Good afternoon! Paper says it’s boring. Mickey has gone home and spent 12 hours in the Atlanta airport due to storms and a tornado south of Atlanta and they help was here yesterday and comes back tomorrow so it’s just paper and mama sitting here trying to get life back in Groove..
Mickey worked like a slave while she was here and I don’t know that I would ever have gotten things done as quickly without her. The yard is not in good shape yet but it’s getting there as grass is coming up in the back and where it isn’t theirs seed still Wagner, so I’m having to water and it’s not good because I’m putting probably too much water on the grass. It’s up and not enough water on the seeds in the ground. Oh well we’ll see what happens. She pulled a ton of roots out of the ground where the grass seed was not taking and I am Sure what they were roots of but she pull sheet raking for rake and pool raking pool My garbage can was overflowing by the time I got it out for pick up this morning. I think this Stafford works on that truck. We’re probably surprised.
She planted eight bushes and four Mexican petunias and three zinnias, and some kind of a thing ground cover. I think that I had in pots..  This is 90+ degree heat
She also fix the vacuum cleaner, cleaned out the clogs and put new filters in repaired the latch on the gate repaired the latch on the screen door to the porch, fixed a towel, rack, freestanding, kind and fixed a light switch in my bathroom. She also transferred my information from the old iPad, which I’m still using to the new one which as with this computer will take some getting used  There’s probably more, but I can’t think of it right now. She also took me to the doctor walk inside where I was diagnosed with a UTI and I started antibiotics for that, and after she left, HeLth took me back because I was coughing and was diagnosed again with a URI on another round of different antibiotics and some of the nastiest tasting cough syrup in the world but then I’ve never had any in my life that tasted real good. It has me drained as at night I kind of Run a low-grade fever and get the chills . Two new bushes delivered today. They are sitting outside the garage and I’m going to have to take them in or at least try to get them out of the boxes. There are two more sitting in the yard waiting for the yard. People look down with a tree and then I can decide where to put those at some point the yard will be presentable but it’s not there yet. The lady and Backe finally got the fence replaced so that’s part of it done and her pine trees are gone so the sun is pouring out here in the morning like crazy I don’t know if I like that or if I’m going to put another couple of trees in the middle of the yard. I’m kind of enjoying the space.
Clynn, The picture of Talon, and Bella should be put on some canvas and hung in the living room. That is a super picture. Have enjoyed everyone’s posts and liked the green in this morning supposed by Phyl.
Lani I am happy to see Iris with an NG and hope she doesn’t chase him out. He seems to be catering to all her whims.
Oh, I forgot while Mickey was out working early one morning she heard what sounded like a young animal, screaming in pain and found a squirrel sitting in the top of the large magnolia in the backyard and as soon as it stopped, another squirrel running up there and they mated.  Tru call of the wild
Going to take Piper out for a few minutes and then back to microwave some thing for dinner. Maybe be back later oh  Baz,  Sorry about your knee. I’m glad to hear that Tsk bandTim I doing better.

Phyl - Agree, fresh fruit..deeeeelish!  Pretty morning greeting.

tsk - My endo wanted me to eat more protein at breakfast, as I was a cereal and banana everyday person.  She said, the cereal is empty carbs, so I switched to 2 mini Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits and a banana in the morning.  She asked me to stop the banana and switch to strawberries, as they are better for your blood sugar than the banana.

clynn - Jeff was just talking about that pic of the volcano...WOW!  I found a pinterest hack that seems to really work with the strawberries to keep them from going bad.  Don't wash your berries, or cut the tops off till ready to use, put them in a Ball jar with the seal lid, and they will last for up to two weeks.  They really do!

kb - I am looking at your pic of the Crimson King and I believe my maple tree in my front yard may be the same thing.  I never ever knew what kind it was.  Does your leaves turn brown and fall off completely when fall arrives?

Lani - Sounds like you are I are having the same issues.  Thanks for the update on Iris and NG!

oldguy - YAY on posting an image!

karen - I hope you start to feel better soon, and glad the help took you to the docs yesterday.  Sounds like Mickey was a big help to you.

Good night, everyone  :)

LANI   We can only hope that NG will remember this nest and return for Iris next year.  Good visit with PCP.  Will see dermatologist tomorrow AM for a movable nodule on in right neck that is tender..  Always something. We got an order to resume the PT he had started back in April but stopped cuz of the A-fib.  That will start the middle of June.   Great video on Oatman!!!  Loved little Alice the wild burro.

OLDGUY   Roy Clark and Buck Trent  ;D

KAREN   Gosh, Mickey had terrible weather and delays coming and going.  Bet she is glad to be home.    Boy, did Mickey cover a lot of ground.  Such a blessing for her to come and visit and help out so much.   And you end up with a UTI and URI at the same time.  In about 10 days or so you will feel brand new!!

LISA  All good advice.  The cereal I prepare for Tim and I is a mix of Total,  Fiber One  - not the flakes  and some protein Cheerios.  I top that with 1-2 cut up strawberry, some cut up peach or blueberries .  He loves it.  Occasionally I make oatmeal or grits.  On the weekends some eggs and bacon or sausage.

BTW   I can again search with Google lens  YAY

Lisa - yes, but at this latitude they fall off very late, often after snow has fallen.
the leaves in the summer look purple. You should take a picture of yours for comparison for me.

this is it:
https://www.monrovia.com/crimson-king-norway-maple.html
Acer Platanoides....

The pic above is not really comparable although it says the leaves are purple....my leaves are dark purple. The picture doesn't capture the color that well, unless it's fall in the pic when they turn sort of orangey brown, almost gold.

Just a reminder - There is a red maple and there's a crimson king maple.  Purple-ish red is the crimson.

