Thanks MpMom, I liked this calendar pic too.  I'm getting more and more hopeful this little guy will make it.  Mom should be able to feed one.  Was happy to hear that E2 was not infected with the avian flu virus.

I am sure this guy will be fine.
I just wish E2 hadn't been tortured most of his short life. I have pics from just after he was born to the day he died >:( >:(

It is so sad, I have to get it out of my mind and know that this is what might happen without two parents and as the eagle population grows, life gets harder for these guys.  I posted a DNR puzzle in the RRP of Dad feeding E2.  Sad but a good tribute to the both of them.   :(

I hear you SSRl but beatings took place long before dad left. Very unusual nest this year.

Yes MpMom.....not a typical nest this year....indeed...it's hopeless to try to explain it in usual terms.

I had no idea all of this had happened. :(
I just returned from a fishing trip on the upper Mississippi river back waters. So sad to hear what happened, but I was able to see first hand how our population of eagles has really expanded. Along the river between Lacrosse and Wabasha (about 60 miles), I counted over 40 nests, and that is just what I saw from the road. Someone later told me there are well over 300 nests along that stretch of river. Most of the nests I observed while I was fishing had little heads popping up, so thankfully we are still seeing their numbers expand.

yes ,and some were perturbed by the "party atmosphere" including petting the eaglet.....I agree..I've never seen anything like it...

But, all is well now apparently.
