KB    I also watched NASA on line.  Fox news picked it up at the first visual sighting and then I watched on the big screen TV

PHYL    What an experience that was to land on that Sitka runway   :o :o    Was Jim ever nervous about it?

LANI    Good night pals cozying up to the fireplace.  ;D

KAREN   You sure are up early after an early AM yesterday  ;D

CLYNN  I remember Thyla    There was also an early poster who live in a suburb NW of me and I'm forgetting her name.  Meigs was the airfield along the Lake that Mayor Daley at the time had bulldozed down in the dead of the night much to the chagrin of
most of the City   ::)   Now I believe it is a much under utilized park.. Maybe PUFF knows more.  Rosie is one cute puppy!
" Ritz of Sticks"  LOLOL

Haven't heard from EZEE   and wonder what happened to PEEPSPY

Could be some rough weather this PM

The forum here is still definitely acting a little wonky.

Very slow to load any thread .. bouncing ball or spinning wheel.

( I cleared all of my cookies & cache and rebooted my computer with no "fixing" effect ).

All my other web sites are acting normal on my machine.

Not sure whats up ?    :-\

I've landed at the Sitka Airport many moons ago.

I must say it is a bit intimidating on approach as a passenger.   :o

Home from the dentist about an hour ago tooth gone in many impressions taken. I go back tomorrow afternoon and pick up my partial.
No pain involved except for three little pinpricks at one point, but my mouth is still dead and I still have some bleeding in one of those cotton things watered up in there when I came home, Piper was right behind me until I sat down and she jumped up and got right in my face. She was sniffing all around and kissing him and having a fit I don’t know what she smelled, but I guess she thought the cat was sticking out of my mouth was pretty funny. Anyway, she’s a nurse piper today. It was funny as one of the numbing  Drugs got me real shaky, and I had to drink a bottle of water while sitting in the chair. All good now except a little bleeding.

2011. What is an exciting and fun year in the form?  Anticipation, what was the happen, the whole process of the hatching and fledging, etc. what is new and really just a tremendous experience I would imagine it’s the same for anyone tuning into a nest for the first time, there is still a little magic in the air When the little babies poke out of the egg.
Forum Seems to be working OK for me today but I had problems in the last few days. Not sure if it’s the form or my machine.
Mickey tells me I can use the iPad as an alarm clock but she says she went back to sleep so no big deal about her calling me at 5 AM, Per her.   Tells me I can use the iPad As an alarm, I’ll check that out sometime but in the meantime, I’m going to buy some new clocks and a battery for my watch!

Good news tig
Thanks for the sloth report Lani.

Good Afternoon Beakers

I meant to post this earlier this morning, and time got away from me.  Better late, then never!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU, again for all the birthday wishes.  You all made my day.

Lani - Thanks for the Royal update, very interesting about the irrigation.  Sorry about your internet, but thanks for the TRR update.

tig - Hope all went well at the appointments for you and Camper. Hope all if ok with your x-rays.

baz - That cheese cake...YUM!   I was having a lil wonky thing happen all week when I opened the forum, I was getting a Norton threat from a certain site.  I reported it to Amy, so I wonder if she was trying to fix that?

clynn - I did have a good birthday, except for the visit to the H&R Block office.  That put a damper on my day.  We decided to go eat this weekend for my birthday.  Hope Bella is feeling better.  Talon is getting so big, can see the change in his look.

karen - Hope all went well with the tooth pulling this morning.  ((hugs))  Oops, I see it did!

tsk - I loved the parachutes too, so pretty!

Lani - I would have loved that dessert from oldguy.   ;D

Phyl - Love the Good Morning Wednesday pic.  Thanks for the links.

PHYL   I would have a hard time picking a favorite in those 21 bird videos.  Amazing photography  In the Tom Hanks " Americas" series Sunday night they did " The Gulf Coast".  Included in that were the burrowing owls of Marco Island.  Barb and Tom see them when they take a drive down to Marco.

PUFF   Yes, that was Alice Witt.  So you still hear from her?  Is she in Arlington Heights?   Yes, Northerly Island - What a waste.

BL   As I type  just a bit of drizzling.

TIG  Keep us posted.

