Good morning everyone-  cal- ty for the greeting; i am keeping my fingers crossed for sister today!

It is 60 here and another beautiful day on the way. Yesterday i cleaned  the inside of bertha. Not sure when the last time was. Really vacuumed well- took out the mats- vacuumed and scrubbed them. They dried in the sun really well.  I hosed off the outside but will have to go to the car wash to do a better job. We didn't have any carwash soap. It is so dusty here that cleaning the outside is mostly a waste of time.

Trees here are starting to turn and the farmers are starting to harvest- mostly beans so far. On my way to the grocery store i noticed several fields had been  done.

No plans today- walk and class-  steak here with butternut squash and a salad  for lunch.

Have a great day jewelies!

Happy Birthday Lupine.  Thanks for your posts.
Finally put my shoe on this morning.  Hurts now. Darn. Well healing will take some time I guess.
Good luck to Cal's sis.  Maybe she can drive Cal home this evening.  Or better yet follow her home so she can drive back herself.
Went to Walmart early for me.  It was about 9:30.  Not crowded.  So pretty safe I think.
Can't find any French's Chili-o.  How is that for a problem?  LOL   All the stores around here are out of it.  Have tried lots of other brands, but don't like them as much as I like French's.
Well too nice out now to stay in.  So I will sign off and go somewhere.  Might even try biking a little since I have my shoe on now.  Then I will make some Great Value chilli.  I will put in two packs to boost flavor.
Bye for now.  May God bless those in need.

Cal, hope Polly does well! Fingers crossed!

Lupe, hope you are having a very nice birthday!

Jo, sometimes I can't find French's chili-o either. I made chili Tuesday and used Walmart's Great Value brand. It was ok but I think I'll stock up on French's when it is back on the shelves!

Ra, no Thanksgiving dinner for Crow (thank goodness!). He wanted a steak and baked potato! Easy peasy!

Hi Jewelies!  Cool and rainy today, thanks to Beta...

rues and Joho... Isn't it strange that we all like Chili-O the best??  I haven't seen it here either, but McCormick's is second best to me. I like McCormick's white chili mix, too, but it may be a little spicy for some.

cal... Waiting to hear how Polly did...  Hope that in the future she does good and remembers what you have taught her.  After dealing with back issues for about 30 years, I think I'm finally going to get an xray and see what exactly is going on.  Getting hard to work these days.  My doctor gave me the paperwork I need to get it done, and said she knows how I like tests of any kind and told me to just go when I was ready.  Nice doctor... she listens and knows me and doesn't push when I say no to something.  It was kinda funny when I went for my physical, they asked all kinds of questions.  One was do you eat at least 4 fruits and vegetables each day?  I said I was lucky to eat 4 servings a week!!

lupine... Hope you're having a good birthday!

Have a good evening, Jewelies!  Wish obsver was here to talk about the Masked Singer...

Ted's Retirement Celebration - UPDATE September 24, 2020
24 September 2020
 Print Email
On August 20th Ted made the big move to his new peaceful quarters. With the increased number of behind the scene tours (due to Covid-19) and his obligation to greet his guests, he was beginning to tire out. It was time.

He has settled in nicely in his new enclosure and his fans continue to watch him on the Pan Tilt Zoom cam. Ted still receives lots of love and attention from the staff, interns, and occasionally visitors.

Teds Retirement

The staff and fans will celebrate Ted's retirement tomorrow (Friday) at 1 pm CDT on Ted's cam. He will receive a large "watermelon cake" filled with many of his favorite treats and Sharon will share some of the heartfelt messages his fans have sent him. Click here to join the fun on Ted's Cam!

Hi jewelies it is 60 here 65 in the barn one raccoonie but when i go back in an hour all the food will be gone. I am going to try to watch ted cam at 1 pm today see his party.

Hi Lupe hope you had a happy day yesterday sounds like you did.

hi joho when i make jim chili i use the extra hot packet i think it is great value but not sure i put a little in once he said no very spicy okay so i dumped alot in it oh man that is hot.

Hi rues happy you did not have to do that whole thanksgiving dinner again and i am sure a turkey somewhere is happy too.

