Midwest nice!   Lolol!   Love the eagle and the piano sculpture!

Phyl, thanks for the nest news/views!

Piper got me up at 5 am!   Took her out and I came back in and checked the weather,  humidity a whopping 93 percent!   Slight chance of rain around noon?     Temps similar to tsk.  Perhaps a tad higher and no cooldown in sight.

Good Morning Beakers

tsk - I don't know the baby's name.  They are keeping a secret, even from me.  ::)

Phyl - Love that eagle carving!  I hope you got to grill your burgers.  We had a quick rain after noon, and Jeff went out to grill our country ribs.  I made some potato salad.  Lizzie's new name is Ziva.

baz - Kelly has been feeling good, but it's getting to where she is finding it uncomfortable to sleep.  Yea, the baby name is a secret.  I don't get what the big deal is...  ::)

Lani - Like the meaning of Ziva, thanks for looking it up. Beautiful good night pic.

clynn - LOL, you got that right on the kitties!  I wish I knew baby's name to spill it  ;D  Wow, that is some piano!

karen - Ut oh, did you tell Piper it was too early?  ;D

Ugg...I need 20 feet of my sewer line replaced...waiting on calls/ etc..throughout the day. Had a routine maintenance clean out scheduled earlier and the guy caught the broken tile and cracking ....

Till replaced no tp down the toilets arg...otherwise water usage is fine.

will also need to tear up scott's concrete floor in his shop as pipe is under it and also some of my concrete stairs heading back up the hill on the way to the street..

They will replace the concrete but it sounds like a pretty big job and a mess...

My neighbor's returned today....

My peacetime is over!...

Seal Island Puffins - Before the cams went down, you all might have had a chance to observe the puffin party/palooza/prom on the Boulder Berm feed. Puffins actually prefer to feed and forage in this overcast weather, as they expend less energy in cooler climes. I myself went on a puffin watching cruise just yesterday (which, if you're ever in Maine, I highly recommend doing! There are Audubon naturalists on-board to guide guests through the sightseeing experience. You can find out more info here: https://www.boothbayboattri... and was delighted to see TONS of puffins! (And black guillemots, and storm petrels, and cormorants, and a murre, and...well, you get the idea).

Duryea, as many of you know, suffered a pretty scary attack last week when a presumed juvenile puffin discovered the burrow and laid into little Dur. This is common behavior in adult seabirds- they often go after chicks that aren't their own, for unknown reasons. (Chickens do this, too, by the way.)
Rest assured, Duryea was swiftly rescued by Willie or Millie. But in the ensuing brawl, the camera was shifted. It will be re-positioned once the colony dries up enough for the researchers to make their way out there.

Send some sun our way!
-Celeste <3

KAREN   Is that progress that Piper woke you at 5 AM to go out???  YAY

KB  A house is just one problem after another.  I remember 1 home we had also had cracked line from house to street - Of course not covered by city cuz on private property.

LANI  thanks for Celeste's Puffing report  Poor little Duryea - how scary that must have been.  Happy ending.    LOVED splish splash   ;D ;D  what fun.

A couple small thundershowers quickly went through  Probably not more than 1/4" - will need to check.

tsk -- I've paid for insurance to cover my main line to the street for years, other than my deductible.
Prayers the claims rep. doesn't try to finagle out of it somehow.
Guy who was supposed to call today to set up an appt for an estimate has not yet.

My city has known since the early 50's they erroneously placed lines with a dip/pool/J out the first 15 feet from the drain in the basement but will never acknowledge it..3 different companies have told me so. Hence, I have paid for maintenance on it (auger it) for 2 decades....this time it's finally cracked just outside the dip.
ceramic tile...was going to go eventually.

It will be a big mess though as so much outside concrete will need to be broken and repaired. Can't imagine not being able to flush for more than a day, frankly.

some bounce

KB - well, isn't that the sh _ _ _ ?! Glad U have insurance

Another 25 ounces or so of berries today. And I did some more weeding where we removed the garlic chive plants. I found some very long roots! I need to be careful tho', as there are tulip bulbs nearby.

I haz a sad. Camper took my bicycle to be donated today. I've not been able to ride for several years but it still hurt to see it go. He said an older lady was eyeing it. I hope it goes to a good home. We donated to a non-profit youth employment program... and even my old helmet may be sent to Africa for donation.

At least the weather was ok today. Still too warm for me, but...

kb - Oh, that does sound like a messy job.  I hope they put your yard and everything back as it was before.

Lani - Thanks for the puffin update, poor Duryea! Mille & Willie to the rescue!

tsk - Looks like you are going to get some more rain this evening.

tig - Sorry about your bike.  Wow, more berries!  Do you usually get this many each year?

KB   You are very lucky to have insurance.  It happened with our first home so didn't know about things like that.

TIG  You did the right thing with your bike/helmet.  Someone will bring new life to your bike.  Got rid of my bike when I fell off of it on a short ride in the 90's- sigh

LISA  It is black as night here, Thunder and lightening now.  Looks like we'll get hit broadside  LOL  I like to count from the lightening to when I hear thunder - about 8 miles away now  :o

Looks like I'm going to win the race this time tsk.

You still have a lot, too, though.  It might all come to who has the rain the longest.

But I did think of a big possible problem - imagine the troubles now/again at the planes coming back.  Not pretty.

An 'Internet apocalypse' could ride to Earth with the next solar storm, new research warns

The underwater cables that connect nations could go offline for months, the study warns.
