Curtis: Great news! Curtis is getting ready for the next step and will be rewilded soon!

Say hello to Annabelle! She is a Rainbow-Billed Toucan, a permanent resident of our sanctuary. Stay tune, and enjoy her beautiful colors and personality.

Stay tuned for our new camera, where you can see some of the animals from our rescue center as they go through their rehabilitation journey. You can even catch the various wild birds that visit our ranch constantly!

Catch Viscerion, the crocodile, as he takes the sun in his pool daily. Also, be on the look for Randy and Rihanna while they exercise and recover during their rehabilitation process.

Ziggy, a 3F Sloth: he is doing fine and gaining weight; he will be transferred to the Release Site soon.

Sloth Pre-School Updates:

Coco, and her friend Geo, 2F Sloths: They are doing great. Always together.

Landon, 2F Sloth: When eating, it seems the food is not getting stuck anymore. He is gaining weight, and the  vets are happy with his progress.

Pax & Liana, 2F Sloths: They are doing well and have no more ulcers.

Roo, 2F Sloth: Doing well and growing fast!

Robin, 3F Sloth: He is doing fine. He’s still receiving physical therapy regularly. Look for his new update on our social media. You can support him donating in his CUDDLY campaign.

In Loving Memory - We are sad these babies did not make it due to different issues.

Katira, 2F Sloth: Sadly, before we could announce her, she passed away due to a malformation incompatible with wildlife.

A friendly reminder: We are a critical care facility - Even though you do not see this on camera, the animals are under 24/7 vet care

NEW ARRIVALS:

Lilo 3f: She is a baby around 1 or 2 months old. She was found in Guapiles, her mom was attacked by dogs and sadly passed away. Lilo has a dislocated knee. The vet team is waiting for x-rays, and there is an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon.

Ollie 2f: He is 2 or 3 weeks old. He was found on top of his deceased mom, we don’t the reason of the mom passing away. Ollie is doing well so far, and adapting to drinking milk, and he is in the incubator.

6 baby parrots, orange chinned parakeets:Came from a confiscation, during holidays the police do road blocks looking for wildlife contraband. These babies probably were going to the black market. We recieved 11 parrots. We have 6 at the headquaters and 5 at the Release Site.

Sloth Pre-School Updates:

Coco, and her friend Geo, 2F Sloths: They are doing great. Always together, always climbing.

Landon, 2F Sloth: He is doing better. We noticed he wasn't climbing too much, but since he is getting better probably will be climbing more.

Pax & Liana, 2F Sloths: They are doing really well; they are synchronized climbing.

Roo, 2F Sloth: He is doing good. He is now out of the incubator, and graduated to the basket; he loves it, and looks like he kinda doing chins ups.

Robin, 3F Sloth: Not much progress with the theraphy recently, but he is doing fine.

Toucan Ranch Rescue update

RELEASE NOTICE:

Ziggy, 3F Sloth: was released with a collar and monitored. Leslie went to the Release Site to help with his release. Leslie mentioned that Ziggy was getting tired while climbing the tree, and when before leaving, she checked on him and was in the same spot since the release. The next day we received information that Ziggy went all the way to the top of the tree. He is eating fresh leaves and enjoying the view from the top of the tree.

NEW ARRIVALS:

Alma, 2F Sloth: came from Bijagua. Her mom rejected her twice. Park rangers couldn't bring it to us because they didn't have a car at the moment, so our husbandry intern and vet supervisor volunteered and went to pick her up. It was a long drive to the northern part of CR (Cañas). She is dehydrated but seems ok; we don't know why her mom rejected her.

Sloth Pre-School Updates:

Coco & Geo, 2F Sloths: They are fine. They love the new structure, constantly climb, and are more active, curious, and exploring.
Landon, 2F Sloth: He is exploring and being more active with the new structure.
Pax & Liana, 2F Sloths: They are doing great too. Pax will be graduating soon.
Roo, 2F Sloth: He is eating more, getting veggie smoothies, and it seems he loves it
Robin, 3F Sloth: He has yet to show new advances. The basket has been moved near the ropes. If you see him pulling himself with the ropes, let us know!
Ollie,2F Sloth: He has issues adjusting to the milk at the moment.

Coco & Geo, 2F Sloths: They will soon graduate but still need to gain some weight before they start the transition.
Roo, 2F Sloth: He has started transitioning to eating smoothies. He is very active and gaining weight fast!

Jeannie, 3F Sloth: She was found in a highly fragmented area and brought to HQ for a bloodwork analysis. We hope to take her back to the wild soon!

Antonio, 2F Sloth: He is great, has a good appetite, and keeps gaining weight!
Coco & Geo, 2F Sloths: They will soon graduate but still need to gain some weight before they start the transition. Coco is gaining weight faster.
Roo, 2F Sloth: He has a lot of energy and is gaining weight fast. He likes to hang out with Antonio!

Oriane, 3F Sloth: She was found alone and was brought here. We are monitoring her. Hopefully, she will go to the Release Site soon.

Sloth Preschool Updates:

Antonio, 2F Sloth: He's been gaining weight. Very active and has a good appetite.
Coco, 2F Sloth: She's been gaining weight fast. Soon will be graduating.
Geo, 2F Sloths: We have been monitoring his weight since we noticed he's growing slower than Coco.
Roo, 2F Sloth: Gaining weight fast, always very active.
Robin, 3F Sloth: We have noticed he has been trying to climb more and seems to be improving! He received laser therapy last week. Remember, you can support him by donating to his CUDDLY campaign!
Gonzo, 2F Sloth: We monitor him constantly as he is still very young. He started to eat leaves last week.
Jeannie, 3F Sloth: Her appetite improved in the last two weeks, and she seems more active. She's aggressive, which is a good sign! Hopefully, she will be transferred to the Release Site soon.

GRADUATION NOTICE:

Winnie, 2F Sloth: Winnie has graduated and is now at the Release Site for her last rehabilitation stage!

Welcome Annabelle, a Keel-billed toucan! She was brought to us after being found on the street without being able to fly. She is going through rehabilitation to determine if she is a release candidate. Let us know if you catch her practicing her flying skills!
