I take it Jim is bring the Birthday Dinner home?🏡.
Or maybe company?  Let us know.
Congratulations to Great  Grandpa  Camper!    Itoo want tge .dodgers to win tonight but think it would be nice to win at home!  Too chancy.  Have a friend in Portland who would like to see it go 🥶7 games. As she loves watching baseball,  i lovingly tell her she is nuts!  She does want to see the  Dodgers win. .
I say, get it on!

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but you know I've got to root for the Yankees to pull off a Trick or Treat for regional reasons.    :)    ;)

It looks like IA is getting in on some much needed rain today/tonight.

Hopefully any severe weather stays at a minimum for all of you Hawkeyes.

Past 12 Hour radar loop:

It also looks like Clynn made a good call bugging out of Des Moines, IA on her road trip to Albion, IL this AM.    8)

Keep an eye and ear on the weather this eve however all in that neck of the woods ..

Our forecast high temp for here in northern NJ for 10/31/24 Halloween is 80° F  .. normal/average high is 60° F.

Has snowed on us ghosts, ghouls and goblins here on occasion more than once.  :)

In 2011 was a notable snow event for around here.

https://x.com/NWSNewYorkNY/status/1851268640387236229

Last picture. An average year around here taken on 10/31/2006 at our old place.
Bob the Cat with his notched ear was not wanting to have anything to do with indoor living.
Trust me Pip and I tried many times. We took him inside ONCE one wicked winter eve and he went absolutely nuclear on our 2 indoor cats and the house.

A well insulated outdoor Igloo was provided and we would often see Bob copacetic exit the winter abode early in the AM with his buddy Mr opossum.

We can only assume a symbiotic warmth.

The IHOP down the busy road down by the highway was his bacon, pancake and butter go to.

This little guy neighborhood roamer of 9 lives lived to be 21 years of age with more scars than I have.

Only old age took him.

He's buried with honor right next to all of all the other cats that have owned us.  :)

But I digress ..

10/29 to 10/31 2011 - Heavy wet snow on still leafed trees causes uprooting problems especially after 3 of he wettest months on record.   ::)

Good Evening/Morning Beakers

We have had rain most of the day - the morning was intermittent - the afternoon had some longer periods of rain, but not much heavy rain and this evening was mostly lighter rain with periods of bursts - An area 30 miles to the west got 4 inches - most of Iowa City metro got 1 to 2 inches.  Much needed and not a lot of run off - some of the small creeks rose less than a foot.

I see that LA won it in the 8th to win the series...

Mornin' all -  BOOOO

Well, tsk we did break the record yesterday.  Was 78 - new mark of 82.  But the wind was brutal.  No records in the near future - rain and wind for the trick-n-treaters.

There was an excellent piece last night on Nature  " Dracula's Hidden Kingdom!  All about Transylvania's fauna for lack of a better word.

TIG   Congrats to soon to be great grandpa Camper  ;D ;D ;D   Never ending projects with a home.  We signed a contract to have our cracked front step replaced as well as concrete pads for garbage cans - some patio repair etc.  This was Aug 7th..I called on Friday - Did you forget us?  Got back to me later - It passed his desk that our job had been finished and would get to the bottom of why that happened.   Couldn't apologize enough.  Think it will be done later next week.  He has a very good reputation in our town .

BL  That rain fizzled out over my backyard but did we get the wind all night!!   Love the colorful fall leaves in the snow.  Sweet Bob  Thanks for caring for him in his outdoor lifestyle.  Lived long for an outdoor cat.  :o

LORI   Great post this AM  :D

OLDGUY   Photos of washed out roads are something else.  I've always been amazed by beavers - the engineers of the waterways .
Monster Mash - cute

PUFF   That wind was something else last night!!

Remembering the Halloween passing of our dear WILLI  :-*
