I did almost forget it was December!  Here we are!

Erin asked if I could watch the kids for a while this evening, of course I said yes! Had to go to Target so I picked up a couple of surprises!

Lisa, love that unique teapot!  Below is a picture from my Texas visit, Jennifer was fixing a cup of tea for all of us! I would love to see a picture of you pumping back then! I follow the Momo FB page, just hadn't seen a post recently until now. I hope Andrew has been able to tame his demons...

E4E, yes I am motivated to get down there in the Mole Hole and purge!! It's just killing me that I am losing a day since they aren't leaving until tomorrow! willi was such a character, loved by all. So very glad that I got to meet her and Jerry!  And just like we say, it was like we had known each other for years!

Puff, what fun, a Ladies get together in the neighborhood! I wish they did that here! I do get together with Vickie and Joni across the street quite often, we like to sit in the driveway with a beverage and just talk when it's warm.

Phyl, post a pic of your lovely nativity scene with the pretty lights! Good luck to Jim on the car search!

When opening our blinds this morning in McGregor, I saw something on the ice.  After my eyes focused, this is what I saw.  There was an 8-pt. buck (with one tine missing) on the ice and couldn't stand up.  I called the Aitkin DNR and they came out and got it off.  They said that there were some wounds on it also from a coyote.  It could have bitten it on the ice, or it was running from it.  We're just glad we got him off and he ran away.

Courtesy of Paulette Kruger.

Awe, glad they got him off...yes, too many coyotes......McGregor is due north of me.

Rutt has been spotted on trail cams. As of yesterday he's near Perham, MN...northwest of me...they say lots of folks "up north" have trail cams so may be able to track him for awhile yet?

Been busy busy...heading out for a walk with Ollie, Later.

New local spot tsk maybe about 2 years open.  Actually name gives a clue to its location, 3 Corners Grill and Bar, Darien/Downers Grove/Woodridge, Lemont Road and 75th Street.  Also in Lemont and Lenox.

10 of us together this year.  15 in the block.

clynn - I found that teapot on Pinterest.  I thought the pic was so pretty.  I have been Christmas shopping again on Amazon this afternoon.  Tell me if you think this is OK for Sydney.  She be almost 4.5 month by Christmas.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UCWQMAS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
I hope the same for Andrew.  Jennifer looks like a tea making expert.  :)  It was so good to see HM on the Y yesterday.

Lani - I had a great time working at the Exxon.   :D

tsk - We baked gingerbread cookies a few years ago.  They were not the neatest, but they sure were fun to make and decorate.

kb - So glad he was rescued.

KB   Oh that poor deer.  So glad they got it off the ice.

PUFF  Just checked out the menu - My kind of place  What a fun time to look forward to.   Altho just trying to get the 7 of us in our girl group together for Xmas, we only had 1 day in December that all of us could make it.  :o  How do you pick the date for that large group.  I see that only 10 of 15 showed so you must just pick a date and hope for the best.

LISA   I know you did not ask my opinion but I think it is just fine.  ;) ;) It's educational and moves along with her growth  up to 3 years!!  Very well done gingerbread men.  I won't post my effort  :P :P

BAZI  Another yummy cake for Lilbro.

Howdy Beakers.  :)

It sounds like it has been a busy day for everyone!  :)

Lisa, you didn't ask me either, LOL, but I think that will be a great gift for Sydney!  :)  It's a great choice for a fun and eye-catching play item that can be adjusted to match her developing skills and interests. I love it!  :D

Clynn, I hope it was a fun visit with the Munchkins. I bet they loved their surprises. And maybe you got to put up your feet after they left and enjoy your favorite adult beverage.  ;)  Smooth travels tomorrow for Ed and Kelsey!  :)

Karen, I'm glad your vertigo is a little better. Fun card that Amanda the Vet brought you! You found a good place for it. You have been getting some nice decorating done, and I hope Piper continues to be well.

Lani, ugh on your post going POOF!  :P   I hope Mike is hanging in there okay. i've lost track of where he was headed next, but I was thinking it was Gila... but maybe those plans have been re-scheduled. Oh, I just remembered the Kansas game was tonight! I totally forgot! I'm going to check the score now... oh, they're up by 3 with 2 seconds left! fingers crossed! Oh, game over - Kansas won by 4 points!  Big game vs. UConn. Maybe that will help Mike feel better.  :D

I walked 34 minutes yesterday, and I had my walking shoes on today, ready to take an early afternoon walk, before the rain started. But one thing led to another, and the next thing I knew, the time slot I had to walk, between taking care of several items of business at home, and before running some necessary errands, got squeezed out completely! So I ended up changing out of my walking shoes and socks without ever going for my walk. It's supposed to rain off and on till Monday, but maybe there will be some "off" stretches long enough to get a walk in. We'll see.  :)

Goodnight, Beakers. Peace. SED.

LisaG - What an interesting job you had while you were in HS!!  I bet you met all sorts of people and could tell some funny stories!   Your gingerbread cookies are so cute!!

Phyl - Cute birthday greeting for Lilbro!

Clynn -  Have fun with your Munchkins!!   Like the picture of Jennifer!   I knew you wanted to get a jump start on clearing stuff out! ;D   That was a wonderful visit you had with Willi and I was so happy you posted some pictures!   Beautiful pic of HM  ;D

Lani - Cute pic this morning!  Glad your new phone is working out well for you! :)

Tsk - I bet that pretty soon you will be doing some holiday baking!

