Eagles 'Bluff Nest' that they built on top of the bluffs this past Fall, but obviously something went amiss.
The current as of 04/13/24 Decorah Eagles evolving nest locations and goings on with some orientation.
N1 goose 6 eggs _ gosling hatching in progress.
N2B goose 4 eggs.

1st the satellite map link _ A = N1, B = N2B and C = N6.

2nd image = Google maps street view (May of 2023) looking west from the Siewers Spring Rd bridge.
Note:
The Exact N6 nest location in my 2nd image is approximate.
I ain't never been there.
I may have gotten turned around a wee bit on the mirror view from the N1 camera.
I'm confident on the correct N6 tree however.
