Okay...getting caught up. And, this one wasn't easy to get.
Today was nice and the BBs were out.

We have, here, Mom and CR 48 and 50.
Theses four fledglings mark the end of the nesting season .
I'm not gonna try to catch the BBs doing  much or such  this brood is too difficult to photograph. Besides,   it won't be long until two weeks in the forest for "flight training/school.' Then these guys and gals will be on their own.

Not at all  sure if Mom and Dad will shoot for another nest here. Eveything is topsy-turvy with the construction going on  a few 'blocks' away.
Been feeling most fortunate to have this considering.
It's late ...

I'm not sure if I'll keep up with the BBs for a second time this season.
They were a handful in March when I posted here.
We've had some activity here the past two weeks.

You might recall that I memtioned earlier that we had new BBs in town. This second pair is pretty new at the nesting 'thing'.

My husnand has been in the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure and is home trying to recover and much has fallen upon me.  I managed to inch my way down the hill to box #1 and unlocked it. Just a few twings and som string. Not at all sure what the new 'Dad' has in mind. But the new "Mom' seems content to let him run the show.

We shall see if can nab a few pics.

I'm sorry to learn that your husband has not been well; glad he's home now and sending best hopes and prayers for a good recovery.

The BB's are so adorable; I'm glad you have successful nests and get a photo when you can.  Take care, and hugs to Maggie.

With Bluebirds still active and flittering about. I thought it a good idea to post some updated information on these charming avians.

EMERGENCIES:

Sick or injured bird  https://bluebirdnut.com/emergencies/#sick

Finding a Wildlife Rehabber   https://bluebirdnut.com/emergencies/#rehabber

Hopefully, you’re already familiar with your local wildlife rehabber, as we encourage everyone who offers nestboxes for cavity nesters to locate a rehabber that is federally licensed for songbird care before an emergency arises. But perhaps you don’t know a rehabber, and you need to know what to do right now. Or perhaps you do know a rehabber, but you’re waiting for them to return your call. What do you do in the meantime? The following are provided as general guidelines to help you know what to do (if anything) before you contact a rehabber, or while waiting to be able to reach one. Please, read everything before doing anything!

Our bluebirds October visit on the 15th of 2022.

The pair is likely from the 2020 spring nesting season. While they no longer use our nesting boxes.
Periodically visit us making the rounds on the two nesting boxes, flitter and flutter, dine and mate.

Our bluebirds on 11-4-22 visit

This unusually dark blue male is likely from the 2019 spring season. He's the only one out of 22 years that sports this dark blue color.
He and his mate visited us today.

Our visiting bluebirds 11-4-22

Is from the 2020 spring nesting season. He , CR-29perches on nesting box #2 the least used .
However, in 2020 we had two pairs of BBs nesting with us.
The 2nd pair weren't decended from the original bluebirds of 2002. And, used box #2. They didn't return until this year.
