HAPPY DAY!  :)

Tig, (((Rosie))) Sending thoughts of a successful treatment.  :-*

Karen, LOL, Zippo was not amused at the fuss of yesterday being Caturday. She's not a fan of cats, or of anybirdy getting more attention than she's getting!!  ;D ;) :-*  Your Piper is living the good life!  :D :-*

Lisa, aww, I love the family picture of Sydney's 1st outing! Her outfit is cute - what I can see of it!  :) :-* :-*

It's been a gorgeous, sunny day here. I got in a nice 55-minute walk today. Heading for a quick run to the grocery store, then plan to check in on the KC Chiefs game.

Waving to All the Beakers!  :D

Kb - Good that Ollie seems to be more okay with getting a bath and nails clipped!  I'm sure you are correct in that he knows he will be fine afterward as he is getting a little older, and mellowing.  ;D   You have a good technique for his bath time!    Your picture of the ash leaves says it all - now it begins!
Your broccoli cups look very yummy & delicious!!
Wow-the vid of forest floor lifting in the wind  :o ::)

Baz - You are so good in picking up your walking pace!

Tig - Thoughts & prayers for Rosie.

LisaG - Nice picture of Bradley & family! ;D   Just saw Sydney in the close-up - so darling in her dinosaur costume! ;D

Tsk - Cute gif this morning!   Your friend sure had a wonderful celebration of her birthday earlier this month - dtrs are so thoughtful to have planned the trip!  ;D

Phyl - Beautiful pic of foliage at Great Spirit Bluff Falcon area!

Lani - Like the Brooks Falls pic of bears!  Sounds like a perfect day for you & Mike -and that you had a wonderful breakfast! :)

Beakers have a good night  :)

Good Evening Beakers

Another sunny and mild day - high of 62 - forecast to get to the mid 70s the next 2 days with rain starting Tue. evening...

Today's flash back artist is Brenda Lee...  Born in 1944 - was singing from the counter of a candy store at age 3 to get free candy for her family. Her father died from a construction accident when she was 7,  leaving her Mom and 3 kids penniless.  By age ten she was the primary money earner for the family singing on local radio and TV shows.  By age 12 she was on national TV talent shows and got a music record contract.  She was always small for her age - at 12 she was the size of a 6-7 year old - as an adult she was 4 foot 9.  At 13 she started touring the US, promoting her records, and went on international tours by age 15.  Despite all the tours, she did not make steady money until 1960, after her hit "I'm Sorry".
Despite articles to the contrary, Brenda Lee is still alive according to the fact finders on the internet.

Today is...

International Snow Leopard Day
These majestic creatures prowl the mountains with grace and power, their stunning coats blending seamlessly into the snowy landscape.

The first International Snow Leopard Day occurred on the 23rd of October in 2014. The main purpose of this day is to show the importance of snow leopard conservation and raise awareness about this incredible animal. The day also emphasizes the importance of taking measures to stop poaching, as well as consolidating efforts in terms of an environmental organization in the countries of the snow leopard range.

The day was initiated by the countries that encompass the snow leopard’s range. They include Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Pakistan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, India, China, Bhutan, and Afganistan. On the 23rd of October, in 2013, these countries signed the Bishkek Declaration regarding the conservation of the snow leopard. This happened in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, at the very first Global Snow Leopard Forum.

Fascinating Facts About Snow Leopards
*Snow leopards are able to prey on animals that are up to three times their own body weight.

*They have massive, thick tails, which are able to help them maintain balance and shield them from harsh weather. Their tails are almost as long as their entire body.

*A study from the WWF has recorded snow leopards living at 5,859 meters above sea level. This is the highest altitude that has ever been documented for big cats.
*This is about the same height as the highest mountain in Canada.

*You may be surprised to learn that snow leopards are not able to roar. Instead, they mew, yowl, and growl. They also prusten, which is also known as chuffing. This is a non-threatening vocalization, which is made when they blow air through their nose.

*The fur on the stomach of a snow leopard is almost five inches thick. This is so that they can survive in the harsh and cold mountain climates.

*These animals are often referred to as ‘ghosts of the mountain’ because they spend most of their lives in solitude and they are rarely seen.

*Snow leopards are the only big cats that call Asia’s cold deserts their home. These deserts are sometimes referred to as the third pole because they feature ice fields with the biggest reserves of freshwater outside of the southern and northern polar regions.

Well how about that - Phyl sneaked by and took a pic of my front door.  And she didn't even ring the bell.   :o

I have the exact same wreath for about 5 years.  But, since you didn't ring, no trick-or-treat.

This is a lake in Bloomington I frequently walk around. The ski jump has been there forever, like since I was a kid.

Heading out for a quick one with Ollie man.

Morning all.

Lisa - love the close up of Sydney...
