Mom Gerry?s Funeral - UPDATE February 1, 2020
01 February 2020
 Print Email
It was a wonderful funeral, if that is possible. Everyone made me feel at home. My great mother had told everyone about her times with me and the bears.Lynn, Gerry and Linda with resting bear 6-2004

It made me want to see everyone again. I surprised a couple people by telling them how their mother and father had met back in the early 1940?s. Their father had saved me from drowning in Lake Michigan and as a result met Gerry?s little sister who he eventually married. He continued to call me until he died decades later. The near drowning was when I was small and my birth mother, her sister, and my adoptive mother had taken me to Lake Michigan for a week on the beach.

At the funeral, I felt such support. My whole family and my old buddies from the neighborhood were there. Someone from my high school class came. It was great to again meet Gerry?s relatives I hadn?t seen for decades. I wore the engraved gold ring Gerry made for me saying ?I love you, Son.? We all took many pictures of us together.

The picture here is from one of my mother's bear visits to the WRI over the decades. It is of a resting wild bear, me, Mom Gerry, and my half-sister Linda who could not have been better to me at the funeral. A sad but good time.

The deer is looking up at me on the second floor deck after I emptied a scoop of sunflower seeds down over the railing. Back at home.

Thank you for all you do.

That wolf on the beach DOES look like a mouse.  :D

I hope things go ok for hubby's sister, Lupe.  Mud -- seems to early, but frost coming out will do that.

We're at 41 today and it's SUNNY!!!  We finally had some sun yesterday to, but not like today's.  It's wonderful.

Rues, couidn't he have creamed soups that don't need chewing or doesn't he like them.  Broth doesn't sound that great  :-\  Poor guy.  Cal's pudding idea sounds good too, jello.................

Cool about her riding the horse out when the Chiefs score.  Every time?  Or don't they score often  ;)

Aww the poor dog eating the whole pound of bacon!  I bet they WERE BOTH in the doghouse.  :)

"groundhog day tomorrow here suppose to be sunny and in the sixties if so six more weeks of winter"  Was it cloudy where P. Phil is???  I hope?

I hope you enjoy the game today JP!!!  It's SO good to see you!  For our main man here............

Interesting update about the funeral from Lynn Rogers.  I'm glad it was a good visit, even if for a sad occasion.  It IS good see some of the relatives that a person hasn't in a very long time.

JP! Love the vicious bear, I just want to hug him/her.  The teddys look like they're all set to watch the game.  I won't be, but am sure Joe will be.

Guess I'll give Chester his lunch and find something for mine.  Have a great day all!!!!

Hi Jewelies!  Sunny here, too!  Nice and warm, too.  Going to take my new laptop in on Tuesday.

JP... HI!!  So nice to see you here with your pretty teddy bears and the mean bear, too!   :D  Are you going to the Super Bowl?  You might as well, since it's right close to you!  lol

cal... Does the same girl get to ride the horse when the Chiefs score?  It would be cool if they had a drawing or something!

rues... Hope you have found something to feed Crow!  Hope he doesn't have to wait too long to get those teeth fixed up!

lupine... I'm like you... making this short...

Hi to Nora, Joho, and everyone else!  GO CHIEFS!!  Go Patrick!  Go Sammy!  Go Kelce!  Defense, too!  Hope it's a good game!

Yay Chiefs win.  Lots of good play on both sides.  Very good championship action.  Time to celebrate.  Joan had a very good day today and enjoyed the game with me.  Usually she would be in the other room on her computer. She appreciates quality, and saw lots of it today.
Also we enjoyed some special treats from Giant Eagle.
We experimented with roasted lobster tails and mussels and salad and humus and drinks and mashed potatoes and gravy and olive variety plate and ritz crackers and pretzel bun with cream cheese and deluxe nut variety pack and that's allllll folks.

Hi and bye to ev1.  especially you know who.   God Bless.
