Good morning!   Cloudy/foggy today with a high of 78!  Currently 63!  Got up early to get Piper out before the fence demolition begins and she begrudenly stood on the patio and came back in complaining that she doesn't like to get up  much before 9!  Thats my girl!

Yesterday I spent the day fighting  dizziness!   Seems to be gone this morning so probably not vertigo.  Always something!

Have errands to do today.  Need new fuses for my small christmas tree for the front porch!  Got some from Ace but they are too big! Hobby Lobby has smaller ones, Per the internet!

Ordered a faux boxwood sitting dog(lab) wearing a Christmas ribbon ,bow at the neck for my door.  I am really a traditionalist person but I have a quirky streak!  Do have a wreath for the gate and have other thing I am tired of!   Do have a multicolored red and green christmas balls wreath for over the fireplace.  Ordered two of the dog swags one for me and one for the vet!   She can use it at home or her business!   Should be fun!

Finally got Piper out!  What a girl!

You girls maybe right about Jimmy following Roslyn but I am hoping he will live until his 100th birthday!   My wish, maybe not his!

Good pictures of your holiday celebration. Clynn!  The kids look happy.  The kittie sure look alert!  The Wisconsin babies?

tsk, Erin's left arm tat is all about Manchester United, the English Soccer team he has been crazy over since he was a youngster. His right arm is all about family, the Holy Bible, a Rosary and such. Maybe I will take pics of his arms next time he is here! Inquiring minds want to know, and I can't exactly remember everything! I think there are 7 kittens, just not all in the picture. She also sends videos, and I can see all 7, but I just don't know how to post them!

karen, funny story about the parrot! 44 here now, high 50 and overcast, supposed to get rain. In other words, a dreary day.  You have Piper tuned into your sleeping schedule now! She has such a personality! Yes, those are the kittens in Wisconsin.

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

CLynn so glad everyone had a great time yesterday. Safe travels ahead. Some very festive table decor you've been posting.
Have never seen that kitchen hack with butter before. I just leave it out ahead of time or like Tsk use the microwave.  Learn something every day.  ;)
Agree Harley seen too much Maru.  Really cool trash receptical idea on the beach.  Oh that walrus's reaction to his fishy birthday 'cake'..how cute.
Those are darliing kittens  :-* You have 7 to choose from... Male to female ratio?  So adorable---  How many are you going to adopt?

Tsk   Thinking the same about the Carters...agree many stories just like theirs.

Karen
that parrot joke is a riot! Thanks.  Piper is so funny. Enjoy the stories about her. Hopefully your dizzieness was a fluke...like maybe getting up too fast from bending over or sitting down or turning too fast.

CLynn deer eating popcorn---I've seen everything  ;D

Exciting morning here:

I was sitting on my couch looking out my front window when Mr. Tower was incoming!...He landed in the road in front of my/and neighbor's home. Grabbed some road kill and literally was only inches off the ground in front of my driveway, carrion in hand, and then lifted pretty quickly straight down the road to my south.

I jumped up so fast to grab my phone camera, I spilled my thermos filled with water/ice and only got 1 of 2 clicks to get a rather "terrible" pic of him.
However, I got a great video clip saved of him flying by from my camera.
Chris doesn't allow me to share and therefore I don't know how to share it. Plus videos aren't allowed in the Beak room without converting them to some video app? you tube for example.

He's in the road right behind my chicken wire fence surrounding my arborvitae.

Whew, fun times!

If you double click pic to enlarge him, he's looking straight at me in my living room

Finally...
Bluebird Update

As I said in my bluebird thread...
I am so sorry these are late  as we've had walking pneumonia. Plus, our washing machine developed issues in it's 'mother board' and wouldn't
shut-off the water during wash and rinse cycles. The result was a laundery room flooded with about 2" of rinse water that wicked  2' into our carpeted hall.
However, all that is behind us now.

These snaps were all taken in late October on 10-26-23

 Sometimes called 'Dad #1"

tsk - Indeed i did figure it out with the help of google.

One would think, and I tried multiple times on my comcast remote, entering the menu and going to audio and picking English and SAP change to English to no result. English is my default and all channels are in English but some football games. Google says the Broadcasters of NFL are required to broadcast in English and Spanish, so not their fault and to try above if you encounter this issue.

