Cal, having watched hours and hours of Downton over the long weekend, I am now feeling let down! I miss my Downton family! Lol! I could watch it all over again and again!  I love that it ended on a happy note! Yay, goody, you will take us on another ride! Can't wait!

Eaglette, since you mentioned how you feed your grand dog, I will tell you how we feed our spoiled dog, Molly! I don't remember how this all started but Molly will only eat her breakfast and dinner on my bed with both Crow and myself sitting on the bed with her! If one of us is missing she starts barking until the missing one comes in and sits on the bed! If Robin is here she is allowed to take one of our places! Lol!  Enjoyed your post!

Nora, you are a good neighbor!

Obsver, could you send some rain my way?

Hi Willi!

Ra, really missing you!

Lily.

I can't get too excited about this morning as I have yet to find my energy.  If any of you run across it please let me know.  I had it yesterday so it is just a matter of my misplacing it.

cal,  the Marlins are 6 games out of the wild card and have 4 teams ahead of them.  Not very hopeful.

I certainly hope all of you are doing well and have very little to  complain about.  May you all have a great Wednesday.

Daily Updates
No Shots, Tasha Playing - UPDATE September 6, 2016
06 September 2016
Print Email
It?s not over, but we heard no shots the last couple days.

At the Bear Center, Tasha has energy. A Lily Fan caught that in this 5-minute video of her and her water tub. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNjghj8-GTg.Cub with expression
Cub with expression

A Lily Fan who is a teacher wrote a nice email about the Black Bear Boxes that she has used a lot. She knows the enthusiasm they can generate among students. She wrote:

?I am so excited that you put the bear boxes in your update. I feel they need lots of exposure and I?m sure you know I have thought it would be great to have ?scholarships? for teachers. The items in the box are so hands on, nothing technology can offer. I don?t see them as money makers; I see them as teaching the truth! The materials in the boxes are not what a typical teacher has access to in their county. Again I appreciate the ?advertisement?. I hope you will make it a monthly "commercial."

The ?scholarships for teachers? she mentioned is the idea that we hope someday, through estate planning, major donations, and the like; that we will have an endowment fund that will generate enough interest income to offer the Black Bear Boxes for free and to give schools gas money to drive school buses to the Bear Center for wonderful programs and interactive learning. If we have the income, we can spread the message farther and in more ways. At this time, reaching students has to be mainly onsite or through distance learning that requires more bandwidth than we presently have. In talking with the head of a large museum, we should be able to spend 5% of the endowment fund per year and have it covered by the interest, dividends, and other income the fund generates. At present, I believe shipping is about $80 dollars each way, which is prohibitive for many schools.

We caught this cub with a strange expression.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning, Jewelies! Heat! Humidity! Ugh!!! Miss those cool mornings we enjoyed last week. Rues, I tried to send you some of our rain, and I would love to send this humidity (not to you if you don't want it),  Feeding time is pretty intense here, too. I found out that the reason Big Tony was gaining weight, he would gobble his and go over to stare at the other cats so they would back off and back off until he could steal theirs. I stand watch, now, which makes him look very sad.   Ra, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Eaglette  :D  Question, is your daughter's dog being babysat by you or ???  I was thinking what it would be like if she took the dog back home.  ::)

We had 4.1 inches of rain, most of which was in the evening last night.  There was a very small tornado two miles north of town (not the first in the evening) and we didn't even had a severe thunderstorm warning.  Wonderful.  Everything is fine here other than the back yard being pretty spongy and wet.  It's 69 and breezy, but if you aren't right in the breeze the mosquitoes are terrible (to put it mildly).

Hi JP, nice picture of Lily.  :)

That Tasha is a little nut.  She was sure having fun with that tub, kind of like giving Tupperware to kids or pans.

Chester eats the best if I stand near him.  He'll look up and wag his tail two wags and go back to eating and look/wag again.  Maybe it's a security thing with him.  He gets one of those balls you can put their food in and roll it around to get it out at suppertime and the rest goes in his dish.  He eats the that just fine, but he's in the same room with us rolling it around getting the food out.

I obviously have been missing out on a lot of fun.  I am going to buy myself a metal tub and sit in it and throw it around the yard.

I watched that Ruby-Throated Hummingbird for  4:19 but it never flew.

Obsver, thanks but I'll pass on the humidity! lol!

Nora, that's a lot of rain! Glad the tornado didn't cause you any problems!

Well ... when my last laptop crashed, burned and died ... I lost my forum lists about everything, so I have to rely on whoever is posting it first ... so, Ra ... early happy birthday wishes to you... today and tomorrow.   ;)

I lost about 700+ photographs too.   :-\
