Good Morning Beakers!

Wow, I really slept late this morning! A new trend???

Phyl, there you are, I have been waiting for you! Lovely morning pictures! Very interesting 365, great underwater view of the fish swimming upstream, they really have to swim hard! So, how is Jim, and how are you? Have you been able to check on the Bluebirds? I looked at the eggs in my hanging planter and have verified that they are Finch eggs. Pale blue with a few tiny specks. I just hate that she flies off every time the door opens!

Lani, I had to check out the porcupine's sounds, wow. I would never have guessed! Pretty night picture... Oh my gosh, the Raven stealing Iris's egg. I am sort of glad, at least it didn't have much time to develop. If only Finn had returned...

baz, love that video! I have all of those birds at my feeder pergola! A Cardinal couple has been stopping by, and the Blue Jays, love to watch them grab peanuts, one at a time! The Black-capped Chickadee, Robin, Mourning Dove and, of course, the hog at the feeders, the Grackle.  The Grackles have been at my feeders in numbers, but usually they are accompanied by Red-winged Blackbirds. I have only seen a couple Blackbirds  so far this year. I haven't heard about a Retirement party for Ed, but his boss did ask him to come into the office Friday at 11:00 so I am suspicious. He does have to go in to turn in his laptop, but that would be at the end of his day. Also, his boss is flying in, supposedly for a meeting...  And yes, I think Harley a/k/a Turdbutt doesn't want us seeing him cuddling with the youngsters. Sophie likes to jump on him and start licking him, it will take him a little longer to cuddle with her I think!

BL, love your story of the night in Vermont, I can just picture it!

Paulie, I hope your cabin in the woods is okay and just needs a little work. I know what you mean about energy, I have heard that kids start draining our energy as soon as they are born... By the time they leave home we are running on a lot less... I'm so sorry to hear about Charlie's heart issues, prayers will be going out for him.

Lisa, glad to hear that you are getting better!

tsk, losing posts is happening way too often lately. I will email Amy today and ask about the auto-save. From the information BL got, it may be available! Sounds like they still don't have all of Tim's meds doing what they want. I know it took a while for the doctors to get Mom's AFib meds at the right dose. Men don't like it when they can't do all the things they used to do, especially when you end up doing it... I saw that so well with my Dad.

World Bird Sanctuary - Two Bald Eagle chicks rescued after nest tree falls into the river!
Our rehabilitation staff rushed into action after receiving a call that a Bald Eagle nest tree had fallen into the river with 2 eaglets in the nest. Bonne Terre resident, Ray Settle, was out on his property making preparations for incoming storms when he noticed that the nest tree was down. Upon investigating, he found both eaglets alive and still in the nest, but they were slowly sinking into the river.
It was immediately apparent that a canoe or small boat would be needed for the rescue. Thankfully, Mr. Settle owned a canoe that he was willing to let us use to reach the eaglets.
The canoe enabled our rescuers to get as close as possible to the eaglets, who were now up to their bellies in the water as the nest continued to break up around them. One eaglet took a brief swim trying to evade rescuers, but both were safely secured without further incident.
Upon arrival at WBS, both eaglets received full exams and x-rays from the medical team. Thankfully, it seems that both eaglets managed to ride the nest down to a relatively gentle landing in the river and neither sustained any injuries. Unfortunately, since there is no nest to return them to, both eaglets will need to remain in care until they are old enough to fend for themselves.

Sloth TV
Sweet Petunia is a Three-Fingered Sloth who has a rough start to life. Abandoned by her mother, orphaned Petunia was struggling for survival. A baby this young relies on their mama for life-sustaining nutrition and protection, but Petunia had no one. Petunia was found in the same place where, 15 days earlier, rescuers had seen Petunia’s mother with two babies. We noticed that the mother was not doing well, and decided to bring her in, but we immediately noticed something was different. This mother-of-two only had one baby clinging to her back. Where had the other gone? Our team sprang into action and returned to the area where Petunia’s mother had been living, and lo and behold, baby Petunia was on the ground.

