hi you guys its 40 here rainy still barn took on some water hope this rain moves out today like they say it will next thursday summer maybe be leaving may have snow.  i take out a butter bowl with a lid to the barn in the morning it has dry cat food and a can of fancy feast for maybe i put it in my green bucket i have in the garage full of dry dog food and some cookies for the raccoonies. i set the little green bucket on my step stool head back to clean up poop. i heard my bucket when i went back up maybes bowl was missing im pretty sure who swiped it. i always keep a couple of cans of her cat food by back of the barn so i fed her that. will have to get my spotlight and fish that bowl back out from raccoonie tunnel in the hay.

Mountain Pasture ... 25:55     70°  (2:26 pm)   Sunny with light clouds.  No wind.

Hi you two, and anyone else that might drop by.  I hope that your day is going well.  I'm doing okay.

Hi Cal ...   Thanks for posting the Native American photo.  I think not many are aware of it being Native American Heritage Month.  I also think that as a group, they get overlooked most of the time anyway.

Well, Raccoonies are wearing masks and look like Banditos, so no wonder they are running off with everyone else's food.  When my daughter used to go camping with a friend of hers and their family, a pack of these Banditos would show up and steal the Tortillas.

Hi Joho ...  That was nice of you to help Rita get some fresh air and exercise.  I bet you had a great time.

6:10  Second coffee waiting and getting cold.  So GTG.  Paper waiting too.  I love the Sunday paper, and it is the only issue that still comes in the morning to my driveway. The other days it is in my mail box at all hours.  Yesterday it came at 5:55 PM!!!!  What kind of a morning paper is that?
Well going to be a nice day here.  It is 56 degrees at an early but really late 9:19 am.  Going to be over 70 again they say.  I will go out walking and/or riding this afternoon.

I love it when the person on GSB Falcon Cam pans across the Mississippi and shows us the sunrise.  I always think of Samuel Clemons books and Tom and Huck Finn's adventures when I see those islands.
Also there are no animals on Snowman Cam, but there is a lady cleaning up with a big scoop shovel and a heavy sweatshirt.  Cool there.
Just FYI

Tree Africa ...  33:04      81°  (3:06 pm)   Sunny, no wind or clouds ... yet.    A really nice day.

I hope that everyone is having a nice day.  May it be going where you want to take it.

Cal ... the teepees are very interesting.  Mine isn't there.  Cree (Canadian first nations).  I'd love the job of decorating one of those teepees.    Maybe is sure taking risks around Sweets.  That boy has attitude.

Hi Joho ...  Nice weather for getting out there.  My daughter, Susan, up in Cheyenne Wy is getting snow now.  I sure don't miss snow.

Black Bear Field Study Courses and Give To The Max Day - UPDATE November 6, 2022

Bear at WRI
Blame it on Ted that I am late with these announcements, but online registration is now open for the July and August 2023 Bear Courses. For Give to the Max Day, which is November 17, early donations can now be made online (more on that below).

Bears playing at the WRI
Bears playing at the WRI

It’s exciting for me to think about the Bear Courses because each course (Monday to Thursday) offers the satisfaction of meeting like-minded people and sharing excitement as we immerse ourselves in wild bears that are teaching us directly. As I’ve said before, the courses are life-changing for people who fear bears, unforgettable for people who appreciate them, and essential for wildlife professionals. We see and hear their vocalizations, their body language, and how they relate to each other and to people. On walks to old dens, leaders point out bear sign and wild foods. Attendees ask questions during walks, over dinner, during lectures about what black bears are like and how they live, or whenever is convenient. Our leaders have more experience with wild bears than anyone we know in the world, but the best teachers are the bears you meet. What they teach you directly no ‘expert’ can tell you is wrong. Most people never have this kind of exposure to bears.

About 30 spaces are still open. For more information about the courses, travel, special diets, local points of interest, etc., contact Judy Thon at [email protected]. You can register online and learn more at bearstudy.org, and the direct link to the registration page is https://www.bearstudy.org/field-study-courses/reserve-your-spot.html

For Give to the Max Day:

GiveMN EarlyGivingClick to learn more!

Early giving is underway for Give to the Max Day and runs until November 16. One $500 Early Giving Golden Ticket will be awarded daily from all early donations made now through November 16.

This year’s Give to the Max Day donations for the North American Bear Center will be used toward the labor costs and additional materials needed to complete our bear enclosure enhancement project. Your generosity in the past three Give to the Max Days provided the funds to purchase the fencing. The next phase, planned for spring, will be installing the fencing and making additional improvements to the bear enclosure. This includes new dens for each of the bears and upgrading the infrastructure. We are extremely thankful for your generosity over the past several years and look forward to your continuing support. Click here to learn more.

Scott and team will be Live tomorrow, Nov.7 at 11 am CST to talk more about Give to the Max Day. Join them on the Special Events cam or on Facebook Live https://bear.org/special-events.

Thank you for all you do,
Lynn Rogers, Biologist, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center

5:43 Yay I am average. Almost. LOL
Busy day today.  First my once weekly Trulicity that I often forget to take.  Then at 8am at senior center for tickets to Scrooge play bus trip.  Got to be there at 8.  They fill up in minutes.  They have a small bus.
Then get Jenny's cheddar popcorn for girls at Dr Miclats office.  The up stairs girls missed out on the bag I took there last week. I found this out when the upstairs girls called with my visit reminder, and I asked if cheddar was their favorite flavor popcorn. She says what popcorn. LOL UH OH.  It was a smallish bag of cheddar popcorn, and the downstairs girls ate it all.  I will take two bags today.  Joan taught me to take things for the workers wherever she went.  She would take bakery. popcorn, donuts, cookies, etc every time, and there were lots of times.
Also banking, and I need milk and bread.  Made a list and need to get started now.

OK you guys.  9:15 and got a good start.  Senior center for Scrooge play reservation first one on list, two cheddar popcorn in car for Dr. office gave cashier a $1.50 tip she was glad, weekly Trulicity on board.
Next two bank stops and go to Drugmart for milk and bread.  Then lunch and rest up a while before Dr. visit at 2:30.  Friend coming over for dinner at 5pm. Might be able to squeeze in a bike ride after Dr. visit, but not really on list.  So not sure.  No walking and no fishing on list for today.  Maybe tomorrow.
Feel good today.  Being busy suits me.

Igloo ... 31:17     82°  (2:34 pm)   a few light clouds, sunny and apparently no wind ... yet.  It's a good day.

Hi you two ... and any visitors here.  May your day be going well.

Cal -  I can't imagine that woman having the nerve to say that to Jim.  What a moron she is!  I'm glad she retired.  We turned our ballots in at a Church, and there was one security guard type at the 75 foot marker and it was very peaceful and the people were nice.  Nobody asked us anything.  Arizona has become one of those crazy states where all kinds of crazy behavior happens, unfortunately.  ☹️
That is sad because I love this state.

That Cree encampment looks a bit shabby compared to the other teepees that you posted yesterday.  Possibly they are of a more recent time and reflect more poverty than earlier in their history.  Not sure.  I always thought that ...'if I ever won the Lottery' ...  I'd use a portion of it to help the Native Americans.  Their struggle is not really recognized much.  I would find those that wanted an education and I would educate Lawyers, teachers, doctors and anyone that could pay it back with service to their community.

Joho -  It sounded like you have a wonderful day planned out.  Cal and I love hearing that.    😊