well we left here at 9 am jim stopped at this battery place downtown kc mo i dont like it much down there i stayed in the truck and then we drove to kansas to sisters went in she had her sack of stuff to get that gold star she wears this old fanny pack around her waist full of junk cant even zip it shut her wallet full of junk hangs to the side looks like it is ready to fall out then she has these all these metal snaps deals snaps it to her fanny pack deal and it hangs down pretty far jim hates it once she scratched his truck with it now she has to take it off before getting in his truck or my car all that for one lousy key. we told her at her place when we get to the driver place i will hold on to her fanny pack and that stupid chain deal not walking in with that or taking the test with it. so we got fine early two hours drove around where the place is old part of town speed limit is 20 off of main. take main all the way thru and the new part tons of stuff walmart mcdonalds etc so we ate at mcdonalds sister said she wanted what jim got but he got a number i dunno it was fish and when he got it she did not want that so he drove back thru got her a cheeseburger and fries and he ate two fish meal i got an order of medium fries diet dr pepper. got back to the place i had to use the bathroom and you could go in the door down the hallway a bathroom driver license door there closed till 1 pm for lunch. there was a card table with a sheet asking about the virus do you feel etc and a chair jim told me to sit in that chair so i did. sister sat on the floor it was getting closer to 1 i told sister give me your fanny pack and that chain i will put it in this sack with all your stuff she did not and jim told her give your sister that stuff then she mumbled something she does this to me alot i just ignore it at home tell her i am going to the barn and do not come out there. anyway jim said what did you say she said hateful nothing jim said i heard you polly. right now give her that stuff. later jim told me she said i should of came alone and jim said he really wanted to jerk her up off that floor and leave like sister how could you of possibly done any of this alone. but like i said this is what i deal with what mom dealt with. so i had her junk and i said lets just knock it off. then the peole who work there came we went in went up to the counter and lady was really nice but needed a photo id i said she does not have one sister started her talking jim got her to tone it down not let them see her mental state so to speak. i kept going thru her sack of junk and there was her photo id when she worked for the schools i gave it to the lady and she said there we go. she called topeka let them know sister on her 3rd try i heard her say something about mental stuff with sister. on the table right there i saw a sheet with ? first one has your driver license been revoked and then other stuff so she asked sister that and she said no i said its revoked right now and the lady said not to help her answer i did not know it was a test so rest pretty easy on the one born in usa sister said no and the lady said what jim mad and then like to her self she laughed yes born in usa not funny sister not funny at all. then we sat back down man giving another driver test he came back and got sister. we saw her leave and then like 10 min later drive back she came in walked past me and jim got up and went back out to talk to that man sister said she failed. jim came back in got me said i want you talk to this man so i went out he said she pulled out in front not one but two cars at two different places they had to slam on their brakes he said he gunned the car taking off constantly and in his opinion should not drive. i was pretty upset jim really mad at her. so we went back in and jim was saying can she get a photo id sure we went back to the counter but she held up a form said sister would be giving up her license and i know guys she needs too but it is her choice and lady and that driver guy agreed she has one more shot at it. jim had given her 22.00 for it asked sister what do you want to do oh i forgot when jim went out there sister was arguing with that man jay who flunked her said i have car payments and you have to give me my license back jim told her to back in. anyway she was leaning against the window ledge and saying well whatever jim was mad he said no what do you want to do whatever jim told that lady give me back my money no photo id went back out and got one last appt for her to take that test nov 12 and we left got in the car and jim yelled at her what was your hurry that you could not wait for those two cars to go by before pulling out no answer you would of passed he was mad i was mad too all that work 3 months driving 150 miles to get her come back here taking her back another 150 miles 300 miles a week for this. i told her i am done jim will come get you on the 12th from ford and you better do what jim tells you cause and jim said i will pick you up off the floor and put you back in your car and leave period. had it. i promised my dad i would look out for her and i love her jim said oh your dad is saying enough you have done all you can and i am not upset that lady there said there comes a time when you have to give up driving sometimes she has a ride to work i got her into that taxi discount program dona got her help too they have meals there where she lives we will still go get her to come up here stop so she can get those awful cigs walgreens is right behind where she lives. she could buy cig there she will just have to sell her car. not my fault. on the way back to her place jim snapped at me for something i said i did not do anything sister from the back seat he is mad at me jim started out again why did you pull out like that when we finally got home jim helped me to catch up he mowed a patch for pearl so i can rake it up this afternoon you guys penny and brownie left in my room all day long did not get home till almost 5 pm did not go the bathroom in my room! griz went in the kitchen but on those pads i had down very good kids i have. pearl happy to see me i will tell you that left them all day for nothing. not again will not do that again.

Good morning everyone- wow cal- what an ordeal with sister. It  really sounds like she is up against it- one more try.  She  is so lucky to have you and Jim on her side. But maybe she just shouldn't be driving. And i'm sure your Dad would see you've done all you can.

Yesterday was a fun day- we had a small party after class; then i made steak and squash for lunch- cookies from my niece for dessert.  I toyed with the idea of going to the bookstore to shop but didn't go. Maybe i'll hit the store early some day. Usually we go out to eat and then the bookstore but ykw has changed all that.  Hubby forgot that yesterday was my birthday. He didn't remember until he looked at his watch to see the date to figure out which way to walk at the rec center. Odd days- clockwise, etc. When he came home= he was very repentant. As he should have been.

Need to get started- just saw on the weather- maybe a frost next week. Need to clean in the summer house and cat barn.

ra- rues, johoward, cal and neva- ty for the greetings!!!

I have been having a problem with Ted's cam-  it continues to buffer; anyone else. I hope to tune in today for the retirement party.

Have a great day jewelies!

Dear Cal,

I don't know what the future holds for Sis.  That must have been one of the worst days ever for her.  As well as for you and Jim.

May God help all those in need.
