7 am  Flash arrives and Lady followed
Flash went inside box, Lady perched on green facing him, then moved to perch - then flew off.
She is not banded.
So today they were BOTH there at the same time.  Progress.

Illinois Raptor Center posted on BCAW Facebook that they have a new patient, a Racine fledgling from 2022! Her name is Betty, and her band is black over Blue R 62 .

7 am  Flash flew into box with prey,
she flew in hot on his tail - grabbed prey and left.
He peeks out as if wondering what happened.   

Unfortunately the cam hides half the box so I have to use my imagination.

7 am  Flash flew into box with prey,
she flew kind of an odd circle, landed, ducked into box, grabbed prey and left.
He peeks out as if wondering what happened.   

ALMOST exactly the same routine as yesterday.  Flash still had a wing feather stuck on his talon.  I am NOT sure this is a female from previous years.  The behaviors are different.

GOOD!  They finally changed the cam angle so we see the whole box.

4 pm
Blue banded femaile falcon is back and she's NOT happy!
Flash tried and tried to get her inside box - suddenly she's there - angry

P12  FIGHT
Feb 16, 2023   snow, 30 degrees
6 am  Yesterday's female came, perched, apparantly guarding from - likely another female offcam -
went inside - left

I think its the banded one.  Flash has courted 2 females for several years  ( at least 2 )
6.45 am  THE 2 GIRLS ARE FIGHTING!
Is P12 a juvie?

7 am  Lady musta run off the juvie P12
Both she and Flash did a 2 second bow dance inside box, then she left

Blue band P 12 -  black over blue

11 am Flash showed up - alone - poor baby

2 pm  Lady noband showed up

Flash couldnt get her inside til he got some prey, then she flew in, grabbed prey - and left.

noon - Female is chowing down on the green.
Flash tries to get her inside with him daily.
No DVR here so if he succeeds I miss it

4.30 am  She is perched on bar outside the green - looks like she spent the night.  Yesterday before dawn she was there perched on the green. She stayed around a long time.  Flash came n went - as alway - lol