In one of the pull down google questions I noticed multiple people are having this issue.
Far down one said to push the comcast DOWN button while on the channel you are watching and scroll left and there it was a SAP icon to click along with others and it wasn't in English so I switched it and voila.
I have no idea why this happens. I don't accidentally push something on my remote either. LOL

Now I am going to check one channel that doesn't have any audio at all on my tv and try the same. Probably not the same issue.

Reminds me not to be too hesitant to try lots of different things on puter and most electronics for that matter.

Trying something New this year. I just finished raking errant leaves and dropped grass seed on bare areas front and back.

UofM extension Service speaks about this. Ideally I need 2 inches of snow to fall on top of it. Nowhere in sight right now or near future. However, soil needs to be NOT frozen when dropping seed and our temps are getting awful darn cold coming up.
If it doesn't work, oh well, I'll buy more seed like I do anyway every year. I didn't over-seed good grass for dormant seeding, just bare areas.
Another Science experiment for me. I'm sure all properties and conditions are different, so we shall see.

I was reminded why I'm diligent about picking up leaves!...One tends or rather almost always steps on dog poo if leaves not picked up! cause you can't see it..

bounce

I overdid it standing in the kitchen to clean yesterday. I took an anti-inflammatory pill. It helped. The pool felt good this a.m.

KB - I have tried that "over-seeding before snow" in the past and have had good results... even without raking first.

Hmmm. A length of wood we had near our garage is missing. I'm wondering if it ended up with the folks in the woods?

LOL, love the "attack" by the Malinois.

Good to hear dormant seeding has been good for you. I'm crossing my fingers too. I not only rake for seeding but to prevent stepping on dog poo.....It's inevitable for me, but only with leaves on the ground.
Hope your wood wasn't stolen, :(

Today marks 5 years since my Dad passed away at age 87.  He is always in my heart.

We had a busy, but a good weekend.  Our Grandson spent Saturday here and then we went to dinner and he spent the night.  Then yesterday (Sunday) morning, I made a nice breakfast of bacon, eggs & pancakes and we watched some football together, then took him home.

Please bear with me as I try to catch up here in the Beak.

Clynn - You were very organized for your Sunday Thanksgiving meal with your family!  It is good to get as much done ahead of time as possible, so that you have more time for visiting & enjoying your family!    Just read that you all had a great family day yesterday and love the pics (wish there were more)!  Wow-Talon has a birthday this Sunday - so nice you all sang happy birthday to him ahead of time!
Lol! Harley trying to get into a small box.  Sweet pics of the most recent kittens. :)     I hope that man whose renter stole his mama cat & kittens filed a police report.
Great idea with the 'Fish' receptacle at the beach to hold all those plastic bags!

Phyl - Sounds like a good music radio station you listen to!  Noisy crows on 365 this morning. ;)   Great Bluebird pictures!!

BL - Thank you for a little more explanation on your being over in the Catskills and Fire-wising and having some time with friends! :)

Puff - Love those recollections & stories of your Puff the Beast! ;D

Lani - Hope Mike's Back is feeling better now and hope he can get the shot he needs!    Love the 'Pilgrim' costumed dogs!!  Reminds me of Williwaw and her Ivy! ;D

Kb - Cute vid of baby elephant playing.    How exciting to see Mr. Tower!  You did good with getting a picture!!   Great job in figuring out your 'English' situation with your TV!!  Google is so helpful.

Tsk - Like the humor from Karen 'bad parrot'! ;D

Tig - Cute 'puppy dog' vid!  Hope the anti-inflammatory is helping.

Beakers have a nice day.

Good Afternoon Beakers

Well, darn...here sits my post, that I thought I posted this morning.   ::)

tig - Your brunch sounded wonderful!

karen - So sad about Rosalyn Carter, RIP.  She and Jimmy have had a nice long life and marriage.

tsk - I was actually kinda shocked on the blood sugar after eating what I did for lunch.  I thought it would be much higher.

kb - Cute lil ellie!

Phyl - Cute Thanksgiving figurines.  Thanks for 365.

clynn - Yes, love that butter tip!   :D  Great pic of your Thanksgiving with the munchkins and family.  Are they going to visit family in Florida or Disney?  The kitties are adorable.

tsk - Thanks for the holiday humor from karen;D

kb - Great pic of Mr Towers!

Lani - How is Mike today?  Cute morning pic.  ;D

tig - Oh no, on your missing wood.  Keep an eye out!

E4E - Sounds like a great weekend with your grandson.
