Dad hath no fury if he does not know they are not there.  I had borrowed one but I got it  back in 4:04 so he never knew it was gone.

That reminds me of a situation I had with my two boys.  I was living on the Naval Weapons Annex north of Charleston, SC.  One day I was out in the woods (there are a lot of them in any Naval Ammo site) and I came across a tree with a nice metal hatchet stuck in the trunk.  I said to myself "that is a good hatchet it is just like the one I have" and I pulled it out of the tree and took it with me.  When I got home to put it on my work bench I noted that mine was not there.  Much interrogation and appropriate punishment never did yield which one took it into the woods and left it there.  I must admit I was furious.

For everyone's information.  I am over my GOM session.  In fact I am feeling chipper.  I am back on all 4 cylinders again.
When I was younger I had 6 cylinders.

Thanks for the puzzles, Cal ... I look for and do them every day.  It took me 18:11 to round up and bring in those tools.  (87 piece Crazy)

eaglette ~  you are most definitely not the slowest puzzle doer in town.  Even when I do the cut that is offered, my time is often almost double everyone else's.  no biggie.   :)

These are major league ball players.  When the pitcher throws a ball over the middle of the plate (Volquez) it is always hit hard.  Score 1-0.

Hi Jewelies!  Been working at the office tonight, just got home.

cal... How's the game going?  Anxious to hear how the Royals are doing...  My dad was pretty picky with his tools, too.  He had a place for everything, but we NEVER touched his tools!!   :o  Your story was funny!

JP... My daughter has the same trouble with her two girls that you had with your two boys.  I didn't do it, I didn't do it, etc...  lol  Sometimes they both get in trouble because one wouldn't fess up!  Glad you got your 4 cylinders going today!

dlong... One of my customers did the make ahead meals program, too.  The food looked pretty good.  She was making hers for a family of four.  Seems like a good idea, if you're not a picky eater like I am.  lol  I like plain ole food, nothing fancy, no sauces except brown gravy, no sweet and sour, no nuts with regular food, lots of stuff like that.  Those meerkats are so cute!

Hi neva!  Hi Eaglette!  Hi rues!  Hi obsver!  Hi blschue!  Hi Nora!  Hi anyone I missed!

Cal, so sorry for your Royal flush down the toilet game today.   Now you will have them on home turf though and maybe that will bring about the results you are hoping for.

neva:  7:07 for me.  finally not the very last of places but I did mine on 41 pc tetris.

SED to all.

There are those who choose to dwell in conspiracy theories who will say that the Royals let up so that they could return home as the Owner makes more money from the home games.  I personally think they were out played.  Pitching let them down.

That class sounds great D!  And to buy everything you needed for those would probably cost more than the class does.  Let us know how it goes!  Love meerkats.

Hi JP  ;)

Awww neat dog shame with the TP.

That's good about the hatchet JP.  Those boys must have really stuck together on that one.  Wonder if someday you can ever get it out of them now that they're so much older  :D

"but i said we have to tell..we have too..so i told..thank goodness for mom's!!!!!!!"   :D :D :D

Hi RA!

Eaglette "Royal flush down the toilet game today"  :D :D  Not laughing because they lost, just the statement. :)

Lily and her family last June.

Another late night but I am peaceful about it this morning.  No baseball game(s) today so I will get to bed early.  Mets beat the cubs in four straight games so they are in the World Series.  I hope the Royals can get their act together when they resume play Friday.

dlong, winding up with 16 meals for a cost of 65 dollars is amazing.  You must have a huge freezer if you can get all that food in there.  Those Meerkats are cute little guys.

May all of you be blessed with  good weather and positive results this day.

Back in the Saddle - UPDATE October 21, 2015

Sunrise over Lake of the Woods - 10/20/15
Sunrise over Lake of the Woods - 10/20/15
It was a quick trip to Winnipeg and back to give the Den Cam presentation that I will soon turn into a YouTube video for everyone.

Afterward, we stopped by the Winnipeg Zoo and started back home. The next morning, the sunrise over Lake of the Woods gave a pretty start across the prairie to our home in the forest study area. Juvenile eagle - 10/19/15
Juvenile eagle - 10/19/15
It was different to see miles down the straight level roads, unlike the hilly, curvy roads in the glacial terrain we are used to. A short way down the road, 11 bald eagles and some ravens were gathered around a road-killed deer. Back in our home county, we saw a beaver lodge we stopped to photograph in case it would be useful in the Northwoods Ecology Hall.

Three things were encouraging the last few days. (1) The enthusiastic reception of our Den Cam presentation. (2) Learning that truth is winning in the end as biologists begin to question misconceptions that have persisted too long about bears.

Thank you for all you do.

Gotta borrow that dog shame, love it!

I hope you can get to sleep when you go to bed earlier tonight JP being you've been up later lately, I'm sure you need it.

That was a gorgeous juvie eagle in the update and sounded like things went well for our bear center people.

Off to try the bear friend puzzle, THANKS CAL.

Hi Jewelies!  :)

Well, I'm disappointed that the Royals didn't win yesterday but glad they will be back here to finish off those Blue Jays! The city has pretty much turned blue for the occasion. Lots of our fountains are blue and buildings too. Oh, and the bridges across the Missouri River will all be blue. Here are just a few of the blue things:

Northland Fountain. I used to live very close to this one.

Children's Fountain. This one is north of the river too.

Spirit of Freedom Fountain. This one is near the Plaza.

Bond Bridge; carries I-35 over the river.

Kauffman Center for Performing Arts

Cal The cooking class is at the Liberty Community Center, not the one here. How is your toe today? Did your appointment go ok? A friend of my daughter's has 2 tickets for sale for Friday's game. They are pretty good seats behind 1st base dugout. Only $600 for the pair. Not a bad price either.

JP I just have a regular size freezer but I'm a good stacker! That was a sweet picture of Lily and the cubs. My dad was a mechanic and had a huge number of tools. He was so picky about them. He had 2 of those big standing up red cabinets on wheels for his good tools and a couple of big tool boxes about waist high for his other not-so-important tools. About 10 years before he died, he was working on some big project for my brother and had loaded all of his tools up in one of the company trucks to take to the job site. He had everything all covered up and parked in the driveway at home. When he got up very early the next morning to go to the site, every single tool was gone. Plus all of his saws and drill sets that were in separate containers were gone too. He was devastated! The insurance company gave him $5,000. He said that the tools he lost were so much better than the tools he was buying to replace them. No one ever found any of the tools. I feel certain that it was someone we knew well who stole them.

Eaglette I'm hoping that I will like the recipes they use for the class.

Ra I'm not a very picky eater and I like to try new things. I may not always like them, but at least I try. But once I find out I don't like something there is no way I will eat it even to be polite! I love meerkats. They are so funny.

Nora Yes, I'm really excited about the cooking class. The meerkats are certainly cute and they always look so interested.

Rues I love pansies also. My grandma used to have tons of them in her flower beds. I like the dark violet ones the best. I know about the spelling thing. I used to be an excellent speller and now I find myself making really silly mistakes.

Obsver Is your furnace on yet? More panda pics coming up!

Meerkats celebrating Halloween early.

One of the Atlanta twins. They have a new camera provider. Much better than the other one.

Ted in his house.

They thought Lucky was done for the season and while I was watching earlier, surprise! He apparently heard someone over around Ted's place and got up to investigate. So he raked a little straw and walked around a little. He looks so hansome and shiny!

And finally, Bei Bei and his mom napping. He is just the cutest thing ever, but what a loudmouth!!  :o :o

Hi to Neva, Deb, Chippy, Pat, Blschue and everyone who visits here. Have a great evening! :)
