Goose cam is now Live at Decorah's N2B.  Someone will create a location here on the Forum eventually.

Meanwhile, one of the eagles visited the Y and N1 this morning about 10:00.  I'm guessing HD.

A goose landed in N1 this morning, and stayed for quite a while, till one of the eagles, sounded like HM flew above N1.

Well, at least we know the geese know that there's a second nest that might be available.  Watch and learn!

Here's a pic from the Goose Cam at N2B this morning about 8:00.  A pair has been back and forth to sit for a while then fly away several times.  Not much honking going on so far today.

How about shortening the moniker to DGC, for Decorah Goose Cam?  Eventually someone will create a Forum location for posting just about the geese.  Maybe waiting to see if there will be two nests to watch.   :D

Looks like HD this morning on bluff perch, and a lower bluff tree

Lisa, seems like HM must be sitting on eggs most of the time.  I was thinking the perching eagle was HD, too.
And a sweep of the rewind reveals that a goose visited N1 this morning, and might be a pair of geese in the creek below N1 area.
OMG -- think of the babies that could be jumping from high nests this spring!

Sounds like there might be a few geese in the creek below N1 with all that honking going on.  ;D

A few morning pics from Decorah - A sub-adult was perched with what looked like HD.  HD flew out, and sub did too shortly after.

Lisa, that's a very large sub-adult, so probably female don't you think?  Anyhow, glad it didn't stay to confuse HD!

Geese are exploring the area of N1. Several in the creek below and on the grassy banks this morning.

STL, I agree...I thought it looked like a nice size female.

Last evening around 6:15pm or so, HM arrived on nest grabbed some nesting, put it down and then moved up to the Y.  Earlier this morning, HD was seen on tree next to Spooky tree eating a very large fish.

And a goose visited N1 about 9:00 this morning!  Several geese were in the creek below also.

I assume a female goose was digging out a nest bowl this AM in N1.

And there is definitely some CG competition going on in N1.

Looks like we'll have 2 goose cams this year.

BL, you got great pics of the geese games at N1 this morning!
I'm wondering if it is the same pair that has been visiting N2B, or different pair and others?  My timing estimates are not really reliable, even though I thought it was about the same time for geese on N2B and N1, which would mean different pairs.  The folks at Explore might know for sure, or mods at the chat rooms.

One of the eagles was perching in trees at the bluffs near where they have the new nest, also early morning.

Beautiful HM arrives on the Y, as the geese flew out when they seen her coming.
