HI Jewelies!  I'M HOME!!  Yay!  So nice to go away, but even better to come home. Handsome missed me and chewed me out, and Lily missed me, too, but they missed being outside even more than they missed me!  lol  Both of them went out before my daughter even left! It's so hot here, too... too hot.  We left at about 7:30, my daughter drove the whole way again.  Nice of her.  We didn't even stop to eat... just ate snacks all the way home!  I dread getting on the scale tomorrow...   :o

cal... I tried to post pics last night... no luck.  I tried to send them to you... no luck.  I tried to send them from my phone... no luck.  I hate Windows 8.1... I was just getting the hang of sending pics, and now %^&*!!  I always said I wouldn't get a tattoo, too... don't mind anyone else having one, as long as it's not too big and scary.  But, I was looking at a lot of the patterns they had in that tattoo shop yesterday and I think maybe I would get one someday.  I'm thinking maybe a little pinky ring one, since I can't wear rings at work.  I always catch them on something.  Who knows...

Eaglette... Good to see you!  Hope you send some of that weather here, too!  The tendons in my hands are pretty gruesome, too!  lol  Thin skin, so you can see them real good!  lol

Nora... Remember how the weather was when I came to Decorah?  It was around 100o every day!!  So unusual for way up there!  That's the only time in my life that I had swollen feet because of the heat!!  lol

Hi everyone!  Going to unpack and get settle back in.  BBL...

hi cal!  I don't like 8.1, I keep getting the notices to upgrade to 10, too.  Not sure I want to either.  Yes, I think the cat sitter girl did a good job.  She watered my plants that I put on the porch, but the plants and flowers in the flowerbeds are just pitiful!  So wilted and some dried up and dead... in just a week! We must not have had any rain here at all.  The litter box looked as good as a litter box can, and the food and water bowls were clean and full.  Just like it should be.  My grass is all dried up, too.  I just tried to email you a pic a different way than I tried last night and it wouldn't work either.

Lily sleeping in a tree.

cal, ra and anyone else, I cut over to Windows 10 right after it came out and have had zero problems with it.  I like it and I do a lot with my computer so I have given it a good workout.  The switch was easy and I recommend you switch while there is no cost to do it.

Wishes for all that you have a Sunday that is enjoyable.

Daily Updates
Today at the NABC - UPDATE June 11, 2016
11 June 2016
Print Email
The staff, volunteers, and interns are going to have another great learning opportunity this summer with our new yearling Tasha bear. We are all excited to have her at the NABC. Lucky and Holly forage
Lucky and Holly forage
For the first 30 days (approximately) she will be in the "bunker" den enclosure getting used to her new home. How do we get Tasha to trust her caregivers and become part of the Ambassador bear family? It will be a process that will unfold over the coming days and weeks. Will the process be similar to what was done with Lucky and Holly when they arrived at the NABC? Only time will tell us as we get to understand Tasha. She has her own cam and you can watch her as she explores her new home at www.bear.org under the Live Cameras tab. http://www.bear.org/website/live-cameras/live-cameras/tasha-s-cam-live.html

Tasha arrived on June 6 and we can already see progress. Check out this video of her running around the enclosure this morning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCha613zL4M.

As Sharon, the curator, and staff work with her we will see her begin to trust the caregivers and become more confident of her surroundings. She is already responding to her name and will come to the fence for treats. She would rather have just a few folks approach her at a time, unlike Ted bear who always likes a crowd.

As you can see in this picture Holly and Lucky were foraging together. The month of June is mating season and it appears that Holly and Lucky are an "item."

Ted continues to have his time in the big enclosure in the morning, he lets us know when he wants to return to his Chalet. He enjoys all the extra attention he receives as visitors come back to see him during our popular Behind the Scene tours.

Thank you all for supporting the NABC and the WRI.

Good Morning Jewelies! It is 74 here and already humid 100 today too. calling for thunderstorms next week so maybe that is good except have to mow all this again sooner and don't know where them kittens are still. Happy Tasha is getting use to her new home. Already coming to the fence for treats. Only a few at a time unlike Ted who loves a crowd! lol. Oh that Ted! i can't believe he squeezed into that big tub for his shower i wonder who got to wash his back? Lucky and Holly an item! lol well if it was Ted and Holly that would be a big item!

Hi JP! Thanks for the picture of lily sleeping in that tree! Royal play this afternoon the white sox. we already lost a game to them. JP i have to ask you on windows 10 does it have windows live photo gallery like my 7 here? if not what is used to store your pictures? what does your menu look like does it have paint computer windows fax and scan stuff like that. Mostly i want to know about the pictures where you store them on your ten.

Hi Ra! if jp tells me storing my pictures will be like my seven here i am going to switch over on that new one sitting over there. not this one never ever give up my seven. sounds like she did a good job taking care of your stuff. been no rain here for awhile not complaining but would like cooler air for my girls and my barn got baby birds up in the top of it got a fan going full blast pointed up to the ceiling for them can hardly hear myself think with all the fans going on out there. caught 3 little mice and was heading out the side door there was the mom cat. i had her food and raccoons food. i sat the live trap down and went and fed her and the racoon and grained the girls. filled up the water bowls came back to get the trap and she sitting there watching them it has a window on top so you can see. she backed off ran back to the barn and i took them three around front and let them go there by the house in those big bushes where i have water and food. she killed a mouse last night when i went out. i tried to get her to let it go she ran behind the propane tank and lots of trees and stuff behind it. then she ran back in the barn and got on top of the hay. i still have not seen the kittens just that one time.

cal, I don't know what you mean by Windows live photo gallery.  Windows 10 carried over everything I had in 7.  It even let me have the same desktop as in 7.  I had my pictures in
the windows picture folder and they are still there and I break them down into separate folders
