From before dawn to 11:00 this morning, geese honking in the background.  Changeovers as expected for the Norths.  DNF spent a couple hours perched at the top of the pine trees.  No new grasses, no food at the nest so far today.

Did I miss anything exciting here yesterday?  This morning, things seem ordinary and quiet on the nest, with some geese honking in the background.

I don't think you missed anything, STL. Maybe others noticed something. Great close-ups of the beautiful eggs!

nanimal, you are so right about great closeups here!  We'll be able to count the feathers on the hatchlings and the scales on the fish they are eating.

Pics from this morning.

About 7:00, before morning changeover, MrN brought a fish to DNF.  She ate part of it then left and he took over.  He finished the fish about 9:00.  Some new grasses brought at changeovers.

Lots of swaying with the nest tree this morning! Here's today's forecast from The Weather Channel for Decorah: Mostly sunny skies. High 41F. Winds NNW at 20 to 30 mph. Higher wind gusts possible. Yikes!

It's the season of exreme weather especially high winds. The motion of the branches can make me kinda seasick.
Changeovers continue regardless of the weather.  The cattle are out if you look at the rewind around 10:30 and 11:00 but no pics.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to Everybirdy

Breezy & cold today but dry.  The nest looks ready for hatching with high rails, plenty of grasses, and a deep egg bowl.
Cam ops got great closeups of DNFs feathers from the bottom up, on the top side.  Beautiful in the early sunshine.

First day of Hatch Watch.  And an icy rainy storm since about 10:00 this morning.  Typical for the eagles.  The eggs look good, no pips visible.

I'm glad there's no pip yet with this wintery weather!

True. Better to have snow than heavy rain.

About 7:00, DNF called for changeover and cam ops got good view of the eggs when she left.  There's grass stuck to one eggshell but no pips visible.
I think this is the most snow of the whole winter.   :D

First pip seen today at 12:04 p.m.

Another view of the pip occurred at 1:17 p.m. and this time the egg on the left side was visibly moving but no pip was seen.