Petunia was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment and to be examined by our dedicated veterinary team. During her initial assessment, they noticed some abnormalities in her lungs on her X-ray. To get to the root of the problem and determine if a congenital problem or genetic condition. Petunia is scheduled for a CT.

PHYL   Beauty of a lily  :)   Had to google that variegated "shell ginger"   Beautiful.

CLYNN  A purple Wed. at your house  ;D   I do think there is a party of some kind in the works for Ed  ;D  That was truly some rescue of those eaglets or juvies I would say.  They should do well esp if placed with existing rescued eagles.

LANI   Awww  poor Petunia - Hope the CT will reveal the course of action to take.  Love the eyes closed photo  LOL

Got 6 more inside windows washed before Tim was ready for me to spread his seed top soil mix into the "grubbed" areas of our back yard.  Had to rake out the old dried grass and then put in the new stuff.  2 hours - I'm beat and that will be it for today.

Tsk. You are a whirlwind of energy if you wanna come on down and clean my screen porch and plant grass seed and feed you something lol OL  Hopefully, Tim will take it easy and get adjusted to the new meds that he is on until he gets an appointment for the Appalachian

Good rescue of the eaglets or Judy’s from the river. Hopefully they will be raised in a manner that will allow them to be released and know the ins and outs of eagle life. I am happy the raven took it irises egg, as I don’t think any good would have come from that with her, having to brewed and fine foods all at the same time Tangela was and then said she needs to get another one. I wonder what the issues are there and it’s possible fences come to bird flu who knows
Should be out tending to the lemon trees in the grass seed, but I have absolutely no energy today besides that it’s kind of hot. Maybe I will go out a little later and take the mats and get something done.
Polly I enjoyed your post.  i said  .paulie, She typed Pplly!  Hope the cabin did not suffer any damage and that you can get that water redirected somehow. I cannot imagine having all those birds we had a couple of blue colored parakeets ones who laid an egg and hatch the baby my mother gave to my grandmother. They got out of the cage once when I was home alone, and they scared me to death flying around somehow they got back in the cage and I shut the door but I can’t remember how that was accomplished. I have also had wild birds in the house at one time but just opened all the doors and they flew out. Somehow they knew they shouldn’t be where they were.  Also, I had a couple of squirrels in the house once, which also departed with all open doors as well. They Dropped in through the chimney and the fireplace and I left them there overnight and in the morning got up, left my dogs in the bedroom and then opened all the doors and then open the doors to the fireplace and he’s all black city babies came flying out and into the outside they were in the fireplace long enough to know where the open door was going to be and they went straight for the dogs later sniffed all over the house where those squirrels have been looking for that I’m sure that they were still there. Oh my life in the wild..
Lisa, I loved your colorful picture yesterday with the bright, blues and purples today but everybody posted were quite attractive as well. Hope all stays well and I’ll see you later.

Busy time of year for homeowners right!.....

I dropped fertilizer this morning, front and back. This kind doesn't need to be watered in, but it is going to rain tomorrow.

Returned to UPS the 3 heavy boxes to a UPS certified place down the street. Not far away, but getting them in and out of the car was "something".....Whew, it's done at least.

Other errands today as well. Trees are just starting to leaf out around town I noticed. Green is sure a pretty color in nature!

A white bellied go-away bird!

Next up project soon: turning a fixed fence in back yard to a gate so Andrew can drop soil on eroded gardens, more rock and mulch. Going to have the Jeep detailed and the decks stained also in May. Whew

No bounce

I'm tuckered. Medium pool workout and mowed the 3/4 of the front that is growing. It is a mess out there... Bunny poops and deer ruminations and pine cones, etc. Sigh.

Rest now and hydrate and watch some tennis and hopefully watch da Wolves win tonight.

Hugz n healing to all
