Work on the nest continues today. It's mostly fluffy grasses so far.  That nest will be comfy for eggs-to-come-soon.

About 9:30, the Norths flew to the branches behind the nest where they gather sticks and leaves, kind of the area where we see deer sometimes.  Anyhow, flirting, twittering, no mating, then gathering sticks and being close.  The rewind is worth watching.

Kingfisher at the Brush Pile this afternoon.

Another good day for working on the nest.  Sub-adult hanging around, makes me wonder how long the Norths will tolerate them.  After egg-laying?  We will find out soon enough.

Nice angle and look into North Nest.  The size and shape truly looks good.

Puff, good look for the nest, you are right!

Early, just at daylight, the Norths were in the Scary Tree and several deer are just visible in the field behind the creek trees.  Then two coyotes came down and crossed the creek.  They are big and fluffy and the color of the grasses so I marked them with green arrows.

MrN and DNF have been kind of hanging around today, on the nest and in the Scary Tree.  Amy wrote recently that the female BEs tend to spend more time on the nest as they get close to laying eggs.

Good day for eagle activity around the nest.  Lots of calling and following each other from perch to perch.

DNF has been on the nest a lot today.  Could this be first-egg-night?

We'll see what morning brings, Phyl.

At dusk, the Norths made a nest visit from the creek trees, then flew to the big tree just south of the nest, then back to the creek trees. Finally just at dark, DNF came to the nest briefly before roosting in the favorite Love Branch spot.  About 6:00, deer are in the field behind the creek trees, then several came to the creek.  Deer are often active in the dark because fewer predators.
