... the news coming out of Hawaii is horrible. I just can't believe it. My sister and I have distant cousins, they are okay. Mike and I have friends that live in Kula, and they are okay as well. But, this is Lahaina, so much history, so many memories, the beautiful ancient Banyon tree, buildings and churches that go back to the early 1800’s. During the time of Kings, Queens, whaling ships, missionaries…. so much of our Hawaiian history in this small seaside town …. Loss of life, severe injuries, missing people, lost homes, businesses, the feral cats that roamed the outdoor beach side restaurants…. it's all so sad.
