Wild Heart Ranch

For all the mothers everywhere
Today is just for you
To celebrate your sacrifice
And all you've been put through
Some mothers make it look easy
parenting with quiet grace
Some get a bit more frazzled
Constant anguish on their face
And then there are mothers who roam the woods
Where danger is always near
Searching for food to care for their brood
Trying to see through their baby's rear
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, other mothers, bonus moms, "may as well be" moms and those who raise yours and everyone else's kids, human and "other". The world is a better place because you people know what "unconditional love" is. 🙂  Annette

Lisa, love Jeff's names for the kittens, Brutus is almost a pound! They look so healthy and sweet, I just want to cuddle them. I think if you start them on that pellet litter it will be fine.  This has been a wonderful adventure for you and Jeff! And AC would be happy to let you do it again I am sure!

Ed was going to mow our lawn this morning, but it's still very wet and supposed to start actually raining again in about an hour. And tomorrow until late afternoon. No rain Tuesday or Wednesday, so he will have to get it done then! Where there is no grass it is very muddy (where the construction people are working in the back yard...).

karen, Mom's HH worker (her name is Kay) is a talker, so Mom tries not to start too much conversion with her until she is done! She vacuums, dusts, does laundry, changes sheets, cleans the bathroom, fills the bird feeders. Stuff like that. She has had some doozies in the past though! Like the Amish (or Mennonite) girl who made the bed backwards.

Boulder County - all three eggs survived the hailstorm!

Thank you all for your birthday wishes for me this morning....

My sis drove down yesterday and spent some time here without her Max..(black shitzu) as Max has developed a strong dislike for driving...just like Ollie man.
It also was a better weather day than today is...
Brought us all some fun gifts too: a beautiful orange hanging begonia...I removed the hanger and put in back for just my own pleasure....when summer heat comes I'll move it out front under my maple tree.
A purple t shirt I thought was so funny....don't think I'll wear it in public but will while gardening, LOL.
A fluffy pocketed zipped hoodie for when it gets cold again...also one for Chris as it was his birthday last month.
and finally, a new we call Mr. Shady ball....it's almost indestructible...I still have the last one she brought Ollie but finally had to super glue a little hole..

ssrl - hopefully this rain will stop as I'd love to see you and it is really dreary today...and yes, I know you are still younger than myself..

I've been busy planting some annuals, hangers, and a boxwood to eventually finish the row of 7 under my arbors..I have a previous one that has done well, dug up 6 others after they failed to grow so am testing this one before I plant more..Purchased 12 bags of mulch to start, mowed and weed whipped both front and back and etc. etc..
It's just starting to look like spring...appears to have lost: My smokebush, my rhody, 25 feet of Virginia Creeper, roses and some of my arbors..but but, the grass looks healthy and green...

Forgot Mr. Shady pic..

Will add this:
I had one day last week I believe to just sit still on my deck and listen to music before the clouds rolled in.
I realized how much loss I've had in my life in just a short 9 years:
My Walter dog at 16 1/2 years old in April, 2014
My twin brother to suicide ( I call it out as part of our middle age "deaths of despair" phenomena), July, 2014
My mother in 2017
and my dear husband, Scott, in 2020 as you know.
Not a lot of time in life to grieve but it struck me as why I don't spend a long time with music in my ears, although I'm sure it's good to do just not to dwell on as life goes on..

Hoping to get outside a whole lot more, we Minnesotans deserve it this year....and it makes me happy.
Thanks again and have a great Mother's Day.....moms :)

It has been a gloomy day, with a gentle rain that started around noon.

tsk - Cute morning greeting.   ;D you are on Tim's to do list!  So nice of Barb to help you.

E4E - I got a text message asking to confirm the EKG appt, so I cancelled that one, and went on my Patient Portal to scheduled at the Hospital Diagnostic center in the next county over for Monday at 8am.  Very easy peasy...I just hope I really have an appointment!  ;D

kb - Beautiful Maine Coon!  Awww, Taurus!

T40 - Thanks for the videos.

baz - Adorable pics of the Lil greats!  Punkin is taking her dancing serious, and OMG all that hair a baby bro!

Phyl - That beef gyro sounds delicious! Now you are going to make me want to make pizza's!!

Lori - Thanks for posting that for karen.  Aww, Room 8 cat.

Jeff took a video of the kitties today.  They were very active this afternoon.  Hope you all can view it.

Lisa, OMG, those cute kitties!!!  :-* :-*  Loved seeing the video Jeff made and narrated! Thanks! It worked, and I'm not even on FB, so thanks for making it "public" for people like me who wouldn't be able to see it on FB otherwise.  :) :-*  You're not going to be able to keep them in the "pool" much longer... LOL. And I loved the little tiger stripe on his back who found his tail and swatted at it during that video.  ;D ;D  They are ready to find new adventures, and test and build new skills - with each other, toys, and just "stuff." LOL. Watch under your feet, and...
Let the good times roll!!   ;) ;D
