Cal, I watched the musical video Dr Rogers posted. Awesome, both the music and the pics! I've heard that music before and I love it. Funny timing with all the snow pics today because I was going to mention Robin's latest trip. She leaves Friday morning on a trip to Lapland/ Finland! When she was in Iceland she and another Robin started making plans for a Jan 2020 trip to see the Northern Lights in Finland. I was hoping they would forget about it but they didn't. So we drop her off at Columbus airport Friday morning and pick her up 9 days later on Sunday evening, the 26. I told her most people go south in the winter not north! Especially that far north. I checked earlier today and it was  minus 10 there! I'll be a nervous wreck while she is gone.  It was foggy here today. Didn't burn off until 10:30! Next week we have big dip in the temps. Highs in the 20's and lows in the teens. Ugh.  I've have my fingers crossed for a Lily den cam, too. That would be so cool.   Sis and I had planned to go to Walmart this morning but she was dizzy so we didn't go. Called after supper and she is still dizzy. She thinks it's because she isn't eating. She says she isn't hungry. I told her she had better call the dr ofc tomorrow if she isn't better. Finally had to tell her about Robin's trip. I had been waiting to tell her because she worries as much as I do. She wasn't happy.

Lupe, I dread those middle of the night or early morning phone calls. You know it has to be bad. Hope everything works out ok.

Jo, so sorry that Joan is in such pain. Wish someone could help ease her pain and suffering. Hugs.

Have a nice evening everyone!

 new drugs.Hi ev1,

May God bless all those in need.

Joan got a call this morning from her new doctor.  Blood tests showed many very high levels of pain causing inflammation chemicals in her system.  She started Prednisone, and will start another longer term anti inflammatory drug this afternoon.  Have to watch her blood sugars closely while taking these.  Maybe we can taper off some of the other drugs she has been taking due to this new diagnosis.  Sure hope so.  She can hardly stay awake.

Hi everyone- what a day yesterday. We thought we had bil settled but got a call at 7:30 last evening. He was in pain and wanted to go to the E.R. So hubby went and I stayed home in case his wife was uneasy and needed me to stay with her. Hubby got home about 1A.M. and after phoning our nephew (lives on the west coast) we got to bed around 2. Hospital kept bil- diverticulitis and an infection in bowel- will be in the hospital 5- 7 days. So hopefully his son will come in soon.
Spent most of the morning calling and visiting people and this is the first I've sat down. Sleepy now.

Have a great day jewelies!
johoward- just read your post- oh I so hope joan gets some relief. Prednisone did wonders for me last spring.

Visitors Included Stripe! - UPDATE January 16, 2020
16 January 2020

As I sat at the computer the last couple days, warm suet attracted ravens with their excellent sense of smell; sunflower seeds attracted goldfinches; and Stripe was here for bologna after not being seen for a week. Mink Stripe
Mink Stripe
She came out of a hole in the snow at the base of the steps and was her old self running up the steps trip after trip in a quest that ended up being 10 pieces of bologna stashed under the deck. I was excited to see her, and she was good to tip her head up to show her chin patch with a stripe on each side of it.

I?ve looked for tracks every day and saw none until she made her appearance. Mink are said not to hibernate, but I wonder if they?ve been studied well enough to know whether they drop their metabolism periodically to help themselves through winters where lakes are iced in right up to the shore and mice are under a couple feet of snow that has no crust and could make mink vulnerable to traveling otters. If so, Stripe has it made here. I hope she shows us babies (called cubs or kits) in early summer.

Good morning everyone- I just slept 10 hours straight!! Wow. Never heard hubby come to bed. He's usually noisy enough that I stir but not last night. Lots of phone calls yesterday - my bill's daughter from Illinois coming today for the weekend and not sure exactly when his son is coming from the west coast. I feel better about the weekend any way.
We do have that storm coming -cal- but our outlook is for snow this afternoon- starting around noon then changing to rain and sleet mix around 6 PM tonight. That really sucks. I love winter- hate sleet, ice, etc.  We are all stocked up and ready to hibernate this weekend.

I believe today is our Ted's birthday- 23 years for our wonderful NABC bear.

Basketball tonight- 8 PM on Big 10 TV.  Australian Open starts Sunday night- yippee!!

Have a great day jewelies!

hi jewelies! Yes Thank you Ted for all you do and a very happy birthday hope you have tons more!i it is 35 here feels like 25 everything still a thick sheet of ice. i let griz out and he could not get up that ramp i put a heavy rug i had in the garage down and it slid down the ramp so i got a dog blanket got down on my knees and got it all across the ramp and then picked up that rug and pulled it back on the ramp then he went to side wish the ground is sheet of ice and tried to jump on the ramp and he could not i was afraid he would fall i went back in to look for his collar penny was barking at the door and there was griz. i left the blanket there. if we can get out today get some pet friendly salt or more gravely cat litter. sick of this ice. i skated to the barn went to pull that door open hard and it opened right up. my raccoon was in there waiting for dog food and cookies had them birds looking for food had it.

HI jp! I am pretty sure you dont have this ice! that would be bad wouldnt it and surprising. new said yesterday morning there was 67 wrecks.

hi lupe we never got that snow i saw another system moving in great but maybe just rain dont really need that at all up in st joe they are having snow right now.
