Rainy at DNN all morning.  Early breakfish for all.

Nest OK, eagles OK after storms yesterday.  MrN brought two large fish, at about 6:00 and 7:00 this morning.  I believe DN18 claimed the second fish, then didn't quite know what to do with it, so MrN took it back and fed it to the eaglets.   DNF visited the nest briefly about 9:15.  Cattle are in the pasture and grackles are picking at nest materials.  It's a good day.

After several days of several fish for breakfast, today the eaglets have not been fed at all and it's time for lunch!  About 6:00, DNF brought a large stick that they jumped on as if a long, skinny fish, but no.

DN18 revealed white primary wing feathers when stretching.  Good for ID, but DN17 may also have them.

Love that spread wings pose, STL! Thanks! :D

Nanimal, white wing feathers can also help us identify the eaglets, like white patterns in tail feathers.  Cam ops got a closeup of DN17 with wings outstretched just after 11 AM, but looks to me like there are white primaries in same location as for DN18.  For now, look for the tail patterns.

More rain at the North's valley today.  At least one fish from DNF to share for early breakfast.

SRL, I appreciate the tips!

MrN brought two fish to the eaglets around noon.  He stayed to feed them, too.

Of course, I meant "STL" above.  ;)
One is working on a fish, the other is surveying the area. Looks like a beautiful day for the Norths.

Rain, rain, rain. Also kinda chilly today at the DNN nest.  Fresh fish on the menu twice; DN17 got both of them.  Looks like deer carcass leftovers from yesterday available for picking at.  Despite the wet, DN18 has been exercising those huge wings.  Maybe less likely to launch by mistake when it's wet and not windy.

Clear weather returned to the North's valley today.  Eaglets spent time preening to get ready for the day, and a deer closeup chewing its cud.  MrN brought something edible and stringy to the nest about 7 AM.

About 1:00 this afternoon, DNF brought a duckling and left it for the eaglets to consume on their own.  Closeups if you are interested, go to the rewind.
Guess she ran out of hawklets.   ::)    Expect baby raccoons soon, and fawn pieces.

Well-fed eaglets this morning.  A fish at 6:00, a deer leg at 5:30, and another fish at noon.  DN18 is pouncing hard and doesn't want help with the items. All part of learning how.

About fledging for DN17 and DN18, doesn't seem possible we should be talking about fledging yet!  But in 2022, DN15 hatched on March 26 and fledged on June 11.  And DN16 hatched on March 27 and fledged on June 13.  Those hatch dates are only 2 days later than this year's eaglets.  And the black flies were not an issue in 2022.  Seems to me that they are worse this year but not terrible yet.  Keep watching.   :D