LANI   Delilah  LOLOL

KAREN   Your dental work gets done fast!  Bleeding should stop soon - Maybe no tea in the meantime  LOL

I've not experienced any problems on the Forum so far.  ;) ;)

tsk, I remember Alice Witt! She was in the forum back in 2011 when all the new eagle nest watchers joined in! The quiet forum turned into a monster for those original people! Was it called the Decorah Lounge back then? I can't quite remember! I know it was eventually split into Cheers and the Beak Room. Most of the mods were in Cheers. They are all gone now. But we are still here!

Lisa, love your pink Good Morning! Where will you be dining this weekend for your Birthday?  Ed always picks Outback, I like Applebee's. I like Outback too, we usually go there for our Anniversary.  The last two anniversaries we have eaten there. We order the Bloomin' Onion and share a dinner, with Filet Mignon and Grilled shrimp, he gets fries and I get a salad. It's perfect, but I wish the Bloomin' Onion had a small version. Well, there's that tangent I went off on ... :o

Lani, the sloth babies are active this morning! In slow motion, I am sure!

karen, Piper was worried about you! Glad that's over, right?  I can remember Mom getting a tooth pulled when we lived in England, she had something called a dry socket. She put a wet tea bag on it, something about the tannins in tea.

Phyl, the bird video was excellent! Thank you for sharing! Like tsk, I would have a hard time choosing one! Great morning pics, love the Hollyhocks!

Amsterdam, Netherlands, tulips!

Use the post extraction instructions that the dentist sent home with you and follow them to the letter.

I had Dry Socket once after a wisdom tooth extraction and you really don't want anything to do with it. Trust me.
Big time pain, as in make a grown man cry.

Howdy Bakers!  ;) ;D

I watched the parachute drop and splashdown yesterday on TV - watched on a few different channels, and then picked out the one that had the commentators I liked the best, LOL. Egress is definitely not a new word for me, but good law... could they have said it 500 more times?!? And I LOVED seeing the dolphin pod welcoming committee!!  :-* :-*  I kept yelling at the people in the boats, who were there to collect parachutes and get to the module for tasks. I was yelling at them to slow down! Don't hit any of the dolphins!!  I was so nervous they might get on a collision course. I watched till all 4 astronauts were safely out of the module, and wheeled off. Loved seeing everyone. I have watched one of these before, so I knew the process. Still, it's fun to watch, and always nice to see everyone looking good, and happy to be back home on Earth. I hope they get to hug their families before too long, and hope all will have a successful rehab back to their pre-space living/activity levels, with no serious unexpected health issues.

Clynn, what a cute pic of Bella and little Rosie. I hope Bella is feeling much better and has more energy today. Rome and Rosie sure are cuties.

Lani, that's a lot of cute sloths "hanging around!"  ;) :D  I saw Tom Jones sing this in person - underpants thrown and all, LOL... not mine! LOL!  ;D :o  My older Mtns Sis and I went together and saw him - on a very hot and humid summer night in the South, at an outdoor concert setting, and we were pretty close to him! Do you remember how much he always sweated during his performances? Well, he was much older when we saw him, but he was still waaay sexy, and still sang great, and still sweated up a storm! Even more so, of course, in that setting. LOL. He sweated so much during that show, that, I kid you not, smoke was coming off of him! Steam!! For real! My sister and I were laughing so hard when we noticed it - rising up from his shoulders and top of his head into the stagelit night. That's HOT! (as Paris Hilton might say.) He was "hot" in every sense of the word.  It was a great concert, and he performed a very long set, with several encores. Always loved Tom Jones!!  :-* :-*
For Delilah the Sloth (but not with the same ending as in the song!) :-* :-*
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIIU9xkGAMs - Tom Jones - "Delilah" - from the Ed Sullivan Show, April 21, 1968 - almost 57 years ago, but seems like yesterday in some ways.  :o 8)  ;)

Lisa, did you have a birthday movie night?

((Karen))

I've never been to Alaska - love that Sitka airport view! I used to land a single-engine plane on this runway at Lake Norman, NC (not too far from Charlotte), on a finger of a large lake, that had many fingers! - after the runway had been paved and lengthened to 3000' X 40', in the late '80s. It wasn't easy to locate! but an exciting landing and takeoff, every time!  :D

The view from above, approaching the lake... okay, there's a landing strip on one of those fingers... but there's a lot of fingers! LOL!

I've got the hongries! Gotta run...

Have a great evening, Beakers! Watch out for any severe weather, coming to some areas this evening.

It's not bedtime yet, by a long shot, but...
:)
