Howdy Bakers!  ;) ;D
I've never been to Alaska - love that Sitka airport view!

I used to land a single-engine plane on this runway at Lake Norman, NC (not too far from Charlotte), on a finger of a large lake, that had many fingers! - after the runway had been paved and lengthened to 3000' X 40', in the late '80s. It wasn't easy to locate! but an exciting landing and takeoff, every time!  :D

Cool beans baziunc.   8)
I remember you saying you have/had your pilots license ?
When was the last time you were current ?
Cessna high wing ?

I know I'd fly with you as you seem very well grounded, even keeled, calm and prepared.   :)

CLYNN   I think we should be given an award - all those who started off in the Lounge - I think that was it.  Didn't LANI start the Beak?   What a fun time those Amsterdam garden artists must have.  Why do I think a prank would be in the making putting some yellow colored bulbs in with the reds  LOLOL    No scenic pullover on that road at Moki Dugway  :o :o

KB   Isn't Michael Winslow something else  ;D   I think the tornado warning is over but I think most of anything was south of us once again.  We've had maybe 3 or 4 short downpours since mid afternoon.  More is coming they say overnight.

BL  By the sounds of it you don't want to have a dry socket  :o :o :'(   That temp change map - what date and year???  Are those wind chills?  Cool tornado map.  Another downpour going on now.   I'd feel perfectly safe with Bazi as well.  :) :)

BAZI   And cute ole Tom was sweating on Ed's show too. LOL  Yes he was quite the heart throb.  Definitely a lot of fingers at lake Norman but a similar short landing strip to Sitka
Chicagoland

tsk and I made it through the latest weather.  We're both just north of all the serious stuff. Horrid winds that are suppose to cdontinue through tomorrow, and then flakes.

Reminder - planes and water craft only was to travel.  Road, what's a road.  (Unfinished bumps)

Ah yes, Tom Jones.  A definite fav.......Loved his crooning, had some enticing (?) moves, lots of sweat. Saw him a few times.  Still makes me smile.

Another road I 've missed - Moki Dugway in Utah.

Trying to remember, tsk.  Alice was working/volunteering up north with birds.  Do you remember where?

some bounce

I like my doctor. She reassured me I don't have a fracture but I do have some irritated spots for sure. She recommended p.t. so I will start at my clinic (which is close by) for issues related to the fall and then switch to the Ortho clinic for the knee p.t.
My surgery date is at the end of September. My health insurance says I can go to p.t. as many times as I want. But I have a $15 per time copay.
I was having a new little shooting pain this afternoon. I'm wrapped up in my blankies and staying still. Doctor agreed that being reassured will help my brain heal my body

Bl,  your post extraction instructions are just like a doctor gave me giver take a few words, and I’m trying to follow them for the first time, although I have followed most of them before except I smoked at one time and smoked as soon as I got in the car and grabbed a hot cup of coffee and never got a dry socket. Knock on wood. I hope I don’t get one. No I have never heard that anyone was happy having a dry socket.
As tsk suggested, the bleeding has stopped, and I think basically things are good, but I’ll find out tomorrow when I pick up the PARTIAL. My typing lady how to spell that as in Marshall with a P so now it’s in all caps!
Clynn, I believe your Amsterdam tulip garden is needlework either that or a one, but it looks like some form of needlework. I’m not sure what kind very intricate however and I think attractive a pretty big piece and I don’t know what you do with it, except hanging on the  It has been a long day, so piper and I are going to say SEDS.

Today 03/19/2025.

The prior 24 hour mercury thermometer temperature change in degrees Fahrenheit from the time of my post.

No wind chill.

Ambient air temperature as it were I guess.

We're just swimmingly here in a spring eve.

Amsterdam, Netherlands, tulips!

According to Google this is an aerial view of Keukenhof Park, also known as the Garden of Europe, it is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in the municipality of Lisse, in the Netherlands.  Covers an area of 32 hectares and approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the gardens annually.  Good reviews overall, but many complaints about high prices for food.

My most favorite type of a landing soft has always been by a float plane.

Set you down like a lake at sunrise.

Good Morning Beakers! It's Spring!

Lani, you have a wonderful memory! Now I recall the reason the Lounge split, Homedi vs a couple of the early Mods!  And then there was Iceline, the wonderful photographer who used to sit at the Decorah Fish Hatchery and take pictures! Quite some times back then between The Beak room and Cheers...  ::) Seems like decades ago... Happy to hear that Mike is feeling better!

BL, we got tiny hail for about 15 minutes yesterday morning, high winds and a few flurries, nothing on the ground after the hail quickly melted!

oldguy, thanks for the additional information on the tulip fields!

karen, how is your 'hole where the tooth was' doing?

tsk, that tulip picture makes one wonder, they must have a machine that plants the bulbs if there are 7 million every year! How do they know the color? That would be a prank, to mix a few renegades in, I bet they would spot it and rush to replace it!

baz, love the picture of the little airfield you used! I picture you like Amelia Earhart!

I remember the swooning over Tom Jones, he was considered a hunk! Loved his songs, his voice was just so...I don't know what, but we loved it

Song: Spring

By William Shakespeare
   (from Love's Labours Lost)

When daisies pied and violets blue
   And lady-smocks all silver-white
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
                         Cuckoo;
Cuckoo, cuckoo: Oh word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!

When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are plowmen’s clocks,
When turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
                         Cuckoo;
Cuckoo, cuckoo: Oh word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!
