The DNR has stated the cougar was marked, and the Nebraska Game and Fish Commission has confirmed it was a 2 year old male.  A necropsy will be performed to find out more. Reminder: Cougars don't live in Minnesota. I believe as much as we know about "Everything", we know very little..the mysteries about all continue ;D
He was hit on highway 394.

That cafe  with the owls sounds like a pet store for wild life!  Not a fan  but do not live in Pakistan!
Happy Birthday Godiva!   Hope you enjoyed the cupcake from Lori!   Hope you do not mind that I ate half!  Mmm, so yummy!
Tsk, good for Tim!   Do you make peanut butter blossoms?
Clynn, Imagine Kelsey and Ed have  crossed the Mississippi and pulled into  the drive!
Eagles and Tig, 😭
Lani, that is one decorated Georgia Bulldog!
Old Guy, good to see you.
Phyl, easy does it!
Baz, did your sister send any snow pictures?  So pretty!
Had a terrible nights sleep last night.  Got in bed and the controller would not work! Changed batteries, nothing!  Took forever to fall asleep and kept waking up with serious back pain and vertigo!  Was sleeping on two pillows and Piper was in a state!  She said, first the Christmas c**p snd now you took my pillow and the bed is flat!  She laid down and then stood up and looked again!   This morning my back was not good!  Tried to unlock the thing, no go!  U plugged it for  an hour and by then the help arrived and it is now fixed!
So in a bit, Piper and I will head to the bed!  Alls well that ends well!   Ent tomorrow! Seds

Howdy Beakers!  :)

I saw more of the story about that 2-year old male cougar, poor thing. He had been tagged 2 years ago in northwest Nebraska, so he had traveled hundreds of miles, the DNR said. It was a good news article about him from CBS, but I didn't post the link because it had a photo of him after he had been hit. Very sad.  :'( :-*

((Karen)), I didn't get any snow pictures this time from my Mtns Sis. She said it was a pretty snow at her place, but started melting quickly - a heavy dusting is how she described it.  I hope your back gets to feeling better, and your vertigo! Hope you get some more restful sleep - and Piper, too.

Tig, got it. Thanks.

Good Night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

LISA   He didn't nap ( sometimes 2 hours - not good) at all yesterday or today and I think that helps to have a good night's sleep.

KAREN  I cut way back this year.  I just made chocolate pretzel bark and crockpot peanut clusters.  Both pretty easy. No cookies  or mini breads or the like to give away.  I've not made peanut butter blossoms but know what they are.   The first thing I go to like you is the battery - next unplug for about a minute and replug in - then it usually works.  Sounds like that's what happened - Now you know.  What an awful time for the bed to go out tho.  Tonight will be better.

(((Karen))) so sorry you had a lousey night--glad in the end you got your controller fixed. Piper  :-*
Sending some extra 'Zzzzs' your way.

Tsk your Chrismas confections sound yummy---Jim and Dad would love the peanut clusters.  Here's to another good night for Tim.

Lisa/Eagles doc got called away so I saw her NP (nurse practioner). She's very nice and cautious. Jim asked her some questions that I knew professonally /legally couldn't anwer. I didn't hold her to the issue.  Importantly a referal to a EENT in Brentwood/Cool Spgs. Just this side of the city, who she and doc think mostly highly of professionally. So  will get a call from them.
NP did aread the ER report and a very, very, very  gentle exam of my nose---more like on the very very tip of nasal bone. Could have missed it altogher if more fortunate.  ::)

CLynn sure hope Ed/Kelsey are back h ome safe and sound.

OG congrats on the card game.

I still feel drained from the experience.
Now I have to do the finger to the nose  'thing' to stave of  a rash of sneezes.  >:(
Tylenol is a Godsend.

Time for 'chow'...

Kb - That was great news about your jeep - so good you didn't have to think of getting any maintenance or repairs! :)   So sad about the Cougar. :(

LisaG - Wonder if it would be worth the $$ to rent a small truck from U-Haul or Home Depot to do it all in one trip?  I don't have any idea of the cost, so if you say you'd rather use your car, I understand!

Lani - Glad it seems like the collar is working.  Was it for Norman?  I think you said Milo is more mild (unless I got it wrong)! :-[

Tig - Brrrr - that pool was cool! ::)

Puff - I agree what you said about the cougar - so sad.

Tsk - Awesome that Tim had his best night's sleep ever!!! :)

Phyl - So nice to have Maggie by your side keeping you company and hopefully you are still trying to take it easy. :)  Glad Jim is much better!  Although you saw the NP today, will you still need an appt to see your actual Doctor?

Karen - Hopefully tonight you have a much better night and maybe by now Piper has gotten more used to the Christmas decorations and is ready for a good night's sleep too. :)   Sorry for your vertigo and Back pain - hope it all eases up and you feel better soon. {{Karen}}

Bazi - Cute birthday greeting for Godiva!   Like the pic of the Twins on their walk. :)

Beakers have a good night - sleep well  :)

Eagles Nope. No need. Just wait for call from EENT in Brentwood.  Hopefully, I'll know then how long this fracture
will take to mend. Appreciated  your concern.

Kb, I'm sorry for the cougar. It's a shame he couldn't have been caught and released someplace safer.

Lori, Godiva will love the birthday greeting! I hope she's well.

{{{Karen and Piper}}} sorry about last night. I pray you both have a better night's sleep.  :-*

Baz, great birthday greeting for Godiva! I'd love that cake.

Tsk, I love peanut clusters. I hope your time at the Social Concerns Desk is going well...  I pray Tim has another good night's sleep.

Hi Eagles, the collar was for Milo, He's bugging me for attention right now and Norman is like sleeping beauty in his basket.

Phyl, prayers for continued, healing and comfort through the night.

Mike's in the valley for a meeting. I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning to meet him.
If I can get in on my ipad I'll check in.

History of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
The History of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is the history of the attack itself, an attack which took place on December 7th, 1941. The attack was devastating, killing over 2,400 citizens of the United States from the time it began at 7:48am Hawaiian time and ended just 90 minutes later, making the attack incredibly devastating. Multiple ships were lost during the attack, though things could have been much worse.
Intelligence gathered after the attack indicated that there was intended to be a third-wave of attacks to hit the island, complete with an invasion fleet intended to take the island and prevent it from being used as an American base of operation.
The purpose behind this surprise attack? America was well positioned in the Pacific to interfere with Japanese fleet maneuvering, and it was hoped that by launching this assault they would cripple the US Pacific Presence and be able to control the ocean unhindered.

Pearl Harbor Firsthand Accounts: Video
On December 7, 1941, a surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor shocked America. These are the stories of veterans who were at the naval base that morning.
