Difference of view -  I am and I have been ODing on cherries this summer.  Good thing is they have either been on sale, been a designated "feature shopper" pricing or just staring me in the face while I wanted something.  First time $2.99 lb,  didn't buy 2nd week moldy, then special promo, last two weeks 99 cents lb, this week back to 1.99.  Bought a couple pounds each time and then pigged up.  Yummy sweet from Jewel Store.  Have to go anyway (milk, flowers, script) will look at cherries to restock.

Puff - $.99 a pound for cherries is an excellent price.  I have not seen them here for less than $2.99.  We love Rainier cherries, but good gravy they are expensive!

Lani - Thanks for the bear study update.  Reading your comment to E4E about Mike's car...yay!

Karen - Enjoy your pedi!

tig - Thanks for the link to the dark sky cam.  Adorable pic of the pups looking at Camper.

E4E - I am happy Mama is home too.  Till her next adventure...  ;D

jilltosa - Good to see you.

Lori - Thanks for the info from the Maui Humane Society to help with the animals in need of medical care.

kb - I bet that first flush with TP felt good.  ;D

tsk - Yes, a good location for Mama for Con.  She actually helped scout out the hotels for next year's Con.  She had alot of fun doing that, as the hotel has to be historic and have a grand ballroom.

clynn - Mama just called to let me know that her luggage did arrive Fed Ex at 10:20am!  She said, she hasn't checked the contents yet, as she had some errands to do, but the smaller bag looks like it had been thrown around. It's all dirty. The other case is that big suitcase from last year that she could not lift, and I had to drive her all the way back home! Remember that ordeal?   ;D

LORI   Thanks for all that helpful information.

TIG   What a sweet pic of the pups and Camper  LOL  Great news about the Banyon tree.  That dark sky cam is cool.

PUFF   Wonderful reflection - thanks for sharing.

KAREN   Yes a good sale this week on the big cherries.  Love them  ;) ;)

CLYNN   Thanks for the Banyan tree photo.

LANI   Your thoughts are well expressed as were Puffs.     Loved Shadow's  genealogy ;D  Wouldn't you love to have seen a multi-generational photo  LOL    Mike's going to have a brand new car when done!!!  Jewel - 18 cubs  WOW.

LISA    LOL   Yes I do remember the "Case of the Too Heavy Suitcase"  ::)

Made a trip to to the south Milwaukee area today to the Boerner Botanical gardens - 9 acres - vs 385 at Chicago botanic  LOL  Warm in the sun but a nice cool breeze in the shade.  Not making a day of it as Tim's life blood Keurig died this AM - I made him a pot in my Mr Coffee to tide him over.  So on the way back we had to stop at Costco but they didn't have any.  Target was next door so he got his beloved coffee maker there.  The exact same one.
ON top of that - he got a new flip phone ( not the new trendy smart phones) yesterday as the one he had - no longer being made - was having too many problems.   Of course this was a big challenge to operate and not nearly as user friendly.  sigh - I helped him with it last night and now found some links on line to see if he can follow setting up a few more things

(((LANI)))  I have been following all the reports out of Lahaina/Maui/Hawaii for the last 2 days.  :'( :'( :'(  I echo your, "Prayers for Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii and its people, wildlife, the rescuers, volunteers."

P.S. Karen, I couldn't agree more!

I missed the dinner bell - what is H2 eating?  Not another fish.  This seems to have fur, and looks like it's missing some of the parts?

some bounce
Yes, it took a while for me to remember that a monsoon struck Oahu the night before we were to leave there in 1972. For some reason the tour company dropped us flat and a group banded together at the hotel and sent representatives to the airport to get tickets after it was no longer flooded. 17 of us obtained a ride on a non stop flight on a 747 to MSP.
One of my fondest memories is sitting under the banyon tree.
Lori... Thanx again for the link. It came in handy.

Hi Everyone

While here on the main land we sit comfortable and secure, only able to just imagine what those in the fire and wind  ravaged areas
are feeling and suffering.
I had a pedicure schedule for Friday---can't bring myself to keep the appointment. So I cancelled it.
I've made donations to  The American Red Cross and Catholic Charities Hawaii.

Here's a brief list of the 'legitimate'  charitable/relief organization accepting donations of cash and/or clothing, food. The later two would be
difficult for us to do---although we could box up clothing and mail it to the charities listed in the search

American Red Cross

Nothing current from the Honolulu Civic Beat.  However, I was watching FNC-'The Five' and it was reported  that Maui had had some rain which helped ease the fire.
And, I did find these on MSN

Thnks Phyl.   Good information.  Please don’t send clothes!  The cost will be so high . That money could be sent to an organization that will give it to the needy to buy something locally!   Helps the recovery two ways!

Tsk, sounds like you had a good day!  Lol on Tim and coffee!  I am with him!  I had a Mr.Coffee here some place and have not seen it since I came back from the “home”.  Maybe I got rid of it!  If so, I will get another for a back up!

Lisa, good idea for baby cuddling!  You can pet Lizzy at the same time!

Lani, good news on Mikes car and his plan for the battery and  tires makes sense.

Unlike Piper, I did not have to be sedated to get my Pedi!   Lol.
Seds Bekers!  Dh, sty home ith the big fish pond s long s you want!  It is a tough world out there!

Great Spirit Bluff Falcons

There's a new gal hanging around.  Scientifically she is known as  Peregrine 53-W  '  wearing a blue band.    She's been visiting the area.
And, we're all excited for Newman.

  Isn't she beautiful?  ;)

Her name is 'Lisa' .
And, here are her  'stats'.

I know she's listed as  hurt/deceased. But, my guess is this is an error.  Shep has been posting  about Lisa in the GSB thread in Forum.
I posed this,  ' So either she came back from the 'dead' or some one made an 'error'.  I'am waiting for a reply from Shep.   :P

Zipping her feathers.
