Well, I mowed in back...and discovered an OOPS.....one of my 9 limelight hydrangea isn't flowering.

What the heck?....any guesses?

The hole at the elbow is very deep!...good to know....he found the broken clay elbow....I see him already carrying what looks like PVC pipe.....hmm...how does pvc stick to clay?

and then the (clay) pipe goes deeper I hope (down hill) to the street LOL..

tig - cuties...

I think my grass has done pretty well this year....knock on wood....lots of watering and organic fertilizer.
One area to the left side is rust, which I just started treating...will take a few more anti-fungal sprays.

possibility of thunderstorms today around 2pm....hope they can cover the hole if it does!

{{{Kb}}} gorgeous yard, I especially love the hydrangeas! You should be very proud of your hard work.  ;D

Lahaina - Maui, Hawaii is basically gone.  :'( :'( :'(. I can't believe this! My heart is breaking for my people and all the beautiful creatures.

Utter devastation left by the wildfires in Maui, Hawaï. It is far from hyperbole to say that Lahaina has been wiped off the map.

LANI    That is just so sad.  Tim and I spent out 15th Anniversary there.  At on the second floor of a restaurant on Front Street.  This is just terrible.  Will need to check some more news reports about this.  That overhead view - Surreal  How will they ever recover?  So many people displaced. I see from CLYNN's link about 6 are dead so far. :'( :'(

KB  Did they clean up after the job was done?  Too bad about having to have a new ramp built. Was the shed OK?  Yes, the simple things in life - flushing... ;) ;)  I'm betting like you said - maybe the tree trunks are blocking the water...

LISA   What an ordeal for MOM - Wonder what happened to cause that delay on her first flight.  At least she got home safe.  Did her luggage  LOL???

GINGER   Thanks - 4th mate - interesting in about 12 years or so.  What an amazing history on that eagle/nest...[

CLYNN   Are the kids sad with only 1 more stay at Grandma's/ Grandpa's?   More likely excited for school./size]

Lani  So sorry.  I want you to know your sadness is felt by this beaker.  One of my favs, probably been through there at least 10 times.  Their beautiful Banyan tree and the restaurant across the street so you can sit in the shade of the tree.  They haven't said about the tree's status. But just looking at the pics you posted, the town is no longer there.  All those sweet cottage fronted businesses and the docks looking out over the water.  I've been receiving emails from the businesses all day on what plans should be handled, but please give them extra time is what they're asking.  I've been searching out my contacts to get some status on Ka'anapoli, Kopalua, Makena.  Can sit through all 3 meals at Kimo's on the water - can't beat the view and food.  Oh, for sure it didn't make it.  Maybe if you hear from friends or family  could you let me know their reports.  Thanks for the pics - news reports only help a bit.  Plus you would have to know and be familiar with the island.  So, so sorry.

Lani, I am so very, very sorry for you, your family and all those directly affected by this horrendous devastation!  I am hopeful there are photos of the historic district and that rebuilding to the exact same look an be accomplished.  Hope insurance coverage is not too delayed!

Clynn, thanks for posting the news clipping.   Kids look like they are already in the mood to study!

Piper had to be lightly sedated to get her mani, pedi but the bath went off without a hitch!

Lisa, maybe in time you and Jeff can babysit while the parents enjoy some time on a date!

Thanks for the history lesson, Ginger.

Our local news tonight showed a distant pic of the banyon tree and said it was charred but standing. Talons crossed closer inspection shows it will survive. Focus is on more important things just now... prayers for all on the islands.

Clynn, sweet pics of the munchkins, they're growing up too fast, especially Miss Bella in her 4th pic. She looks pre-teen. LOL!  ;D... the news coming out of Hawaii is horrible. I just can't believe it. My sister and I have distant cousins, they are okay. Mike and I have friends that live in Kula, and they are okay as well. But, this is Lahaina, so much history, so many memories, the beautiful ancient Banyon tree, buildings and churches that go back to the early 1800’s. During the time of Kings, Queens, whaling ships, missionaries…. so much of our Hawaiian history in this small seaside town …. Loss of life, severe injuries, missing people, lost homes, businesses, the feral cats that roamed the outdoor beach side restaurants…. it's all so sad.

{{{Tsk}}}

{{{Puff}}}  {{{Kimo's, 122 year old Pioneer Inn are gone}}} And I just read tonight 3 fires on the Big Island North Kohala Ranch, and near Mauna Kea Resort.  We've been there too, I bet you have as well.  https://www.sfgate.com/hawaii/article/fires-burning-on-hawaiis-big-island-18288314.php

Karen, I'm so glad Piper mani and bath went okay. Sadie needs to have a bath too, but she's always had Dewey with her. I'm a bit worried about how she'll do.

Phyl, thank you for posting an update. the photos of Front street, palm trees, burnt cars  :'(....

Good night!

Prayers for Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii and its people, wildlife, the rescuers, volunteers.