Good Morning Beakers!

The Munchkins will be here at 8:00!

Lani, thanks for the update and love the video of Iris and NG! I do hope he and Iris bond so well that he will be back next year. Finn was such a sweetie, it saddens me to think that something happened to him... And WOW on the 3 fish heads, so sweet of him to bring her the bet part! When he returns next year hopefully he will get a decent name...  ;D  Thanks for posting the video of Route 66 to Oatman, so very interesting and what a beautiful but scary drive!

kb, is that a picture of your tree? Beautiful!

tsk, you are right, always something... So you are a Wordler, both of my sisters play that! BTW, there are YouTube videos that show how to make the items on the task bar larger!  The first one I looked at, the Indian accent was so thick I couldn't understand him, this one has a nice British accent but there are several more if needed!   https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=how+to+make+icons+in+task+bar+larger+windows+11&&mid=739EFBBAD8743E3EE6F7739EFBBAD8743E3EE6F7&FORM=VAMGZC

Lisa, thanks for the tip on the strawberries! One question, do you keep them in the fridge then? I would think so, but then again, they aren't refrigerated when you buy them.  I have 2 eggs and two pieces of the Sara Lee Delightful bread toast for breakfast every other morning, then high protein yogurt and fruit of some kind on the other mornings.

karen, wow, Micky got a lot done while she was there! I hate that she had such a terrible time at the airport both times, it seems to be becoming a norm. Sorry you had to have your health problems while she was there! Sis Micky and Piper become fast friends?  I bet they did!

oldguy, wow, Maru is a senior guy! Glad you can post pictures now, it seems like the forum is getting back to normal...

LANI   What a cute snoozing trio last night  ;D

CLYNN    A B&W morning today  :)   Thanks for that link. I've been using youtube a lot  LOL.   I will continue to fix daily the things that aren't quite like I want them and that was on my list.  At least I now have Wordle working.  I play daily with my Green Bay bro, his son and wife, his dtr and husband.  I try to do a lot of games to keep my brain going.  My Mom had Alzheimers and as a matter of fact I'm so worried about inheriting it that a free Tpau Alzheimers blood test ( a protein in the blood associated with the disease) is being offered tomorrow about 3 minutes from me so am going to do it.   I've inherited so much from my Mom - her osteoporosis, macular degeneration, high cholesterol,  hot flashes til death  LOL.    WOW  I did not hear about the glacier collapse.  Good to hear they were proactive with the evacuation.
Have fun today with the kids  :D

Bounce!

We received the final approval for the love seat replacement from the warranty folks! We just need to make arrangements with Ashley for delivery/payment.

And we just heard from our cabin friends at the lake. They understand and are glad we reserved a place across the bay. They look forward to getting together at some point and she said he would still be willing to deliver extra fish to me!  :o

I'm off to P.T. today...

Clynn and Phyl: no that's a google tree.
My tree, or the bottom few leaves of it are in a picture I posted yesterday. My leaves are dark purple till late fall when they turn gold.

Lost a post last night, so will repeat part of it now last Sunday Mickey and I were on the patio Admiring the planting she had done when we looked up and saw paragliders floating over the fire end of the subdivision what a joyous thing that look like and how pleasant where are younger I think that would be something I would be interested in doing!  They were up there for quite a while, several hours or more.
Temperatures are going to be in the 90s again today with rain expected this afternoon. Humidity was 89% this morning so it isn’t pleasant out there.
See Lynn, I believe that picture of Bella and Talon should be transferred to a canvas and hung in the house. It’s absolutely fabulous. I hope they have a good time today with grandma and grandpa.

I am happy the people  in charge in Switzerland were able to notify those people in that little village that was covered by tfe ice low in order to get out of there in time with your life stock! I read the government was going to assist and relocation and funding for a new place to live , such a beautiful place in the world I wonder what damage will be done now by the rivers that have been filled up with the sludge and debris,

I have been following your discussion of maple trees, and I have to say that the Crimson Naples is a beautiful tree and will probably present differently in different climate areas and growing conditions. My experience has been that the fall foliage looks different, depending on the amount of water heat and etc. the tree receives during the year it makes it difficult to see exactly what kind of tree you might be growing but there are a number of similarities such a shape, leaf shape, size and color that are pretty. Whatever the variety, they are very pretty trees.
Tsk, you are very lucky to have your mothers and your father‘s medical history available to you I do not so when things occur it’s always a question as to why or where did it come from? I have no idea what my biological background is so everything that occurs is sort of a surprise at any rate. I hope that you keep up with a macular degeneration as there are. Treatments now to delay Some of the devastating effects of the disease I wish they would find something to reverse the condition is not being able to drive. It’s one of the worst things I go through I love driving.  Lol!  Good luck on the check on the Nodule!

I have to do a little laundry, and perhaps BBL

Clynn, the drive to Oatman was originally part of R66 until they changed it. That would have be a long slow tedious drive, probably easier to go by mule  ;D ..... terribly sad about the village of Blatten, Switzerland. There are videos showing the glacier destroying the village.... I read it was mentioned in 1433, and started taking a census in 1700's... so sad :'( ... enjoy your day with the munchkins!  ;D

{{{Tsk}}} it's good you have your parent's medical history... I don't have either info available to me,  other than what they died of... my mother didn't believe in doctors, so that was that. You take such excellent care of you and Tim.  :-*

Phyl, beautiful nature video, I love the reflection of the area in the rain drop....

Tig, New love seat will soon be heading your way!  ;D ... what nice lake cabin friends you have, fish will be waiting.

{{{Karen}}} I hope you feel better today... you and Piper have a good day.  ;D
