Eagles doing their thing this morning, one perched near N1 I believe it's HD or HM.  Then flew to the fishing corner, later to perch toward the top of the bluffs.

The N1 geese are also doing their thing, and the six eggs seem OK.

At N2B, rewind shows the goose sitting on the eggs most of the night and into the morning. No pic.

Great pics, STL

MG at N2B laid her 5th egg last evening.  Did you see?  She is now incubating the 4, since 1st rolled off nest.

N1FG below N1 in creek. HM was perched above N1 this morning a young sub-adult flew in and perched under her.  The sub-adult stayed for only a few seconds, as the honks from the geese below scared it off.

At midnight we had 51 degrees and it didn't start dropping until later, so if she's not into full incubation they might be ok.

N2BMG stayed on the eggs overnight, so it appears that she is in "full incubation" mode.  She is sitting on 4 eggs, but laid 5 --  remembering the first egg that rolled off the nest.  Thanks to Lisa and BL for the accurate and up to date info!

I believe your statement above is correct STLbf.

But I'm now a little confused on the goose egg count @ N2B because of this post by RRP .. I think it's a typo ..   ;)

March 25, 2024: Egg #5https://youtu.be/aDRIV0wV27M?si=3epm0f3qwordOTM4. MG2 is beautifully bejeweled with rain as she lays her sixth egg at N2B (the first one missed her scrape and fell out of the tree). She might lay another – we’ll see tomorrow or Thursday! Either way, she’s in full incubation now. Male geese protect the nest but do not share in incubation duties, which means she’ll get very few chances to eat until her eggs hatch and the goslings jump. She will lose roughly 25-30% of her body weight during incubation.

Here's a pic from early this AM 03/27/24 of MG @ N2B rolling her eggs .. I'm pretty sure I count 4 eggs.   ;D

Thank you for the confirmation Lisa.  :)

I thought I was loosing track of the goose egg count at the 2 nests.   :-[   ::)

So as of 03/27/2024 the egg count stands at:

N2BMG is incubating 4 eggs. Decorah Goose Cam.

N1MG  is incubating 6 eggs.  Decorah Eagle Cam.

About 10:45 this morning, a Great Blue Heron was among the geese at the Retention Pond.  Not for long, as the geese chased it away.

At N2B, the MG covered her 4 eggs before leaving for a few minutes about 8:30 this morning.  She was gone only a few minutes and returned to sit patiently like a good mother goose.   ;)

At N1, an eagle perched for a short time above N1, geese not too perturbed.  Which eagle?  Shortly after it flew away, N1MG covered her 6 eggs while N1FG kept watch, then they left the nest.  N1MG returned quickly to incubate the eggs.  Two anterless deer were feeding at the creek below N1 about the same time.
