Oh, right, Ginger, it was pigeons that nested in the basement.  So maybe this year it will be doves.  Sparrows nest there also sometimes.

At 5:00 the Norths on the nest with new grasses brought by MrN. Looks like an inviting place to lay eggs, just sayin'.

STL -- They also mated twice yesterday -- once in the morning on the Love Tree and once in the evening on the left-side perch branch.

Hi there to all the Northies!  Just popping in for a second.  If that's you STLbf often at cam, you're awesome! THANK YOU SO MUCH for treating us to the MANY additional wildlife interests surrounding the North Nest.  Have had little time to chat or add a note to the Forum, but I'm watching EVERY day - even chatting with excitement at all the wonderful nature being found, although to myself, and my dog ;-) On that note, the coyote this morning was fun to see.  Watching the Kingfisher's is AMAZING and so unique.  How fortunate to come across that nesting site!  Still hoping the North's will continue to hang around their home base. Looks beautiful!  We're covered in large amount of snow in Twin Cities, apparently with more wet and heavy depths to come (lost a newer awning to snow yesterday).  Hope nobody is encountering thunderstorms and tornados where you live.  Hugs and Hellos to all and an egg-citing watch at N1.

Phyl, yes really beautiful sunrise at DNN.
Ginger, good news about the mating actions!  DNF and MrN spent the night in the Love Branches.
MNLinda, I'm a watcher here who posts lots of pics, but not a cam operator. The cam ops find so many interesting creatures for us to observe when the eagles are elsewhere -- Thanks a million!

Early morning, deer, geese, coyote doing their thing.  Kingfisher at nest hole in the creek bank, too, but no pic.

Kingfishers are at their nest hole in the bank of the creek at 5:00 this afternoon.
Shortly before, MrN and DNF landed at the same time at their nest.

Thanks for clarification STLbf.  Wonderful photos that you post!  And THANKS SO MUCH to any cam ops who are able to take the time to do some exploring for all of us to enjoy  :D

Early morning nest work by the Norths.
Visitors: starlings then red squirrel for brunch on the equipment supports.

Evening, DNF perched and preened and called from a branchy tree below the nest and toward the pasture, see the distance pic.  Looks like they are going to spend the night in the Scary Tree.

Dawn at DNN. MrN and DNF flew to the nest together (no pic but see rewind just before color cam turns on).  I believe MrN brought the large fish for DNF, which she ate, gulp, gulp.   Shortly after, they mated on a Perching branch.

MrN brought a large rail stick about 8:00, then a big load of long grasses at about 10:00.

Red-winged blackbirds near the big logs under the nest 9:00 or so.  The male and female look totally different, and the cam ops got great closeups.  Females look more like sparrows, only bigger like the male RWB.

From 7:00 this morning, the Norths are in nestorations mode.  It's looking ready for eggs to me!

At 8:00, MrN appeared with a huge rail stick and perched below the nest to catch his breath.  Then he flew over the pasture to gain height for landing it on the nest.  DNF grabbed it and they both moved it to the edge.  You could build a log cabin with sticks like this one. Whew.  Great to watch on the rewind.

MrN had afternoon tea on the nest, alone.