Kb - Wow- that poor deer, but so happy he got rescued!!

Puff - Bet you had a great day with the ladies!! ;D

Bazi - Yummy cake for Lilbro!

Karen - Good for you in the decorating you did - bet it all looks so pretty!

With talk here about Apples, I have to finally tell you Beakers that a couple of days ago (Nov.29th), I had an appt at the Orthodontist and got braces on my lower teeth.  Now I know you will be asking why at my age??! :o   This is why; my jaw is small and my lower teeth are crowded.  Slowly my lower teeth have shifted so much that a tooth in front is starting to shift outwards and it was getting pretty bad, and even my tongue could feel the difference.  So I had made an appt with my Dentist who referred me to an Orthodontist.    I could have chosen to let it be, but if it kept shifting outward, it might have needed to get pulled.   I did not want to have a lower tooth pulled if it doesn't need to be.   So, I made the decision to get my teeth straightened!
As you can imagine, I am learning to eat differently - soft foods right now as I am sore and getting used to these! :-[

Kb, glad they were able to rescue the buck.

Lisa, little ones grow up so fast. Sydney's first car will look perfect in the new home!... perfect gingerbread cookies!

Baz, delicious birthday cake for Lilbro! Mike is moving more comfortably this week. No long distance driving until mid-December. He has his MRI next Friday. It was a great game! Lots of noise at Allen Fieldhouse... even Ted Lasso was there.  ;D ... I bet you did more walking doing your errands and business!  Take it easy tonight. :-*

Karen, glad you're feeling better and able to do a bit of Christmas cheer around your home. Gentle hugs for Piper.

{{{Hugs Eagles}}} I hope the braces will help, take care  :-*...

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers!  It's Caturday!

Lani, glad to hear that Mike is better this week, hopefully he can get the help he needs before he has to travel again... Love those bulldogs with their Christmas tree hats!

E4E, yes, I am itching to get to work on the Mole Hole. The Munchkins were good, that Bella is a hot mess! I think she has missed all of our activities! We had to get baby dolls out, some arts and crafts and I had to read our favorite book to her! And they were only here a couple of hours! Talon was on the laptop, of course! I wish you luck with your braces! I know a couple of adults that got braces later in life, to prevent future issues. Good for you!

baz, yes, I put up my feet after the Munchkins left! And yes, an adult beverage was in order! I agree with Lani, you probably put in plenty of steps doing your errands!

tsk, are you doing anything at the church this weekend?  I have a couple of groups that try to get together now and then, one is 3 people and one is 4. It hard to find a date even with that few!!

Lisa, I think that toy will be perfect! As a baby she can play with all the stuff on the sides and then sit in it when she is a little bigger.  I can just see her now, driving around like a diva!

Puff, hope you had a good time with your neighbors!

karen, good for you, getting all decked out for Christmas! How has Piper been doing? Back to normal I hope!

Let me bore y'all with our ladies' routine.  Again I moved in 1971, there were only 4 or 5 houses (?) at that time.  Small subdivision that grew to a total of maybe 20 houses - great look to the development, no house the same as any other.  Builders were Dorian Homes (Private setup among 1 family.  Mother financed daughter/husband, daughter was an interior designer, husband a carpenter contractor, son an architect.)  They mostly built houses on spec, living in it, they would start on the next house etc.  Two homes they contracted and built to order.

Some houses/people never seemed to get interested, that's why I say 15 houses/owners got involved.  Ten months out of the year the ladies get together for breakfast, brunch, lunch.  We take take turns doing the monthly option and set up and do the invites.  "Things" sometimes don't work for everyone and that means it can be anywhere from 4 to 15 (RSVP's).  We have the 2 special leftover months - Sept or Oct we invite the husbands/mates for a B B Q backyard at oneof our houses.  All welcome, bring a pot luck; house that volunteered to host takes on the actual BBQing.  Last summer just to be special I called and invited our mayor; he did join us.  Other special month is the Christmas get-together, ladies.  We reserve space in a room of the spot, do a "small" $ grabbag exchange, and most imbibe.  Yesterday's popular choice was raspberry margeritas (tanqueray/tonic for me), a couple wines.

We do have a varied attendance.  Two are newer to the group, some are still working, one was doing babysitting 3 kids for daughter/SIL while they took a vacation.  Then there's always those other things that come up, I'm thinking CoVid.

Where do we go places:  Bakers Square (mostly on Wednesdays ::), Honey-Jam Cafe, Country House, Chuck's Rib House, our local new Olive Garden, Home Run Inn Pizza, Jamison's Charhouse, Denny's.

We do enjoy doing waving hi at passing cars, but this is much better.  Next month we get together I'm going to get a concensus on when this started in earnest.  Some have moved out from that original group, some we have lost.  I'm mostly certain I've lived here the longest now.  Sometimes an oldtimer shows up; sometimes one of us will go pick up Carol who is in a senior residence.

Like the good old days when people knew their neighbors, talked to their neighbors.  But it can be modified to groups who drop off the kids at school together, doing an after-church group.

And then too I also have my group of travel advisors - We get together every other month or meet up at learning travel seminars; we share new experiences we tried or if we did special workshops information.  Think about it!

P
