Good morning jewelies! it is............54 here! That is good too cause dennis that electrician friend is coming this morning to work on our generator and jim said power will be out for awhile. so hope he comes really early and gets started on it. sweets and girls will not have the fans but they will be okay with this cool weather. they are not even in the barn this morning out in the pasture. i got to go to walmart and then get gas to work on mowing on their pasture today.

HI JP! Thanks for the pic of Porter and how cute is he. I watched a great royals game last night. 10-0! ian anderson pitched a great game and salvy gordon got homers and well everyone got a hit last night. we been doing pretty good. We have an afternoon game and then we got a day break before heading to miami to take on your marlins! i saw on the news this morning chiefs lost to ram in preseason. big game was the royals to me.

Hi Rue! That vicious special was so good. missed the first 15 min but so good. showed when their neighbor upstairs he moved to NY. kinda sad. that violet is so funny. showed a christmas one and new a guy moved in upstairs.

Dogs barking wanting to be fed got lots too do hi to all you guys!

Good morning Jewelies! It's a cool, cloudy 70 degrees this morning. So refreshing! This weekend is Parkersburg's Homecoming so last night I went with my sis and her roommate Sandy to see the fireworks. Most of the streets in the courthouse district are closed during the festival because there are food vendors, carnival rides and lots of other activities happening. We always take our lawn chairs and sit in the middle of Market Street, the main street  thru town, to watch the fireworks which are set off high up on the hill across the Little Kanawha River. It always feels so weird to be sitting in the middle of one of the busiest streets in town where normally vehicles travel! We had checked radar and knew there was a storm heading our way. Sandy predicted it would hit around 10:05, 5 minutes after the fireworks were to begin! We were hoping the city would start the show early and they must have thought the same thing because the show started at 9:50! They normally last 15 minutes. Whew, the fireworks show went off without a hitch! Mother Nature even added in some lightning! Just as we were getting back to the car it started to rain! Lol!

Cal, I saw that special Vicious a couple months ago. Those 2 guys are so funny! Poor Rose, I wish her foot would straighten up! Sweet Soda enjoying her run! How is Roxie doing? Hope the guy gets your generator hooked up today! Especially since  today is cooler!  I use to ride my bike a lot and I enjoyed the bike trips I took with my sis. Then her knees conked out on her and she quit riding. I don't like to ride alone so my bike sits in the garage with 2 flat tires. I keep saying I'm going to start again, even had Crow put air in the tires, but then I never get around to it!

Jp, cool pic of Porter! I always look forward to your morning greetings!

Bbl!

That dog shame dog is really a pretty dog.  That's nice that he rehomes lizards  :D  Sorry about Rose being lame again Cal.  :( I had a fox trotter that was wonderful to ride, but he was built real slim and depending where we were the saddle wanted to slide.  He was an older horse we bought from a family in the neighborhood.  Story had it he was a retired forest ranger horse from out west.  That guy would go up, down, and through anything!  If we got to real muddy stretch I figured out he was looking where he wanted to go and to let him go where he wanted there.  He'd get muddy feet and the rest would be up to their knees.  Going down the steep incline to a little bridge everyone was leaning back and the horses were just plodding down it.  Old Arizona would put his back end down so from the side it looked like he was partially sitting and go down it with no problem and his back stayed level.  I loved it!  If we took him up to Tamarack (where that was ) it was pretty hilly and a rocky stream to cross and he just perked up and had spring to his step.  Bet he WAS from where they said he was.  You could put anyone on him and not worry.

Morning JP!  Porter looks like he's thinking and is about to wander off on a mission.  ;)

It's 62 at almost 11 AM and was down in the 50's overnight.  GREAT for sleeping!!

Last thing, I was looking at the mule again while I was looking for my post I thought I lost.  Love the ears.  Anyway, depending on where you're riding mules are supposed to be a lot more surefooted than horses, that's why they use more of the for taking people out like at Yellowstone.

Hi Nora! That is so cool about your fox trotter! i would let tuco go the way she wanted too when going downhill or up a steep hill. she knew better than me.  long rides i would have to get off and tighten up my cinch sometimes. yes julie loves tillie says she is really sure footed she had can't think of his name right know right but he was so neat i would ride him when we went up to see her and bruce. ranger his name was ranger and he used to be a trail riding horse. he was so nice and such a good horse. had fun riding him and she rode tillie. she wanted someone to ride him i said not a problem.i don't know if she still has him or not been awhile since we been up there. it is almost 80 here now been out mowing in the pasture. boy i would love to ride at yellowstone!

Hi you guys! well that dennis canceled out on us this morning the electric guy. i knew he would said his wife was sick all night and he just got up at 8:30 am i went on to walmart jim called me said our power was out. no storm nothing but power out. so when i got back still out and farmer electric guys drove up our driveway and said they are looking for the problem. finally got back on around noon. it was hot in the house. be nice to have that generator hooked up someday.

They use them for going up and down in the Grand Canyon too.  On that trail, you had better have a sure footed animal.

hi rues! just read your post! must of missed it.cool you got to see the fireworks! you shoukd ride your bike with someone. does robin ride? how about coyote shooting george his wife.  guess mr crow cant. maybe get a stationary bike like i got! ride it in my living room. but not lately. mowing now. that special was good! roxie doing okay. sometimes she kicks up her heels rolls that tail up. then she is stowed up a little. jennifer up the road from me lost her horse summer. had to put her down kidney failure. just awful. heart breaking. she was roses age 19 max her other horse he is roxie age 29 almost 30. max crying his eyes out for summer. i let jennifer borrow roxie. took her up the road not far and max so happy. she has a nice barn too and her husband got him a big fan. she saw mine awhile back. her pasture only 3 acres but enough for two. roxie likes max. jennifer looking for another old horse. i told her about elaine. she rescues old horses and has one jennifer is probably going to get. her name is irene she is blind too. she is 29. i think she is getting her tomorrow. roxie be home tomorrow. she really helped out old max. jennifer thought he would go first. never know. its hard thing

Eli.

I'm not up to par this morning.  I certainly hope the day improves.  I have to be in good shape for my Wednesday visit to the eye stabber.  This morning I was really having trouble reading the print in the posts and as I typed this.  Then it dawned on me that I had forgot to put my glasses on.

Even though  I am not feeling good I do sincerely wish for all f you  to have an enjoyable day.  A new week is starting and a fine day will be just right.
